SoulDoll Soul-Double Discussion

Hybrids generally are my nightmare...I have such crappy luck with bobblehead and pinhead issues, or the resin's just hilariously NO and there's nothing to be done for it...so getting bodies is just sort of creeping through my brain today. But without even considering Lampard, I would need three bodies for my floating heads, two of who have their faceups already, so I'm entirely serious about getting them completed. I could get (and am thinking of getting) the one girl body to split between them, but I got my sis a Soul-Double girl around the same time, and we've never really swapped the heads out for long. Argh! I wonder if I'm ballsy enough to do a mondo-order to get bodies for everyone...

Hybrids are not my friend either. My first hybrid attempt was just last week. I received a Migidoll body for my Eliot head. Migidoll resin is pretty but more yellow, especially compared to SoulDoll's pinky tone. Plus, the neck was too thick. The body is great, though, and I'm glad he came with a free head so he'll be another character! I just don't have it in me to match resins or blush to match with hybrids. I know I'll have the same problem if I order more Souldoll heads. I might be turned off from hybrids for good. Just don't want to put myself in a corner surrounded by angry heads lol

 

Yeah I'm really worried about proportions. Especially since the doubles have smaller faces... I dont know how my girls would look on the f60 bodies but a zenith girl I saw looked okay... they are supposed to have about the same sized heads as the doubles, so I hope it works.

Sadly Migi keeps changing their formula so a lot of old hybrids dont work that great anymore. I'm planning a Migi/luts hybrid and I already know it is going to be off some, but I'm just going to try to blush the head to match.

 

Migi's so hard, and I actually adore Migidoll, but back in the day they were so easily amazing to match, and now it's such an intimidation factor getting a head at all. But it's true, the heads are such an almost in-between size, so it's quite daunting to consider bodies at all, even foregoing the resin match.

I've actually thrown a couple of Lampards (I know, right, LOL!) into the old cart just to see how I feel, and I've started to bargain with the gods, which is to say can I do, say, a Lampard and one girl now, and then maybe at the very last moment throw a couple of other bodies on layway...these are the dangerous thoughts, I tell you! And now today, I'm entirely of the mind that if they do a, I don't know, Doubler line by mid-September with amazing new bodies, I may keeeeell theeeeem aaaaaaallll.

I had a migidoll cho on a luts body. Both NS. The match was about 90%.

Illusion Spirit Matches souldoll, as I have illusion spirit NS pink jointed hands. They match almost perfectly. You really have to look for the dif. I woudl say about 95%

I would say luts would match I less pinky/mellowed souldoll. The 2013 head I have is close to my souldoll.

 

I hope after they release their new dolls that the skin tones don't change too much. I imagine finding one or two on the second hand market wont be to difficult. Ugh everyone is discontinuing their dolls it feels like.

 

Yep, when I ordered my Noel head back in 2012 they still did the 4 resin option. That was lovely. They even stated one of the four resins was a direct match to Luts!

Lampard is quite the beauty; he has that gorgeous stream-lined nose. If it's meant to be it's meant to be! I think if it's weighing that heavy on you, at least get the heads. I know bodies are hard to match but at least you'll have a gorgeous face sculpt that you won't regret. Haha and that's true! I have a feeling they'll revamp the line, bodies included, it's they're SD line for goodness sake! Most popular size of BJD! How could they not?

I remember just a few years ago Migi had a great selection of resins with A and B types of both white and normal skin. If I remember correctly, they even stated one of the normal skins was a great match to Luts. Which was really nice for a company to do!

 

I was originally planning on getting their Type A resin to match souldoll. But since Souldoll are discontinuing their double line and I cant afford to get any of the old double boy body (and they arent selling it separately anymore x.x) and the resin doesnt match now, I decided to go the Luts route. I'm not a huge fan of most of their bodies, but the type 4 is really nice. If that didnt exist, I dont know what I'd do.

 

LOL! So much Migi on the Souldoll thread, but I remembered one of them was an amazing match to Dollzone as well. Loved Migi heads on DZ bodies.

I'm going to probably have to go with an authorized dealer and a slightly longer layaway. I think I'll get one girl body, a boy body, of course the heads, and wait and see on a possible line renewal. Looking at the Sweeter situation, I'm also fairly convinced they'll do a renewal here, it's the waiting that's unendurable.

The benefit from layaway is I think production times are going to be so nuts that you might actually get your doll as soon as the layaway is over. Smaller payments and "less" wait. I imagine the delay from this summer sale is going to be insane.

 

This is definitely so; between all those new dolls, the new heads they're threatening us with, and the end of the Double line, I expect there will be some waiting involved. And that's when I adore layaway, in complete honesty. By the time I've paid it off it's like I'm settled away, and the wait just doesn't seem as horrendous as paying for a doll in full and then waiting endlessly--I'm waiting right now for the IOS Ciel, and it's just a form of torture--when I realize that he's going to start shipping in October, and it's entirely likely to go to November? Agony!

This feels like it'll be quite nicer, and by going through an authorized dealer, if things show up more quickly than I expected I always have the option of paying things off a little more quickly.

I'd say, Luts seems like a good option as far as resin matches for SoulDoll. I have considered a body from them; They have those different body types and seem to lean more on the peachy resin side like SoulDoll does. I'll think I'll hold off and wait and see IF SoulDoll rekindles the Double line with new bodies. They have to! ; ;

 

Yeah but I absolutely hate their girl bodies. They are so unrealistic and disproportional. I'd prefer a more realistic body than the fairyland f60 one for my girls, but they are better in terms of proportions and posing compared to luts for me. I was mostly talking about luts bodies for my future Migi heads ^^ Only one of the luts bodies is remotely to my taste and that's the SDF type 4 one.

I dont have funds to be jumping on getting bodies any time soon. So if souldoll releases gorgeous new girl bodies (hopefully slightly taller ones), then I might end up getting some for the heads later. But financially speaking, I could end up having to sell these heads as soon as they arrive unfortunately.

 

I dunno about luts resin matching souldoll, all my Luts dolls are in NS and it's more on the yellow side compared to others resins I've seen. I mean, mine have probably mellowed out a bit, but I remember noticing that my MSD was more on the yellow side than the pink side even when I first got him. He's not super yellow, mind you, even now, but more that than pink. But that was 2009/10 so things might have changed. Then again, my Raurencio/Luts hybrid isn't too bad a match, and the Raurencio resin is definitely more neutral, rather than more yellow or pink. Like, it's a really natural looking beige color. How well they match kind of depends on the lighting....

I just got my souldouble in the mail yesterday (WOOT!), but she's in WS so I can't really use her to compare. Her resin looks pretty nice next to his, like they're different shades in the same color family, but she's a bit older (from 2011 I think?) so her resin has mellowed out as well.

 

Yeah same here, I can do without the floatation devices on the chests lolol Yes! type 4! I like the leaner, slightly sculpted bodies, definitely prefer them over the six pack abs beef cakes. Also type 4 reworked the shoulder and hips joints for easy repair, modding. Haha yeah, that makes more sense, but I think I'll being trying Luts for a Souldoll match in the future. Maybe? I don't know.

I'm hoping that they do make the girls taller because I hear finding proper fitting clothing is a nightmare for them. That's the one thing that's held me back from getting a double girl. In that aspect, I admire them for being different, though. :c Yeah, that's a bummer, I'm planning on selling a couple floating heads in the future. I just don't love them like I used to or don't fit in with my aesthetic. Them sitting without a body has warn me down. And that's not fair to them. It's why I say no more buying just heads for me! I'll properly save up for a whole doll. Plus, too many variables of hybrids. ; ;

 

Oh I wanted a Kanguk Girl, but SD told me that the neck is very different ;_; and I suck at finding a Body...

Have anyone an Idea what this "Limited new HEAD" would be? Maybe Bliss Head? oh my I need another Bliss *haha*

 

I'm holding off on any orders until I know about the heads. Apart from the fact it's a bit of dirty pool to offer the summer event Double heads with no chance of bodies (unless they put the Doubles back on-sale or offer the event heads on the Double unassembled bodies page), I'm intrigued to know what they're going to be offering. Yes, make my decisions harder, Souldoll!

Oh ! I didn't see there was a "limited head"... So mysterious ^^
I see they will be 7 ouhouhouh ! I'm hurry to know what will be the size, as they will end the souldouble line.

Damn, I was waiting since 3 years to have a souldouble body... Now I am obliged to buy one because of their decision =_=! (Money ! No don"t leave me !)

 

Any idea when they will be releasing the new heads? It has said coming soon for a long time.

 

Right!? I've been checking the site DAILY... Waiting... lolol I wonder if the heads will be special face up sculpts or new sculpts. * ^ *
