Souldoll Souloid discussion part 1

Man, I JUST found out about the Souloids and I'm so upset I wasn't able to hop aboard and get one! The Iraki sculpt is so precious Q AQ Here's to hoping that they release more souloids in the future. <C There doesn't seem to be any luck in the marketplace.

 

There's 2 new MSD Souloids. I think the new big guys are awesome but way out of my price range for a long while. However I am really liking the new guy Diget for my Ier. I wanted a more mature face with steel skin.

 

I really love Billian, the price is a bit high but I do have till Nov to make my final decision. I'm thinking maybe getting Dara not.... sure yet either? ...... decisions, decisions!

 

The price for the larger ones is kinda insane.....and the photos don't show them off very well.

Speaking of not being shown off well, who thought styling the MSD souloids that way was a good idea? It's pretty weird....why would you bother with a souloid body and then completely cover it with elaborate clothing. I don't care for how either is faceup'd either, but I like the blank photos of Diget. He's got a good face under all that makeup lol.

 

I AM SCREAMING SO HARD. I'd almost given up hope they'd ever release white skin/steel skin MSD Souloids again after they discontinued An and Rachel without warning. I've been stalking the marketplace for months and was a little heartbroken when Souldoll released previews of the two big Souloid boys, because I thought they were giving up on their MSD Souloid line and moving on. This makes me so happy. ;___;

Getting Dara just so I can hybrid the body; I'm really not fond of her head sculpt (those ears look funky), but I was never planning to keep the head, and since I can get her at the same price as Rachel I'm not going to complain.

I agree that their choice of clothing and styling is odd - even if you don't look at the robot body, their makeup is too heavy to carry the whole mori-ish look off (though I think Diget looks better than Dara). But it's interesting to see them this way, even if it doesn't work for me.

And wow, the price for the two big boys is nuts. I wish they'd offer that charcoal steel skin for the MSD Souloids though, it looks gorgeous.

 

The charcoal steel skin is nice, how odd that it's not an option for the MSDs...

 

I AM SO EXCITED! They finally brought these guys back! I was kicking myself that I didn't order one the first time around - not making that mistake again!

Agree with you here. I think they were trying to contrast the frilly, pseudo-Victorian clothing with the high-tech artificiality of the cyborg bodies. The effect is artistically bizarre, and I think that's what they were going for. Doesn't do it for me, though. I'd rather see that sexy mechanical body than the the frilly clothes!

I think I will order Diget, he does have a nice face under the heavy makeup.

 

Glad they are back, but none of the two are appealing to me and my budget is happy if I don't jump either of them, so...
Gonna wait. There are still three months of the year left and I do wonder what else they'll come up with for their anniversary. And also... there is the dreaded X-MAS EVENT on top of that as well...
I'm kinda hoping a tail like with the big ones will become an option >:3 And the option to buy the body separate to begin with. Or option to pick a different head again.

 

I just want Dara's/Ier's body's mechanical parts... if I could only buy the body or buy the body with another head I would be happy... I have been tempted by Flett, or even the dreaming An...
But Souldoll told me it wouldn't be possible...
Hope they will change their mind in the future...

 

@Skimo: That option did exist and I'm pretty sure it will return again in the future. That or other Souloids that are more suited to my/our tastes.

 

Does anyone know if the msd Souloid will fit on a Vito body?

No, they won't as the Souloids are compatible with the normal NL body and anything that fits THAT doesn't nicely fit Vito. I just posted pics over in the normal Souldoll thread.

 

Ahhh I just discovered Souloid and I want one so bad! I like diget but not enough to completely justify buying him lol but I heard that they discontinued the souloid back in 2012 till just recently when they released these new ones? I'm really hoping they'll release new ones in the near future, hopefully with black/charcoal mechanic parts lol but I'm afraid they will discontinue the Souloid again for a very long time. What do you guys think?

 

They don't seem to want to release them as standards any more, but I'm sure they'll release more new sculpts in the future. Maybe they're too difficult to make to be offering all the time? So far they only offer the darker mechanical parts (black or charcoal) when they're offering brown resin as well.

It's a pity they don't offer the boy body with an optional Soulkid head any more. I got my Shaun that way, and I would have loved it if they released the girl body the same way.

 

Ah, okay, I have a question. Is there anyone who's put Dikadoll jointed hands on their Souloid boys? I've been searching around, and I can't find any pictures of any with them. But I figure that if I can't afford Kowalski, I might as well looking into getting my future Diget some jointed hands so he could be cooler.
Also, I saw someone post pictures of a Minifee head on their Souloid body. Can I see more pictures of that combo? It looked like the head sat a little low on the neck, but I want Diget's body to hybrid with my Siean head. I have a spare neck mechanism, but I want to know if he'll need something to make his head sit higher.

Ooh, your boy looks so nice! I can't wait to get my layaway started for mine now. I didn't realize their feet still look normal. For some reason, I expected robot feet.

 

They come with two sets of feet - human and robot, both in the same colour as the lower body.
