1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Souldoll Souloid discussion part 1

Sep 15, 2011

    1. I had asked a few questions of them in the event/sale news thread here on DoA and they have been very prompt and helpful with their answers. I just didn't want to totally hijack that thread with questions and figured owners would be in the know.

But if it is a 6/7, the wig I adore won't work as it's a 7/8 *sigh*. Yeah, I can size it down and I have done that before but it's a pain.

    2. I'm afraid it won't work. Diget has probably the smallest head of all my MSDs and definitely needs a 6-7 max - the Leeke 6-6.5 work well on him.

    3. Well, I was able to find the wig I love for him in a 6/7 and if I need to take it in a touch, I can do that easy enough. I looked at the wigs on the Leeke site and none of them are the style I see him in and it needs to be dark purple, which they don't have as a colour selection.

I appreciate you letting me know the size though so I'll be prepared to maybe have to size the wig down a touch to make it fit right.

    4. I hear you - I had the wig I wanted for Diget in 7-8 when he arrived (He's 48cm tall, how small could his head be?) I must have bought 3 or 4 wigs since thinking they would be "nearly right" but what I really want is the wig I can't have.

    5. It's so hard to find the right wig once you start going into the smaller sizes *sigh*. I have some boys who are mature tinies and finding a wig that isn't childish in a 3 or 4 or even a 5 is a challenge. Colour selection seems to go south, too, when you move into the smaller sizes. I ended up having to buy light blond wigs for my size 3 boys and dye their wigs to silver as I couldn't find what they needed in the right style and colour at the same time in their size.

Have you tried to re-size the original wig you bought for your boy? It is a bit of a pain to go down a full size (more or less) but entirely doable. I needed to do that for my RS Jun and additionally modify the sides of the wig to allow for his huge ears. You do need to remove the wefts and sew them back on after re-sizing by that much (for best fit) but it's honestly not all that difficult.

    6. I'm having a hard time finding the perfect wig in that size also. I suppose I have plenty of time to shop around while my boy's on layaway. I just hate waiting haha.

    7. I'd be doing a layaway for this guy, too. Be the first time I've ever done one as well and I've been in the hobby for 8 years. I'm trying to talk myself out of this gorgeous hunk of resin but that's not going so well *laughs*.

    8. Me too - I've not ordered yet, but I plan to put a Lavvi on layaway in August.

In the meantime I've been looking out head comparisons. I don't have a faceup I'm happy with on Diget yet, so this photo deliberately obscures his face, but I think you can still tell that his head is similarly sized to impldoll Yolanda - and her head measurement is 16cm compared to 18 for most iplehouse JID, 18.5 for minifee or 19 for littlegem.

    9. Phiel is who I'm intending to get but I also plan to ask for the Titika head as my free event head choice and that's who's going to have the souloid body. No idea what I'll do with the Phiel head but something will turn up, I'm sure. I'm waffling a bit on the face-up and whether to get the Titika with the default or not (Phiel will be blank) as the face-ups in the promo pics look beautiful.

    10. Digit made it here and I am so pleased with him. I have lots of plans for this boy. First I need to name him, then faceup and wig and maybe new eyes.

    11. Oh I remember seeing him in the MP. Congrats on the new boy.

    12. Thank you, he will be evolving shortly.

    13. Wow he looks amazing!! Congrats!! I'd love to see him after you've worked your magic on him haha :D

    14. Thanks, I can't wait to get started, need to check the humidity today.
His name is Clayton Knight, but he is called Cricket or Clicker and he says "don't ask" but still answers to either.
He is witty, sarcastic and bossy among other things.
He is going to be something like a big brother to a my clockwork boy (who isn't remotely human). Azure is his adoptive father.

    15. I am still so conflicted about the new Souloids.... They are so beautiful! :love I guess I have a little longer to decide......

    16. Seeing yalls dolls with blushing makes me remember that I really ought to get around to doing that one of these days :p my iraki wears 6/7, he shares wigs with my soom teenie gem. He has a dollheart wig that fits well too.

    17. I just noticed that the Souloid neck and the Soulkid neck sizes are different with the Souloid being 8.5cm and the Soulkid neck being 7.7cm. That's 0.8cm (5/16"). My plan was to put the Titika head (which I would qualify for as my event gift) on the Souloid body and this bit of news may wrench my plans. Would anyone be able to tell me if a Soulkid head can fit on a Souloid body without looking... weird or requiring mods? Bonus points for actual pics of the head swap.

If I can't swap heads, I may need to pass on this guy because it's the Titika head I want on the Souloid body because the face appeals to me so much more than the Phiel head. My wallet would be happy on the pass but my dolly craving soul would be very disappointed.

    18. I hope to find a souldoll Robb used somewhere and make him up in game of thrones fashion. But should he be Robb Stark or Job Snow?
