Souldoll Vito (50cm) Discussion - Part 4

After seeing the discontinue notice, I went to SD site and put a grey Jin on layaway. The summer event is still going on so I get free shipping. I ordered him now so I don't have to deal with the confusion that will be the discontinue event.

I've always wanted a Vito since they were first released. I love many of the sculpts so it was a hard choice when I only have the funds to get one. I still want a girl at some point, thankfully the one I like most is not being discontinued. I guess I'll have to finally start sewing stuff like I'd always planned. I know these are hard boys to clothe.

This is going to be a really long wait! My longest wait time from a company is 10 months. I hope it doesn't take him that long.

 

Wow. I had no idea that they were discontinuing dolls. I'm super glad now that I got Eilam (Rail) when I did as getting another doll would be a bad idea for my wallet (I have 3 dolls paid for and 1 literally in the mail to me right now). I still need to get a VIto body for Ra-Sui, but at just $15 off (the 5% discount offered), it's not really a good incentive for me. Then again... I could throw on a pair of Zenith girl heel feet for him and qualify for free shipping. That would be pretty awesome.

 

Souldoll's order page is annoying. I wanted a shipping quote, it won't give me one. -_-

Oh well, they said if you don't pay within 7 days they cancel so if I accidentally placed an order that's their problem. *huff*

How much IS shipping usually? Like, outside their "spend over 300 and get free shipping" event?

 

Depends on the weight of what you bought and where it's going to, I think. My Vito boy was $53US in shipping to Ontario, Canada.

 

Too bad they discontinue almost all Vito boy aside the new one almost all my boys is from the old vito boy

 

I'm so sad to hear about the discontinued dolls especially for the ones in their Vito line! When the discontinued head sale is up I'm planning to snatch a bunch of them. Trying to narrow it down to only getting a handful and not one of each...

 

Hi, I was curious if anyone here happened to know the head circumference of the Vito YoonGi sculpt? I was talking with a friend who's getting a bunch of the discontinued dolls and mentioned to her how I'd have to try and find a YoonGi secondhand when I had the money. She stunned me yesterday by telling me she put the head on layaway for me as a Christmas present (she's so sweet, I cried for like 10 minutes cause I just couldn't believe it). Now I'm trying to find references for what his head looks like next to MSD's with 17-18cm heads, and also resin matches. If you guys can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it!

 

I think all the Vito boys have the same head circumference but I could be wrong. I have 2 and they appear to wear the same wig size but I could measure them if you want (I have a Rail and Azreal skull head). They take a 6/7 wig. An MSD with a 17-18cm head would also take a 6/7 wig (17cm=6.69" 18cm=7.09"). Resin matches... I got nothing but hopefully somebody here can help with that.

Bear in mind the size of the neck/head hole for whatever body you want to hybrid the Vito head to as well as body proportions so you don't end up with a pin-head/bobble-head thing going on (unless that's the look you wanted). Vito's are a bit of a weird in-between size for boys and you might have some challenges finding an alternate body that'll go with the Vito head as far as proportions go.

 

Yeah, I know they're an odd in-between size and Souldoll tends to have small heads (which is why I actually was looking at the Vito's instead of the SoulKids. But thank you for telling me about the wig size thing, that helps me! I have 3 MSD boys, an Akagi boy, Resinsoul boy, and a Fantasy Doll boy. I'm thinking about putting him on another Akagi body, I'll just have to try him on Jean's when he gets here after the layaway is paid off.

 

If you're willing to measure it, can you tell me the neck and head hole size for your two vito heads?

 

I did a photo comparison for a friend of a Vito head on a Souloid body (the Souloid and Kid bodies are very close in height, which was what she wanted to see). The Vito head wasn't too bad but it looked a bit big. And the resin match was not happening as one is NY and the other WS so that was a touch jarring *laughs*.

Sure thing on the neck/hole sizes. It'll be later today as I'm currently at work.

 

Does anyone have one of the new boys yet? I put Liam on layaway and just paid him off. Now, I'm impatient. I've read SD takes a while to ship after you pay so I 'd love to see any photos owners might have.

 

Okay, neck hole measured at it's widest point (it's a bit oblong and not a perfect circle) is 2.6cm diameter or 8.17cm in circumference. The neck, measured right where the bottom of the neck hole touches is 2.8cm diameter or 8.8cm in circumference.

This is very close to the sizes given on the SD site and while I did use calipers to measure, there is human error to account for as well as where the measurement for the neck was taken by SD as the neck does widen a bit more the closer to the shoulders it gets.

Forgot to add that I measured Eilam's head and checked my notes and his head is 7.25" in circumference and he wears a 7/8 wig. You might be able to squeeze a large 6/7 on a Vito head but it would probably be dicey. My guy also wears a silicone wig cap as his head is slippery and his wig, because it's quite long, is heavy and wants to pull back off his head.

 

I just received my Liam yesterday! I ordered him during the preorder period (paid him off that same day too) and it took 5 days to arrive after he was done! It took less than 4 months, I was originally told he would arrive in September He’s gorgeous but I realized that he’s not for me ;-; I’m keeping the body for my other boy (they were originally going to share bodies) and idk what to do with Liam’s Head xD

Maybe! But I’m scared to remove his company face up if I decide to sell him or something ;-; I think he just needs a wig (I don’t have one for him yet) but I’m not too sure if I should try and invest more on him. And no problem! I’m glad my infor helped, I hope you receive him ASAP!

 

A long while back SD posted a message about a change in the way they did the layaway/production of dolls. They now begin production of the doll after the final payment has been made. This change was put into practice September 1, 2017. So if you've got a layaway going, your actual wait time is going to start from the date you make your final payment.

 

@Iron_Dog - I thought as much, which is why I'm braced for a 4-month wait, but one can hope for a quicker turnaround. After all, they've had my money for a while. I can't help but obsessively check the order every few days. silly me.
