Heehee with regards to the customizers question... I'm already becoming a bit of a Sard hoof specialist... but Imma be opening myself up to rehairing and dying/painting Chirons on commission. I've got the skillz, may as well pass em on to others. *L* I may even release a special line of chain barding for ponyboys. We'll see how that goes.

 

personally, i WANT his face masculine looking. Although i do love the femm boys sculpt for beauty purposes, Chiron is supposed to be from a POWERFUL race of centaurs, and It would disappoint me to no end if he was yet ANOTHER femmy sculpt. I'm wanting to see more manly, powerful guys in the BJD universe. To me, there seems to already be a flood of "It's-a-girl-oh-wait-no-it's-a-boy" dolls.

 

I agree! I want a man with subtle cheekbones, a wonderfully square jawline, a straight nose without that feminine little upturn at the end.... and wide full lips.

I have a Clydesdale and a good old Aussie Stock horse, Mmm..somewhere inbetween would be my perfect rump. Maybe a Fresian. Have to admit that this is my first big company temptation as it would be so much fun and also make a good seat for the msd sized little one's. It is slightly insane to start justifying a potentially massive price tag as a space saving solution, Ikea might have something to say about the concept.

I wouldn't really be too disappointed if he came bearing masculine features.
After all, Chiron accdg to greek mythology was the king of his kind.

But then, he was also the kindest, most refined and most intelligent.
He was a doctor, healer and mentor.
Not a fighter.

I've always thought of horses as graceful, powerful creatures.
So I'd love for the japanese aesthetic (sharp, long, femme) to be applied to something european in history.

Of course.. that is just me.
Eitherway, I would want him all the same.

Heh, that actually resembles the sculpt, quite a bit. So far anyway. But please Souldoll, leave out the 80's cockrock hair and skully beatin'-sticks.

The greek representation of centaurs often featured very manly human bodies, with requisite big bad beards (BBB's), mounted upon rather slender, pony-like equine bodies. This is likely because the horses native to Greece were quite compact... coldbloods took quite a while to get to tropical cultures. Foreign horses noted in ancient greece would have been similarily lithe breeds like arabians and akhal-tekes, as well as the compact steppe-type animals.

Roman centaurs looked a little burlier... much more groomed BBB's, mind you...but possessed of even more rippling pectorals than the greek predecessors. The Romans were very good horse breeders and did much to bring coldblooded size and muscle into the rest of the world. So you see a typical Roman 'destrier' type in their centaurs. Destriers (which is a medieval word but still refers to a type) were warhorses, fusions between coldbloods for size, muscle, smarts and loyalty, and hotbloods for speed, endurance and maneuverability. They were perfect for war. Centaurs in Roman culture became more feral than Greek centaurs. All about the war and the brimstone and the raping of the ladies, you see. So the destrier type was represented.

I'm currently looking for centaurs from other cultures. I know there is a Hindi centaur but cant remember his name. T_T There is a pseudo-centaur called Burak in Islamic legend.

Also, I had a thought.... how hot would a liver chestnut centaur be, with dark tan human flesh, and golden mane and tail? Puuuuuuuurrrdddddyyyy.

BJDs--changable wigs, remember? I'd never base my choice of a doll on its default wig (good thing, given the number of default wigs that have come off a doll & never gone back on. ).

I was amazed to see a pretty good centaur on some ad on the tv last night--I wouldn't mind those proportions, but if the Souldoll centaur has that actor's face, he ain't coming here. Ok, my bank account reminds me that he probably won't be coming here anyway. I won't even dream, though, if there's much of a resemblance. -_-

I think the idea of a centar doll is awesome. I love greek mythology so he is deffinatlly joining my collection of .... 1 doll >> I'm so lame hehe

Maybe I'm blind or daft or both, but I didn't know he had a "due date." As in the actual doll release date? Or did you simply mean pictures of the facial sculpt? ^^;

... I can't seem to find any posted question asking "when will Chiron be released?" haha, oh my, maybe I'm blind AND daft.

, I received this in response to a set of questions I asked. So, release in two-four weeks, hopefully.

b) When he will be released.
: We are expecting that it will be released from the mid of December to the end of December.
For present, we will do our best for release it as soon as possible.
