1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

SOULDOLL Zenith Chiron Discussion - 70cm Centaur & Human versions

Nov 19, 2008

    1. If only they sold the head alone..I just need to have his human head! :...(

    2. Lots of people have been unhappy with the way the human torso slots into the horse-parts. Ok, I agree; it looks odd----buut:

That's been a problem since ancient days. Nearly every centaur has a discrete bit of cloth hiding the join for the past 2000-2500 years.

Human torsos are skinnier front to back, and sturdy horse necks are wider from front to back. If you superimpose the two ovals, you get something rather like a flower shape, instead of a smooth and natural joining.
Putting the joint lower on the human torso gives the butt shaping to work with.

A deeper horse torso would only take a bit more resin; it's not like the increase would have to be solid resin. But I'll bet this centaur weighs 2.35 tonnes already. :o

    3. well...I hope someone tries any other resin body into the slot when they get theirs....hmmm...wonder how Saint would look as a Centaur?

I want a Centaur but it will need to wait. I have other plans for my money right now.

    4. I would think that the horse part could be modified to allow the human torso to sit into it better. I wonder if they left it how it is to reach the height they wanted (vs the centaur being shorter then the human). I was so going to get one of these, but now I'm not sure.

    5. I am tempted to get the centaur and split him up...make a real ball jointed horse and a merman.
I have been itching to try sculpting again.

    6. *sighs heavily*
      *updates signature*
      *headdesk*

People really need to stop doing this 'being utterly brilliant' thing when there's money in the paypal account, I need to put more aside for taxes.

    7. Since he's not limited, I will do the sensible thing and wait to get him... but I will get him. I am so much in love with him. I shall wait and see the arrival pictures for the Human Chiron.

    8. Layaway...! Thank you, Souldoll! That means I'll definitely be getting him (Human Ver.) at some point next year. Eeee! My first 70cm. XD

    9. Ugh, to get the human version just as he is, it will cost $1043. When I first saw the $610, I got so excited. Then I started adding stuff. The clothes are $250! Sigh. I am just not sure how he would look in the white skin. It is hard for me to imagine using just the head they show.

    10. OMGOMGOMGOMG.

Okay um. I'm fooked. Yes, the horse body is a bit on the emaciated side but seeing the whole deal together actually doesnt appear too bad. And I can definately mod that.

Cripes, I have to force myself to wait until Soom's Sagittarius is released.... I can't jump the gun here. *hyperventilate* Can only afford ONE centaur.... But Chiron's FACE...... His face is PERFECT. T_T And why must I want the 130$ grey skin so badly?????? Its the ultimate canvas for a gorgeous gunmetal dapple grey..... Or even blue roan.... Arg. And the outfit!!!!! This is evil. I have to go brood quietly in the corner and try to stay strong til Soom's is released.

    11. :D OMG, he was less than I was expecting!!!! Ordered and paid just now after I got up, lol. I can't believe it, I've FINALLY found the mold for my Kiale!

    12. Hm yes I do think I'm going with the human face. The broody face doesn't work with the eccentric outfit for me or the off the wall charrie that's coming to mind. But I dunno, maybe later I'll get my boy a "serious" twin. XD

Now to get the grey skin or not. That's the hard part. With it his total comes to $1178 after shipping. *_*

    13. I'm sooooo glad he's not limited, since I can't buy right now and I really want the centaur version in white! (And maybe I can find a human head at some point so I can switch between them, too. :)) Must save money...

    14. Can someone list the price and layaway info, I cannot seem to get on to the site?

    15. I have no idea which head I like better. I wish there was an option to get both with the cetaur, like SOOM does with their special dolls.

    16. I think we all broke it. I can't get on either.

    17. Yep its dead, lol. Just as I was checking out. Maybe its a sign to wait? :treecookie

    18. I actually love the horse body. I'm glad he's not limited, so I can wait until people get him home, and then I can see comparisons - see if any female torsos are compatible. Then I'd just have to sand off some horse bits... and Icould have my female centaur!

    19. Okay, I'm sold.

That Layaway plan is definitely something I can afford, and I don't need the clothes for the character I need this guy for....

Maybe in the next few months he can be mine.
