It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. SOULDOLL Zenith Chiron Discussion - 70cm Centaur & Human versions

Nov 19, 2008

    1. Yikes did anyone check shipping? 107.30 for a centaur to the US. Ouch! The sculpt is growing on me though. I am going to wait until I see soom's or someone posts theirs on here to decide. I definitely love the human version though.

*also wanted to ask why it costs extra to cast in gray? Does anyone know?

    2. I think it's probably because it's hard to cast, like tan resin. It's hard to get perfect!

    3. Yeah thats what I was thinking. I don't mind paying extra for something if I know why it costs extra...

    4. >_< since Im broke till March... I am soo glad he is not limited. over a grand price tag is a tad steep ^^;

    5. Am I reading it right that if we order Chiron on or before Dec. 25, we can get a free faceup on him per Souldoll's Christmas event? And would that special offer be valid if he was put on lay-away?

Just wondering. I shouldn't even be thinking about this guy, but he is so tempting. My only other problem is trying to decide between the human head or the centaur head....

    6.
    7. Man, I probably won't be able to afford him until around May, but I'm sure going to get him. He's just so awesome, and I've been wanting another big guy around. :)

I'm glad I decided not to go for Kurumi at the dolpa. Perhaps the fates are rewarding my tough decision.

Man, with all the options I want he comes out to be around 1200 and that's without shipping...*sigh* and I was so optimistic when I saw his base price tag.

    8. i still want him, regardless of his price tag. I'm going to start saving or if I like soom's new MD better get layaway and that.. Hopefully I'll have enough by the beginning of summer if I chose Chiron :)

    9. Not using the horse-stomach I can handle, though the guy would have to eat a TON to keep the horse-body fueled (no matter how many stomachs he had), but one teensy set of human lungs wouldn't be sufficient to get enough oxygen to all those big horsey muscles. I'm still disappointed by the shape of the horse body. However...I can live with it, if I ever decide to get him. Just what they've done is impressive enough.

I actually just want the centaur's outfit - or at least, I want the upper part of it. Those chest-crossing bandolier things are right up my alley. :aheartbea I've got a couple dolls in my crew right now I could put them on...

      Er. Souldoll, not Soom. :sweat

    10. ooo he's love...thank goodness he's not limited! I'll take his human body with the Centaur head. Not sure if i want to wait till i get to see owner pics of him...but nonetheless earliest I could get him isn't until late january. Ah looks like for now i'm making some room for this boy!

    11. *laughs* Oops, I keep getting them mixed up. It begins with S and has an O in it too, and they are both making centaurs. ;)

    12. If you put plausible horse-sized lungs in the upper torso, where they'd need to go so the brain can get dibs on the oxygen-rich blood, it wouldn't look right either.

I'm planning to drape the lad in a brightly coloured caparison and maybe some chain-mail for some proper barding, which hopefully should disguise the weirdness of his horse chest.

    13. I have to say this, guys, as I think you're all getting a wee bit too technical. ;)

Centaurs are mythical creatures. No one really knows what they would look like if they WERE real. This is the same with all other mythical creatures. Take mermaids for example. If they were real, would they really be beautiful? They have a FISH tail. :P And angels - if humans really had wings, surely their torsos or shoulders would be horribly distorted?

      Just my $0.02. ;)

    14. Who CARES? He's semi-pseudo-AFFORDABLE! :D Not ridiculously expensive and horridly out of reach!

Did I already post this? Bah, I don't care if I did, I'm just excited that his basic NS version isn't more than $610, or at the very least not too much over (not counting shipping of course, but... YAY!)

    15. This .

    16. Exactly!

The very fact that so many people in this very thread wanted to make Chiron according to their interpretation makes me wonder why they are so dismissive of Souldoll's interpretation.

      It's not a horse sculpture, it's a fantasy doll.

    17. I was about to post these exact words, only with some things about the greeks and some sci-fi references. Nerd-tastic, yo!

It's like when my friend's brother said he was drawing a dragon skull incorrectly. He was like "Uhh, well when you see one tell me what it looked like, kay?"

I plan on making my centaur guy young, like 100, so his body would be more colt-like anyway.

    18. I wish Souldoll would stick both heads side by side. I'm trying to pick out all the little differences. Like the centaur's nose seems wider, plus that small frown. I still...am pulling my hair out at which head to get. Do I want the gentle but sexy boy or the dangerously always disgruntled sexy boy? :? I think I'm leaning towards the pouty-frowny boy now when I almost hit "buy" for the human head earlier...

I guess I could always seek out the opposite later if I change my mind.

    19. oh my good a girl centaur form soom would send me straight down to poverty because i would have to get the both of them to form the couple and i'm already tormented enough because i love both the human (the outfit is gorgeous, and souldoll makes some of the most great outfit out there speaking about quality) and centaur version of chiron.
the strange thing is they're not limited edition for any option, does this not sound a bit strange to you?

    20. Yes I see what you are saying, I built up some unrealistic expectations. I think I saw chronicles of narnia two too many times lol.
