SOULDOLL Zenith Chiron Discussion - 70cm Centaur & Human versions

The centaur head has not only different make-up and ears but a different shape (sculpt) also!

 

OMG, I luv him. I may actually have to break and buy him, later rather than sooner, but you cannot say he isn't totally cool. What I'm having a hard time deciding is whether it's worth the extra $300 to get the normal lower body?

I noticed that his tail is sculpted. I would want to cut it off and make a soft tail out of doll hair.

 

Well, better to have it and not need it... I'll have to save for, like, forever, but I have Kalix from DoD, I'm paying off Euclase on layaway, and my goal for 209 is Chiron. Forget Men in Black, I love Men in Grey, LOLOL! And you see how much extra that love will cost me, gah.

If you want to get his body, you can always sell it in the Marketplace if you decide you didn't need it after all, just a thought. I daresay you won't be the only one 'fixing' the tail, LOL!

Hm, I hope someone gets him soon. I really want to know what other doll company heads can fit him.

True, and purchasing a full body later will probably be more expensive.

I have other dolls to play with too, I shouldn't even be looking at another one. I have decided Chiron will be my Graduated-with-my-Bachelors-and-got-an awesome-job present to myself. Provided I haven't flipped head-over-toesox for someone else in three years.

And why didn't Souldoll just give him a removable tail? They could have made a small fortune with people buying different colored tails.

I would love to see someone paint theirs in zebra stipes or piebald.

 

Yesterday I ordered a souldoll chiron, the human version.
I got him through a BJD agent with 2 part layaway. I am really excited, I hope he will be as beautiful in real life as he does on the pictures.

 

Oh Veletbat what skintone did you get? (Did you happen to order from the European Agent?)

I'm definately considering this boy... human wise xD I'm quite tempted to get him in Grey skin but I might go with normal or white. I just need to decide if I should body my floating head first or him first... decisions, decisions...

I am sooo agonising over whether I can afford this boy. I love the human version and keep just returning to check him out. I notice that he is now sold out at SoulDoll. Grrrr, wish I could plant a money tree in the garden

This is really out of the blue, but I think the human version would make the perfect Vampire hunter d. he is a major guilty pleaser of mine. But in the white skin, and the right face-up it would work perfect. Just felt to need to share this with someone. I want them both, this is a major conspiracy against my wallet.

I thought the same thing. Too bad he won't fit into Souldoll's "Hunter of Devil Monster" Limited. You'd have to find it second hand, anyway.

Yay glad to see I’m not the only one. Have you ever seen the images of D done by Yoshitaka Amano, if you haven’t you have got to look it up they are stunning. I think if you use the outfit he comes with and find or make a hat like D’s it could work. the shoes wouldn’t work, but I’m soom might have some. Not sure if there is another web site that sells shoes for 70cm doll. That ‘hunter of devil monster’ outfit would be so great if it did work.

 

@ ghost reflection: I love Amano's art. I have a couple of the translated VHD novels with his illustrations.

Would you get him a different wig? I think D's hair is brown and sort of curly/wavy in "Bloodlust."

Soom is a good place to check for shoes. Check Dollmore and Iplehouse, too. Dollmore's Model dolls might be too skinny (Chiron looks kind of built) but the clothes/shoes for IH's Elder line might fit. The Super Hero body is really beefy. Luts had 70cm dolls too.

I hope they come out with an elf version of the human head, I'm kind of partial to the soft smile.

 

Shoes are without a doubt my biggest concern for this guy. Aren't his feet 9.5? Seriously big feet there, I will have a source for shoes before I place my order (assuming I don't just get the centaur version without the human body, because I'm totally not made of money and I will be getting grey-tone either way).

His art is the reason why I like vampire hunter d, I also have the illustrated version ‘sandman: the dream hunter’ I just love his style. Glad to find someone who loves his art too. It is just such captivating art. Once I finally save up money and buy this boy it is going to be so much fun trying to turn him into Amano’s version of vampire hunter d, the sandman would work for him too.
Thanks for the tip about the shoes. Dollmore seems like it might be too thin, though it could depend on the shoe.
