soooo I wonder if I can find someone to drop the sleeve longer... better yet will Iplehouse send me a scrap of the fabric to do it?... I haven't tried the white pants yet ( know they will be too short but that will hide in the boots ;p)

 

The boobs on the new Zenith body aren't actually bigger than the old ones. They're just different shape. They look bigger because the default pose is so stiff with the boobs and butt out. And also because the boobs are positioned higher and the shoulders aren't as relaxed. I'd say the old body also has very perky boobs, but they don't look the same because of the overall shape of the torso.

Well, you could try begging them to make the old body again? I know they had problems with the molds for a long time before discontinuing the old bodies. I think that IF enough people asked, they might consider making new molds, but it's expensive, so they haven't wanted to do it. They did contact a lot of people who ordered the old body earlier this year and said that if they switch to the new body, they can ship the doll out asap, but if they don't switch they'll have to wait for months more. I think most people switched because they didn't want to wait anymore. But Souldoll is a big company (especially big in the Asia market) so they shouldn't have a problem with offering multiple body options.

I know that after trying the body for myself I will not be getting any more Zenith girls from them before they offer the old body again or update the new body. =__=;; I really want Lime but the new body is just way too... weird for that head for me.

 

Yenna I've sorta... already begged them for it! I didn't want to post it on here since it's a bit embarrassing, but this was their answer when I basically said I reeeeally wanted a "chest joint under the boobs" and "joint-arms instead":

We can't offering the double jointed body due to some problems of original form and mold as you know.
However, we don't yet decide to stop the sale completely.
Just, it takes a pretty long time for solve the problem of the body and we don't have enough time for the work at present.
And, we are considering to renewal the inside shape of chest parts(NEW double jointed girl) but it also takes some times.
We hope you undrerstand and your support.

Therefore, there is still hope! I was planning to get my girly in December so I think I might just go for the new double-jointed body... (sad sad sad) Maybe I can try trading it on the marketplace or something, or just wait for them to offer the old body. I've been waiting so long to get Lime!!! She is simply divine & I have so many projects for her!

Oh by the way, Yenna, since you have both bodies, would you say an outfit custom made to fit the new body would easily fit the old? The problem I'm guessing would be the boobs, since they are placed so much higher up... That's my main concern with trading bodies.

 

I don't think that would be a problem. The boobs aren't _that_ much higher, they just seem like they are because they're a diffent shape. I made a custom outfit for the new body, and then switched to an old torso and the only problem I encountered was that the top was a little too short. Because the new torso is signifigantly shorter. Other than that, the custom new body outfit looks much better on the old body, lol (that's probably because of the more natural posture, though). However, I can't say anything about an outfit with a tight fitting solid top: mine had a sleeveless corset-top. So, it might depend on the outfit.

 

Yenna That picture is really helpful! The old body looks really nice The new one looks a lot more angular and stiff on that picture, but it's still quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing all the info you've gathered (the hard way)!

I think I'm gonna go ahead and order my Zenith... Since she's an older model, do I get anything from ordering her during the Christmas event? Or is it only for new dolls? If not, I might as well just wait until January...

If anyone tries begging Souldoll for the old body let me know how it goes!

 

If you pay in full, you get a free outfit set for your girl (either 6 or 7 from here) and you also get 5% of the doll's price as points, which can be used later. Or if you pay with layaway, you can get 30% off the outfits price. You get the 5% points with layaway payment as well.

How good is SD at 'adding' to an existing order... I want to add 'Scotts' set to the Oscal layaway I have..

 

Well, it is more angular and stiff, so that's a fair assesment. xD The new torso is in the default curved back pose in the photo, while the old torso can't stay that way by itself, so it looks extra relaxed next to it all separate like that. :P
All their dolls are included in the event, so yeah, you can get an outfit even if you order an older Zenith. ^^

They don't add to orders in my experience, but they do combine them. They usually adjust the shipping by a few $$s even if you combine a small order with a bigger one, though.

 

this could be a problem because my order is a 6 (now 5 payments left) layaway. and I cant get the outfit without a doll... it's the Scott set... if I can add it I can get it but I can't just 'buy another tera' to get the outfit ><. But it requires a 'down payment on a doll.... which is more than I can do... otherwise the 6 months was pointless >< ugh...

Has anyone picked an outfit already? I'm leaning towards the "bride" gown with the tiara. The veil is not really my thing but the gown itself is quite nice.

 

@Dayme - I like the bride outfit too, but am disappointed both choices are white. I'd love the costume Evelyn is wearing, especially with the mask. or buy the mask separately since not everyone will be getting that doll.
but, the white lace "day dress" is very appealing. ah well....I have to wait until January. in the bjd world, a lot can change in that time. maybe those white boots will be available then.

In that case, I'd ask them first if you qualify for it? Basically it can be put into a cart by itself since it's not one of those "only with a doll" kind of options. So, it could work out.

 

I was playing around with what my order will be in a few weeks. I put the black dress with mask in a cart. The coupon gives me 10% off. But....shipping one dress/mask is $64!!!!
it's cheaper to pay full price and buy it with the doll. the doll with all her accessories (wig, 3 hands, feet, shoes) is only $82 shipping. that's crazy.

must rethink my strategy.

That's a ridiculous amount for shipping Honestly if I could choose between a free shipping event (for example Supia's Winter event) or a freebie event, I'd go with free shipping every time.

@Dayme - it's the black one with the urethane mask that matches Evelyn's face. the coupon is for 10% which I figured would cover shipping. gah!
in order to use the coupon, it has to be a separate order. when the time comes in a few weeks, I will ask them if I can order it but have it ship with my doll. it's a lot of $$$
for an outfit but the mask is very cool. I like her entire "look." they even offer the shoes & wig as options when ordering her. but I'm not paying an extra $64.

But if you already have a doll in the making, it would malke absolute sense to have them shipped together. I hope it works out!

 

@petiteballerine Maybe just ask Souldoll on the Q&A whether or not it's the accurate shipping cost? There might be an error in the shopping cart system and weight of the items. Or I don't know if it's the box size that determines the shipping cost nowadays. It's surely a huge dress, but that shipping sounds like the dress would be as heavy as a doll...

it's pretty crazy about the dress. I'm not buying Eve until January, so I'll deal with the dress issue when I'm ready to order. I'd ordinarily not spend so much on an outfit, but the mask tipped me over the edge. I like that Evelyn isn't beautiful in a conventional sense.
Isabel is so pretty, but Eve looks like her brother, Soom Albin.

@safir - yes, I think that's the best way to start. ask about the shipping accuracy first. I think the issue will be that there is only one coupon allowed per order. perhaps, under the circumstances, they will bend the rules.

3 things (that I know affect shipping rates).
1. weight of boxed item
2. size/shape or type of container (ie a bubble packet v.s box also).
3. what the flat rate for size/weight levels is.

these are grouped things... like sizes under a certain dimension or above it cos different.... same for weight. It has to do with cargo space and what they can fit into containers to transport yada-yada
