Ooooh it's about time

 

Wow, what an expressive face Agnetha has, very pouty lips.

Ok my girls head arrived today, I put her on the AOD body (the resin match is fine) and took quick pix.


(Two more in my DA - there big - so dont wanted to eplode the thread )

I dunno what to say, Im a bit dissapointed. She looks less magic then in the SoD pix .

Her head is very round, I somehow thought it would be more long from pics.

The sculpt is more rough it looks lees tender then on the site .

She looks more severe and sad IRL.

The face up is ok, only on the one site of the lips it looks a bit dirty, like if child have played with lipstick and havent wipe it away completely. (You can see it on the pix - right.) Maybe I shouldnt have take face up, I belive Id give her one more lifefull and lovely, but now Ill keep it for a while till well I paid for it

The most thing Im happy about is that SoD gave me the chance to get her head only, I would be much more unhappier if Id got her with body.
Till I dont know If Ill keep her.

Like Jay said the head is small but its not so bad at all

FYI: she has 14mm smallish eyes in her (the others I ordered 12mm are still on the way)
The wig is 8-9 (but it runs smaller Id say 8) from Leeke, its fixed by wig stopper not to fall down (its a bit big but works )

So yeah Im curious how the rest of you guys will like her (and your own once she arrives.)

I think that most of the magic comes from the white skin colour, as she really seems to be a ghost or a faery. And I'm truly happy to have choose this colour myself !
But, on your pics, I find her really interesting : she has soul this one ! believe me !!! Like if she has a secret or something that she will maybe tell you some day. Well, that's my feeling ! ^^

 

Azraelita: Congrats! I think she is lovely. Very pensive and serious. Not like any other sculpt I can think of. I do agree about the messy lips. I would email Souldoll and send her back for a repaint or ask for a refund on the faceup. Just my opinion, but I would be pissed off. I was going to get a face up when I order her and now I am having second thoughts. I would love to see a picture of her eyebrows if you don't mind. Oh, I love those piercing green eyes too!She is captivating even with imperfect lips!

 

Azraelita, to my eye at least, she is still simply breathtaking! I'm already getting ideas about the faceup I will attempt with her, and if I succeed, she will look perfect as the character I bought her to portray. Another relief for me is that judging from these pictures, she has no signs of "Hye-syndrome" by which I mean terrible flaws in symmetry. My Hye head is currently being modded by a fellow BJD hobbyist to make her face more symmetric... So I'm very happy to see I don't have to send Agnetha away to be modded too!

Also, thank you very much for the information on the resin match and the size match! My long search for the body is finally over

Well it could be that WS suits her better, at least that this face up works better with WS.

I can post pic with eyebrows later. Hmm have to think about contacting Souldoll.

Nuemeth: Well great you dont like her less after seeing my pics.
She has no symmetry flaws at first sign, but then on the sesond she has: one of her eyes is smaller then other. Its not big deal though.
As for body Id almost say an even smaller body with thinner neck would be better for her, but I can post pix of her nude later.

 

Azraelita Thanks for the pics I think she still has some depth to her as dark_angel said but I think some more of her 'realness' comes from the warmer skin tone than the souldoll web pics .... also could be the bangs throwing you off a bit with the shape and feel of her head -- I'd try one w/out bangs and it should elongate her face more like the website pics -- still extremely beautiful!! Congrats!!

Still very much anticipating mine -- Can't wait for my layaway to finish just after Xmas

Umm, I'm sorry if this goes slightly off-topic, but I was wondering... since there's no change in my order status still, it has said "money transfer received" for the past 3 weeks, is it supposed to change to "processing" or something like that when they actually start processing the order, or will it just change straight to "shipped"? I have no recollection of this from the time I ordered Hye, and I have been keeping an eye on the order status since on some occasions the email shipping notice has gotten lost in the way.
I'm just wondering 'cause I had this incident once - after a long time of silence I emailed to a company and it turned out they had forgotten about my order... so just making sure

(Yes - I am impatient when waiting for something... I just want her so much more after seeing Azraelita's beautiful photos)

Wow, Azraelita--so your girl arrived! This is the first owner picture I've seen with faceup. I think she looks very much like the pictures but the bangs and different skin color do make her look different in that way.

Honestly, I think Agnetha needs a smaller body. I'm going to use my Agnetha's body for a different head, then look for a body for Agnetha that I'm happier with the scale.

I'm very pleased with the Zenith body. This is the first time I've seen one in person and I like it a lot. Poses really great! And I love her hands! They're so expressive. Kind of spooky in a way, but I really like that about her.

I apologize for not having posted pictures yet. I've been extremely busy with a friend visiting and I had a doll party at my house, then it was Halloween.

Thank you Azraelita! So there's no worries yet then, it will be a month tomorrow from the day I ordered her. If nothing still happens 'till the end of next week, I will probably send a polite question, asking if they have any shipping estimate for my head. I'm scared she will get stuck in the Christmas traffic... I'm especially eager now 'cause her wig and eyes arrived today, the wig looked beautiful on my Luts Harmony and I can't wait to try it on Agnetha...

Jay, I'll be very happy to see how your Agnetha looks like when you have the time to post some pictures

 

I forgot to mention that Agnetha did come strung insanely tight. I have since restrung her.

But I'm afraid I really don't like the proportion of the head to the body. I think with my resin kids if the head isn't the perfect size proportion, then I prefer them a bit bigger rather than a bit smaller. I know others feel exactly the opposite.

That's a shame you're having a hard time bonding with Agnetha, Jay I think a faceup might help you bond since it might be hard for you to see her potential otherwise. I'm super curious to see more photos of her nude now, and comparisons with other SD sized dolls O_O She sounds like a pinhead!

 

Jay, I'm so sorry to hear you're having problems I thought about your question, and maybe you could ask in your sales topic if the potential buyers want faceup? As some people prefer to do it themselves, it would be a waste of time if the new owner would just wipe her clean...

On a sidenote, my head was shipped this morning!! I'm still a bit scared about white skin since I've never done a faceup to a white skin head, but next week I'll be furiously practicing...

Jay: Oh its pitty, I love the way you style your girls.
I dont know if its better to sell her with or without face up, it could be right both way.
I agree with what Anneke says. Agnetha is new and unknown so maybe the face up will help to see what she is like.
