1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Souldoll Zenith Girls Discussion

Nov 3, 2010

    1. Lovely pic Lynessa. Your girl looks really cool!

    2. Thanks^^ I am thinking of turning her into a "Robin Hood" type of character. Next I would like to make or find her a modern looking bow and arrow!

    3. I received my Karin from the seller this past week and holy cow! I freaking love her! Pictures don't really do this sculpt justice. She is really gorgeous! I am so happy to finally have her. I call her Simone.

    4. She's gorgeous! @luckeegurl36
I bought a resin bust last month so I can at least have my Karin head sitting here next to me at the computer, but she's still faceless. :sigh

    5. Thank you! @St. James
I was pleasantly surprised by the default faceup. It's in good shape so it stays for a while.

    6. Hey everyone~ I just got some news from souldoll which kinda made me sad :( Actually, I was waiting for a possible Winter event by Souldoll to order my Zenith girl, and just a couple of days ago noticed that the only available body option was the new double-jointed body. After reading a reeeally helpful review by dimensiondolls I was really set on getting the old double-jointed body, so I asked souldoll about it in the Q&A. Here was their answer:

      Sorry about it.
We don't offering double jointed body for present because the mold and original shape has some problems.
We are expecting that it takes a pretty long time even if we can re-sell the body.
      We hope you understand.
      Thank you.

I really feel like begging them for the previous body ._. So to those using the new double-jointed body; how is the posing? do your dollies end up looking stiff or are you actually satisfied with the body? Any info would be really appreciated é_è

    7. I personally really like the new body and would choose it even if I had the option to choose between it and the old body. The placement of the joint in torso is most likely a personal preference, all of my favorite bodies have the joints right under chest (Iplehouse EID/SID/nYID, Soom Super Gem new body, this new Zenith body) and even if it might create harsh edges when bended too much, for me it creates the most natural look if photographed from the right angles. The knee joints are great in my opinion as well as the joints in arms. I like everything about the new Zenith body and wouldn't change anything in it :) It might not be for everyone, but I love it and think it poses great. I haven't taken much photos of my girl (Bella) since she's still not completely finished, but I do enjoy posing her and having her around in different poses.

Now that they don't offer an option, you could either wait for them to offer the older body again (if they're even going to do that) or try out the new body. If you know for certain that engineering of the new body seems like something you won't like, then it'd probably be the best to wait :)

    8. Safir Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts on the matter! It's really nice having an owners opinion on it.
Actually, I was really set on getting a Zenith this Winter, so I think I'll go ahead and try out the new double-jointed body. Worse case, I'll wait for them to offer the old body again & buy a headless body (or just get another doll :D the zeniths are amazing!) I agree that the knees look really nice, but to me it was the elbow joints I thought looked kinda harsh... Hopefully I get to see for myself soon :3 Thanks again~

    9. My girl has the new body and the posing is very good. I really like the body in general, except the bust is a bit too large for a few clothes.

    10. I've been quite a fan of souldoll, mostly their kid sculpts for a while now. Though I really love their Zenith Hannah sculpt, but to my dismay she was a one-off limited fullset. Do you think they will ever release her as a basic doll, or even a limited of more than 1?
I've never seen a new sculpt made and have only one cast of it created before. Is this something common of souldoll?

    11. Hannah was a time limited sculpt. So, she was made after order and thus they made as many as was ordered. I just don't think they've shipped yet, because her order period only ended a couple of months ago and Souldoll tends to take 3+ months for most dolls (espectially with outfits and face ups). They do occasional one offs but those are usually a special colour or a modification from their existing sculpt. Like Adela was a modified Paratiisi. The super number limited dolls go like lightning, despite their very high prices though, because Souldoll is very popular in Korea and probably other parts of asia, too. ^^;

    12. Ahh really? Thanks for the info! I never knew that she was open for more than one order and not a just a one-off limited doll. Hmm, I guess that could give me a better chance of getting one I guess? haha
I'll have to keep a very sharp eye out in the market for her.
Was she offered in that fullest outfit and face-up when orders were open as shown in the picture? I thought the outfit/face-up was a one-off thing too?

    13. Since her info says that the face up and outfit were optional parts: she was available blank or with the extras for extra price. Souldoll tends to have a huge advertisement on the doll title or the page if it's a super limited. Otherwise it's just limited, and unlikely to be offered again. Souldoll has a lot of sculptors and some don't want their heads to be sold as basics (or the contract limits basic sales), so they often have limited sales. And also regularly discontinue their basic sculpts (or an entire doll line), once their contract with the sculptors runs out.
But yes, I think there's a decent chance to grab souldoll sculpts on the marketplace afterwards. Especially after they first start shipping and even more so if they were sold during an event.

    14. Thank you very much @Yenna :3nodding: At least I now know more about SoulDoll for the future ;3
Hopefully once she starts getting shipped out I could find her somewhere. Im assuming she will be a bit more expensive then her sale price though since she is now sold out. (I pray not too much!)

    15. My Karin is back from her face-up! :XD:
I happened to have a pair of 12mm Gumdrops. The 14mm eyes I ordered for her make her look like a sinister reptile, so new eyes are on the shopping list along with a body and a smaller wig.

    16. St. James Your Karen is lovely! :D She is the first NS Karin I've seen and my favourite by far!

Has anyone tried Iplehouse EID shoes on their Zenith girls? I've heard from a friend that they fit but IH feet are much smaller than the Zeniths'...

    17. Wow @St.James I agree with Dayme. I had been trying to picture Karin in NS and she is just beautiful!

    18. can souldoll mad clothes fit minifee clothes?

    19. She's beautiful!
This is the soul zenith (SD size) discussion. Try asking the soul kids thread.

Does anyone know if they'll be selling LE Beatrice's outfit separately?

    20. @Dayme @Dolleve @s1257 Thanks! She's actually white skin, its just a terrible late-night phone shot. We've got a bunch of storms rolling in, so it will probably be weeks before I can take any photos in natural light.
Her head is so tiny, I am having a hard time adjusting, but at least there are some other 60cm dolls in the house with 7-8in heads. I remember being appalled by my brand new Soom Sard's tiny head ages ago, but now I've crossed the line into 12mm eyes. Never say never!
