I love this dress style, though I agree with everyone that smaller and/or fewer bows are in order. I still can't justify the price though. Sure, it's silk. But even if it is $20 a yard you'll need *maybe* two yards for that dress, so that's still only about $40 for materials, maybe $50 once you add the trimming. Because I love this dress so much I think I may attempt to make something in a similar style, but a different color and with fewer bows. I think that this dress would look absolutely adorable displayed on a pretty girl doll next to the Art Delf Sapphire El from a couple months back. They are the right period look for each other, it would just be too cute.
I definitely agree that it's WAY too costly...and it is a beautiful dress but it does not look hard to make at all... especially since they show you front and back...you get all the details right up front... If anybody wants me to make this dress i'll totally charge less than half the price
