1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. @Inspired - I'm not signed up to Instagram, so I can't find my way around, BUT, I save saved a pictured from somewhere of chocolate Letizia in amongst a group of pale blue dragons...*checks pics*...ah yeah, looks like it's a screen shot save, so it is almost certainly from Anna's Insta. So will will be able to find it for a good look.

    2. @StrontiumDog Yes, I loved that picture on Anna’s Instagram account :) I also like the curled looking, style F horns as they look more feminine to me.

Editing rather than adding another post: I was able to pre-order a Dragoness. I’m so excited! :) I’m hoping there will be more dragons ordered so we can see them here :)

    3. Elf girls casting is supposed to done the end of October so we’re getting closer to when they’ll be shipped out to us :)

I had some ideas about characters for my girls, but now it’s changing - I’ll have to wait and see about clothes and everything once they’re here. I’m also not sure if I’ll have to make something for them or if I’ll be able to buy something already made for them.

    4. Good point about shipping, fingers crossed:thumbup...although I am always a little cautious about timings.

Hmmmm...yeah, kinda the same here with regard to kitting my girl out.

Being very realistic, in the current situation and uncertainty with work, am going to have to be very careful and give a lot of consideration to what I can afford. Looking a bit doubtful for a Dragon right now:atremblin

    5. If it’s any consolation @StrontiumDog , I had to back out myself. The price for the arm parts hadn’t been on the website so I signed up. However, once I found out the price I had to back out and request my slot be given to somebody else. It’s just not a good time for me!

    6. @StrontiumDog The timing may not be right this year for a dragon, but maybe next pre-order timing will be better. Hopefully everything gets back to normal soon. I’m looking forward to seeing your Elf girl once she’s home :)

@nattherat Hopefully next preorder timing will be better. I’ve been looking for more owner pictures of the dragons. Do you know where the best place to look would be?

    7. @Inspired Thanks! However I am actually going to mod my own arms instead. I have already extensively modified my dragon, so why not change the engineering itself?

have you tried the Instagram tag? That’s where I post mine, and there are a good few on there. I haven’t tagged mine more recently though because I completely remade the face and it seemed a bit weird to tag it when the original head sculpt doesn’t remain any more. I’m not sure about that still haha. Anyway, there are a bunch on Instagram!

    8. @nattherat Thank you very much for the Instagram link. I’m following now :)

It’s interesting to see how everyone makes these dolls their own. It’s one of the things I love about the hobby :)

    9. @nattherat - sorry to hear the new arms aren't a possibility for you, but really hope your modifications go well.
@Inspired - thank you...and likewise. All the variations with the different sculpts and colours is indeed one of the great things about this hobby.
Is there some kind of Elf head mannequin on Anna's Instagram? I have been reading up/watching how-to videos on hard cap wigs and something like that head base would be fantastic.

    10. @StrontiumDog It looks like Anna is working on a wig manikin from what she’s posted on Instagram. She didn’t like the material she used and will be trying something else.

    11. Ah...thanks for the info @Inspired. Hope she can make it work...would be so useful.

    12. Just wanted to drop in and say I went ahead with modding my She Is A Dragon since the updated arms were out of my budget!

I've made her a brand new double-joint instead, which also extends the arm length and gives nice proportions. Chopping up the existing arm pieces was pretty scary since it's not as though I'd be able to get any replacements, let alone in this older colour! Here's the prototype for fit and mobility:
She can now reach anywhere pretty much, and I love what it does for her expressive-ness. Sorry the photo is a little blown out. I will be cleaning up the design a bit before printing it in resin - it will remain generally "knobbly" though, if anybody is wondering. I like articulation above all, and the top sphere works excellently as a mobility joint. I actually might make new hands for her too! After all, it sort of feels like I may as well go all in at this stage!

    13. Wow! @nattherat . That is awesome! She looks very happy with the modifications :)

    14. Wow, she looks super cool!! :D

    15. Thanks both! :) I have updated the design with some locks that mirror the locks at the ankles so she can easily keep her arm extended or from twisting until it is time to do so. I’ll prototype hands next but I am waiting until I have multiple parts in need of printing before going into resin (not that I am far off; this is the fourth doll I have made entirely new parts for, and all four need their parts printing). I keep thinking I might make a modding megathread over in the project forum, it would probably be a better place to post my She Is A Dragon, as she’s deviating a fair bit from the original sculpt.

    16. @nattherat I love that new face!

I wonder if it's possible to just use that 3d printed parts in PLA(?) in the picture without casting or printing them in resin? They look good already! And would they affect the movement or scratch the resin parts if we simply use the 3d parts? I've never had 3d print so I am curious

    17. @robin raihana Thank you! :D I feel since we are talking 3D printed stuff, I should quickly emphasise that the face is epoxy sculpted.

As for prints; It is possible yes! I have been using PLA parts for a few years. PLA is perfectly fine. If you print at a high enough resolution, it is very smooth, so I have never had it scratch. You could even sand it to make extra sure.

I am switching to resin because my parts for all these dolls need to be dyed, and PLA and resin take dye very very differently. To ensure I get a better colour match, resin is best for me.

    18. That's great to hear that we can use the 3d printed parts directly! and yeah I just assumed the face was also 3d printed XD

Also if you do end up posting a modding megathread please let us know :3nodding:

    19. I’m finally getting my own! I was wondering though, do people usually leave them blank? I haven’t seen many pictures of them with faceup and body blushing. If you have blushed yours, I would love to see it.
