1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

SQ-Lab Discussion Thread

Feb 27, 2012

    1. Just a quick question ^_^ is there any SD size resin body from a different company that will go with SQlab head?

    2. I'm guessing any body will do. But you'll need to keep the knot on the top pretty thin so that it can go through the hole in the SQ Lab's heads and then put an S hook so it won't go off the head.
      Hope this helps x'D

    3. Congratulations FairEmma! She looks wonderful!

I also agree with keeping a running tab of clothes that'll fit these girls. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll end up having her in oversized clothes for a while.

Pity about the Tsubaki eye size. But, there are ways around that I'm guessing.

    4. FairEmma>Thank you for posting a picture of her and telling us what you think about her quality! I would be scared to death to even think of stringing a doll. I am glad it came well strung! Where do you find the hook for stringing you mentioned? I am happy for you!! I hope they put her up for sale again someday soon so I can buy one! Please post more of your pictures when you get her faceup done. Do you think it would be hard to change her hands for different ones? I will keep looking here for more pictures! Thank you again for all the information!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!:D

    5. hi i was wondering if anyone has thought about trying DDS clothes on the SG body i think she is really close in height.

    6. There isn't much difference between DDII and DDS bodies, DDS body just has a narrower waist. A lot of Volks DD clothes fit both bodies perfectly. The height difference isn't that much either. And I think SG body is a little bigger than regular MSD? Not sure if the DDII/DDS clothes will fit them.

    7. I'd be cautious assuming any SD-size resin body will work with SQLabs's heads. The SQLab heads have a smaller head joint than would fit on many necks. The neck on the SQLabs body is thinner than that on many other SD-sized bodies. The hole in the SQLabs head is small, but all you need to do with the body's elastic is untie the knots, slip the elastic ends through the head hole, and knot them on the inside. Only a little bit of extra work. ;)

Why not start a request for hybrid images in Picture Requests? I'm sure many of us would love to see the various combination possibilities!

Thanks, CP! Talk to Taralphiel about fear of stringing! ;) I think all of us are afraid of it until we first do it, and then we're no longer afraid of it. You can find hooks for head/wrist/feet attachment on a number of sites. Volks sells sets of them. Luts sells them. I tend to look to Cool Cat (google it). You want to get small ones ... In lieu of someone being able to tell me exactly what worked, I'd try both MSD-sized and YoSD-sized hooks, because it's a pain to have to order twice.

No, I don't think it would be hard to change for different hands, provided the new hands fit the wrists. The thread SQLabs uses to attach the hands isn't really necessary ... you can just as easily attach a hook to the hand.

I'm not hugely familiar with the intricacies of the DDs. But I have an Azone outfit made for DDs. I'd hoped it would fit my SD10 girl, and it almost does, with the exception the doll's waist is a tad too big. I tried this outfit on my Tsubaki and was disappointed it didn't fit. The SQLabs body has a very narrow waist and a bounty of thigh/hip. That discrepancy makes fitting difficult (so does the larger, perkier bust!!).

None of the MSD-sized clothing I have here fits her well. Trousers simply will not go over her thighs/hips. I was able to squeeze on an SDC pair of trousers, but the top still looked silly because of her breasts ... she wound up looking like she was dressed in a maternity top.

She's now sitting in a dress that fits closely to the very-small-breasted SD10 girl body. It's a bit wide in the shoulders, doesn't fit well over the bust and still makes her look like she's in maternity wear. But at least it's something. ;)

I don't think this is a height thing as much as a body dimensions/proportions thing.

    8. FairEmma could u write size of neck? i try to put head from sq on boys body ;> (the worst thing will be compare resin :(

    9. FairEmma>Thank you for answering my questions! Again, can't wait to see more photos of your new girl!!:)

    10. Roughly 8cm. That's considerably smaller than Volks SD-sized necks. The head part of the neck joint is slightly bigger, but it's not going to be big enough for what I think you're trying to do. :(

I'll do my best ... where does the day go?? ;)

    11. Ahahaha, yes, I am a reformed paranoid re-stringer. That's a fine title, isn't it? :P

I was SO scared of damaging or not being able to put my doll back together. But once I got the right tools (FairEmma's suggestions are spot on) and realised that the doll can always be put back together, even if you need a little help, I grew some confidence.

And it wasn't as hard as I thought. You need a little bit of upper body strength, but it's not so bad. Get the hook/head puller, and the re-stringing tool, and you are very much set! :)

No order update from me, really. No shipping notice as of yet.
