1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

SQ-lab SG Discussion Thread # 2

Dec 24, 2012

    1. I bought a second hand SG body and it arrived yesterday. I love it so much!! Now I just need to find a hybrid head that fits...

    2. (So going on and off the idea of getting one...)

But how are the legs on the SG body? I remember that video review where the reviewer (I just cannot remember who that was...) stated how the legs "clasp together" making it hard to stand or pose perhaps...
As in she could not get her doll to spread her legs apart. Is that something you all have encountered?

    3. I also got a SG body, it's very beautiful sculpted and nice to look at her - but the posing is not very good... The legs cannot really hold a spread position and it's true, while standing her legs clasp together and she always looks like she'd desperately needs a restroom. It was a little better without the heel feet, but heel feet together with heeled shoes are aweful.
My girl is also wearing a heavy wig, so she always bends back, legs clasped together and her feet bend as if she cannot walk in high heels.

    4. just to update, the claim was responded to and shipping will be next week so hopefully that's most of us

    5. They responded to my email as well and mentioned that shipping period has been keeping them busy. My missing items will be shipped out soon! Phew!

    6. Oh man... that does not speak in its favor... Thanks, Sadomina!
      Glad I asked.

    7. Hi I was wondering when anyone who has the Navi head and a sadol 63 girl body could it be possible to hybrid them because I wanted to get the 60 cm body but I don't know if it doesn't stand and pose well.

    8. May I ask but anyone knows the neck girth of the SG body?

    9. SQ Lab told me it's only 7.5cm.

    10. so could a 9 cm fits? Someone here has a LM Sarubia in SG body and it's a good proportion

    11. SQlab replied to be today (11/5/13), 13 days later.

I am slightly confused why there was a paypal claim made. About 1 month turn around is pretty quick for any company really. Was there additional reasons to be concerned? To my understanding they only have like 1 english speaking rep. :(

    12. I made because the promised shipping date was early October and I am tired of companies promising dates and dragging on and on, accepting more orders without any delay notice whatsoever. In short it doesn't seem like practice one should put up with. It is the maker himself who replies in English. He posts on other forums as well.

    13. Biff- Although SQ lab is a small company, they did promise shipping in early oct for the recent preorder and they did not update if there is a shipping delay etc. I suppose people will not mind the wait but needed them to respond to enquiries or give updates. I see Mlittarin's point of view. Right now what makes the wait bearable is I am shopping for my expected new SQ Miyuki - wigs and outfits etc. Hope her new stuff arrive together with her. Anyone know if the DG61 body will fit SD13 or SD16 Cheery doll outfit? I am interested in this outfit for my new girl

Shoes wise, I am looking out for sd16 heel platforms.

    14. Does anyone happen to have any of the sqlab heads in resin normal skin to compare to a luts realskin normal body? I have a SQlab Hibiki that I got way back off here and at the time I was told it was 'normal' which I thought was just dollfie dream normal (which is a bit darker), but she matches realskin normal luts really well... i just want to make sure before I order another head in that same color. I'd hate to just take a guess and hope the resin color I'm needing is NSResin from Sqlab.

Btw - for anyone complaining about Sqlab taking a while. It could just be hersay, but I remember having an order way way waaaaay back on another forum that was huge and someone alerted me that sqlab is run by like one person (maybe more since then) and they also have a day job on top of it? Can't say if it's 100% true or not, but they aren't a huge company like volks, luts, etc so they do good work, just takes them a while. I love them since they're the best alternative to DDs for anime heads with stark variety (though their recent body sculpts look pretty awesome too o_o) : )

    15. Not to sound paranoid or turn this thread negative, but to explain my reaction:

I don't think he's really taking a long time compared, it's just that people asked if there would be delay about certain services and he said none, which is ... not true. Part of the reason I purchased was that she would be shipped in early October. This hobby has a history of popular companies who choose to leave their customers hanging... SQ Lab as far as I know is only one guy... why would he promise something like 1 month completion? I don't want him to think it's okay to say that or make it a habit so I tell him using Paypal. To me that's more effective even if it might be harsh.

Still I can't wait to receive her :) the body is sculpted so beautifully you can tell he's someone who pays attention to the little details of the female body. KaIsUki I'm doing the same, shopping and gathering things for her so the wait isn't too excruciating :P

    16. I understand. I was thinking they meant the first batches would be shipped in early October, which I think has somewhat held true. I certainly would prefer my order getting here before my 45 days are up as well. :)

I'm a bit unhappy as well due to the slow communication, but I really want the doll and their turnaround is still a lot better then some so I guess I'm still hopeful. I'm doing my best to gather more info since there's a lack of SQlab ordering instructions and not a lot of order info right now I'd like to help fill in the gaps.

@mangaemi: Theoretically speaking, it should be the DD normal color (normal skin) that matches. The other resin color is meant to match Volks (real skin) and I'm pretty sure that Luts realskin is darker and pinker then Volks, like DD.

Yea, I heard that same thing too so I'm trying to give them more slack. >_<

    17. Does anyone have real white sqlab comparison with other companies? Would be interesting to see what else will match their real white :)

    18. Okay, I checked the second package again and I got all the hands I ordered that were missed out previously. One of them was wrapped in newspaper instead of bubble wrap and I didn't see much when I rummaged in it. x_x;

    19. Took a comparison pic today for SQ-Lab's Real White skin.
Too bad I don't own a white skin Volks doll. SQlab's is slightly yellower than a Unon white.

    20. @Biff
Well the only reason why I'm wondering if their resin normal skin is different is because I have another SQlab DD normal skin color and it is way way waaaaaaay darker. So I can only guess that maybe this one sqlab head that I have is more of the resin normal skin color which matches very well with the luts normal skin.
