SQ-lab SG Discussion Thread # 2

Here is my comparison at last, sorry. My SQ Lab SG hybrid on the left, SQ Lab DG59 hybrid on the right. Both are wearing high heels. The difference between them seems so small in this pic... It seems much bigger irl.

Oh wow, wonderful comparison pic there Evelien! I can't decide which I like more..I love both the stylised tiny SG body and the slightly greater amount of realism in the proportions of the SG59 equally. The hands seem to give away the size difference the most from what I can see there, though.

Just had my order of SG hands and antlers arrive today...gorgeous! The SG hands are so beautifully dainty Only problem is, now I need a body to go with them. The resin is much too pink to match with my Dearmine Girl, who is supposed to be a resin colour match for Volks SD girls (the original Dearshine Diana heads were released before Dearmine had a chance to release a matching body - hence the resin matching) so I ordered the Real Skin option, assuming it would similarly be a match according to what SQ Lab claim. Now, as I don't have a Volks SD to compare resin tones with, I'm left with 2 pairs of gorgeous hands which are much too pink to match my Dearmine girl and a Dearmine girl who I am thinking is probably too apricot a pink to really be a match for Volks NS anyway :P Oh well, it just means now I have my excuse to get an SG girl in the future ^^ At least next time I know not to worry about the lack of communication, they do come though in the end

This is sort of a silly question, but for the extra hands parts for the DG61 body, is $30 per pair of $30 for the set with all the pairs? I assumed it was per pair but the wording is a little confusing

Hmm well when I clicked on the link they provided for "free choice gallery" or whatever it says, it took me to a list of just about all the heads possible. So I'mma go for it! I just sold a bunch of my Monster High dolls so I should have just enough to get me a Miyuki with face up I do love the free shipping they offer on dolls.

Ah! Thanks so much for the comparison pic! You're right, it doesn't look like a huge difference, but I can already tell I'm gonna love the new bod! I like that they've changed the knees, I always feel like I'm going to break my 52 girl when I straighten them.

 

A while ago someone asked if the Navi head would look good on the 53cm SG body. Here's a crappy shot from the day I bought my DG59 body at Think Pink. On the left is my SG body, on the right the DG59 body with the sleeping Navi head still on it. Judging from this pic I'm afraid that that head on the SG body would look bobble headed...

 

Thanks for the comparison pic, Evelien! Yes, Navi head would definitely look too big on the Sg body, and comparing the neck sizes there would be quite a bit of gapping too.
I can't believe how beautiful the knees are on the DG59 body! It looks amazing overall.
Where do you get the clothes for your SG girl?

 

I'm sorry, I'm no help at all in that department... I never buy clothes for my dolls, I (attempt to) make them myself.

Speaking of my SG girl, she should be getting a new head tomorrow. I'm away from home right now but my boyfriend accepted my Dollstown Soyu head for me today. When I get home tomorrow, she'll be waiting for me to try her on that body... I can't wait!!

 

What's up with the new feet part? Do the bodies typically come with just high he leg parts? So if you want the optional wear flat shoes yu have to buy the extra leg and feet parts?

 

Can anyone tell me does a Dreaming doll head fit a SG 53 cm body not a DG61 or SG59 cm

 

I have a Dreaming Doll sweet Rio head on a SG 53cm body. Rio head is in between a SD and MSD size, so Proportion wise it looks great. There is a slight gapping but not very noticeable. The S hook fits perfectly, but if you shake the doll her head would wobble a little. I'm sure a kip on the neck joint will fix that problem but I dont have one at the moment >.< but movement is great. I'll take a pic for you later today!

My Dollstown Soyu head on the SQ Lab SG body. I think I found the doll I want my SG girl to be

 

Errr I am such an idiot! I only just realised the pre-orders are opened for ALL their bodies, not just the new 59cm one
Now makes my decision much harder... *flips coin*

What skintone is she?

 

She is Dreaming Doll NS, which is a close match for SQ real skin. She is on the SQ NS body though ... As I don't have a real skin body yet!

 

I wanted to try that hybrid although I wanna use Ddoll Sally or LM Sarubia (Rio's look-alike!)
Anyways is it a great match in NS? Do Rio and Sally have same head girth?

 

Umm ... Judging from the Ddoll website pics i would say Rio head is the smallest of all their girl sculpts. It says her head is 8-9 size but any 8-9 wig is wayyy too big on her! LM Sarubia is bigger than Rio, Cats10 on this forum has her Sarubia head on the SG body, she needed a few kips ... Apparently Sarubia head has a big neck hole and is wobbly on the SG body.

 

Oh I see, can I see the Rio unclothed? I wanna see the proportions
