SQ-lab SG Discussion Thread # 2

Four months, no doll and no communication other than an email in May saying they were going to send it but nothing since then. Buyers beware!

 

Hi everyone - I am just starting to get into the anime-style dolls. I love the DDs but I am worried about the vinyl staining, that seems really annoying, so imagine how excited I was to find this thread and that SQ Labs are doing bodies now! But I'm sad to hear about the problems ordering from them.

Which leads me to - it looks like they are doing a pre-order for the DG61 body and head, which I would love to get, but then the page itself says the preorder ended in March!! So confusing. I think I will definitely have to wait and see if their customer service picks up, or if any dealers get them back in stock...

I really hope they get themselves together! I love their heads and I really would like to order from them but it's rather difficult when they don't answer e-mails.

 

I've just now started to have an interest in Anime style faces, and I wanted an SQLab Iris or Tachibana, but it doesn't look like they're the best to order from right now.

Also is there anyplace to get more information on their resin colors? I'm trying to match to a very pale NS and the White Skin they have (not the real white skin) seems like it would work.

 

I'm not sure about comparison threads or info off the top of my head, but I'd be happy to snap a comparison photo of my SQ girl's resin against another doll I own. Were there any specific companies you'd be interested in particular?

 

I have an Ariadoll body that is headless. I'd love to get a SQLab head for her, and at some point move that to a 2D Doll body. But my Ariadoll is from the 2013 batch which has the NS as might lighter than Volks Normal skin.

 

Five months now and no doll. Those scumbags at Paypal closed my dispute and are letting SQ Labs get away with stealing my money and not delivering anything. I would caution people that something must be going on over there with them. We've seen doll makers fail before and take users money with them.

 

Whaaaa? Wow, I don't think I've ever seen paypal not side with the buyer. Did they give a reason?

 

Paypal for some reason coded my initial dispute incorrectly and then when I put in the second one it was listed as non-receipt of item but it fell outside the 60 day window so they have said they can't do anything at all. Which is pretty lame for an international transaction. I asked them if they were a clearing house for fraudulent transactions? What really makes me mad is that SQ Labs when they got the first dispute in May said they were going to ship that week then didn't. Almost like they realized that if they waited I would fall outside the 60 day window. In any event, I'm out $300 and SQ Labs is obviously not shipping me anything since I've made repeated requests over the last few months and not heard a word. Probably they saw my dispute get closed and figured they could spend the cash.

 

That's disappointing I really want the Tachibana sculpt. I hope they turn things around soon. They have the coolest doll sculpts.

 

I sent an order email and d didn't hear back, came to the thread to see what their reply time was. Disappointed to see they aren't replying or shipping.

 

SQ-lab sells heads and stuff on Yahoo Japan Auctions, is their service over there okay? I wonder if that's a better way to buy from them, even if it costs more with proxy fees.

 

If there's a Miyuki for sale on Yahoo Auctions I'm gonna try to pick her up over there. Waiting for my Shopping Mall Japan account to activate.

 

Is it their own account on Y!J or a dealer for them? Either way, their feedback seems to suggest successful delivery of items consistently and as recently as this month. Perhaps it is a dealer with a large stock-holding? One of the review says there was up to half a month wait (le gasp, not a whole 2 weeks!) which makes me even more confused than ever.

You and me both lol :P They still haven't activated my deposit so I can't do anything at the moment. Grrr the wait!!

Maybe they lost their English speaking rep and can't get another one or something? Or they decided their webpage is too much work and only want to see through Y!J? Unfortunately it seems doll companies have a tendency to go "If I ignore a problem long enough it's not a problem" instead of dealing with it. :/

 

I've never used Japan yahoo auctions.... I would though if it meant I could get a tachibana head. :'( my poor doll body has been headless for a year now!

 

Is there a list anywhere of all the dealers for SQ Lab? I would love to try and get a Navi somehow, but I don't want to order through the company itself considering all the problems people are having with them.

Also, does anyone know if SQ Lab will slightly modify their default faceup on request? I would love to get a Navi with their faceup but with dark eyeliner on the upper lid. Do you think they'd put it on for me, or would I have to give it a go myself?

 

What's funny is I tried to contact some of their dealers and never got an answer back there either.

I placed an order for a Miyuki and an Iris through Japan Auction Center. I'll keep you guys updated about when/if I get them and how it goes.

Blank, they were a BIN of 75000 yen + 14000 yen service fee each, so about the same price as listed on the SQ_lab webpage.

I also put in a bid for a super-cute pre-painted Ren, we'll see how that goes :P

Think Pink has some in stock and so does The Little Garden, but both are in europe. The other dealers such as Lysdoll are pre-order only, I think.

I asked them once and they said to just provide pictures of what you want. So I am sure that you only need to ask them to make an alteration. Well... if they start up their international site again.
