I know, she is lovely. I wonder if the "sold" means she has'nt been released yet like other companies do before they actually put the doll up for sale or somehow we missed that she was released? I have been checking the AS website periodically, and have not seen Gerda until now. I think one of us should contact AS and ask if she will be available. I have to go to work, so will see if someone gets a chance to inquire today and if not, I will contact them tonight.

I was this close to ordering Kay, but I'm glad I held off until I saw Gerda. She's really lovely!

I put my order in for Gerda yesterday evening and I haven't heard back from AS yet. Does anybody know how long it usually takes them to reply to email orders? I hope she's not sold out already.

 

I think it was about 24 hours before I got my invoice. Congrats on your Gerda order, Kay isn't available anymore so it is good you got her.

That is how I ordered my snow queen and it worked very well. They responded within 24 hours.

 

I do wonder why they have'nt updated the news thread with an announcement about Gerda and how many heads will be available. They are usually so great about communicating updates.

 

Luckyl: i am guessing that they are in the middle of enjoying their preparations for Chinese New Year. Year of the Dragon this year is a huge celebration and is centered around Janurary 23rd.

 

Oh yes, I bet you are right! I hope they have a Happy Celebration.

I will have my Supiadoll body next week, just in time to try out the Snow Queen head when she comes sometime (hopefully) early in February. I am dying to see if an OOAK outfit I bought on ebay is going to fit her and if it is going to work for her character or not.

 

After 48 hours, I got my invoice from them for Gerda!

I also asked for pictures of the blank head when I ordered, and they very kindly provided some. I don't think these have been posted on their website, so I've reuploaded for those who are curious:



They said it would take about 40 business days for the head to arrive, so I'm expecting her in late March. So excited, ahhh! XD

 

Thanks for sharing those photos Shien! She really is a lovely sculpt! Great idea to ask for photos without the face-up. I am very tempted, but the doll budget is maxed out, so will probably pass. Can't wait to see what you do with your Gerda!

Has anyone seen any larger photos of Gerda's default face-up anywhere? The photos on the AS webpage are quite small.

 

They were small. Maybe they would send you larger ones if you asked?

And although she is very pretty, I decided I can't afford it right now The snow queen and her body took my dolly funds for right now.

I love those blank pictures, I can't wait to see what folks do with her as well.

 

I am in the same boat as you Michu. With 2 heads coming already and just getting a Supiadoll Lina, my doll budget is zilch! I really just wanted to see a more detailed photo of the face-up to get ideas. I really get inspired by default face-ups from talented company artists.

Well, we are about a week out from hopefully starting to get some shipping notices. I can't wait to see these heads in person with lots of photos to see what we all do with them.

 

Luckyl: You ordered yours without a faceup, right? Oh, I can't wait to see how she turns out. Looking more and more at the AS heads, I'm really liking their face-ups as well. However, I'm getting so tempted to buy some of the blank ones I'm seeing in the MP. One of these days I'm going to have to take the plunge and try doing my own face-ups.

 

Still haven't a body for him, but as I could borrow the delf body of my friend's doll to take some photos, here I can at last, present Jourdain my Orchid boy :

 

Yes, once in a while I will order a default face-up, but most of the time I opt to do my own. I really enjoy the process and each head I do I get more confident and learn something. It has taken me a few years to really fine tune my techniques and acquire all the materials that I need, and now I feel I am finally able to get the result I want, most of the time anyway. I will be sure and post lots of spam of my heads when I finish them. I can't wait to see your head with face-up, I know I will probably be inspired to try and take some of the style of the default face-up, but make it my own if it is anything like the promo shots.

I must admit I have also been tempted by the Mr. Rabbit and other AS heads that are in the marketplace right now too. 180.00 for a head without a face-up is out of the range I am willing to pay though.

Teruchan--so cute and sweet. I like it. And I understand about the Gerda head. I managed to hold off but it was a close one.
