Stupidest thing you've ever done with your BJD?

It wasn't as much stupid...as it was silly.

I had ordered my girl, Tanya, at the same time I bought a sailor moon outfit for her--however, the outfit arrived before the doll. I sighed as I opened the package, because I so desperately wanted to see how it looked...on a doll.....

Well...I did anyway. He looked really cute as a sailor senshi...but my god, he was so pissed at me for the longest time.

For the record: The outfit looks a lot better on Tanya than on him.

 

*cough* Er...I have a couple, but the stupidest was probably hanging Rel from a tree four feet off the ground. By *one* leg. I'm really lucky he didn't fall and bust his nose off or something.

edit: There was also breaking off one of his fingers while trying to reposition them. The memory of hearing the *snap* *clatter* is one I won't soon forget.

 

Eh, I tried making my MSD girl breakdance, but failed terribly and ended up with a chipped finger >___>''

 

Have you ever had a real 'Doh!!!' moment with your doll?

Did it turn out OK in the end, or was it a disaster...?

For example, I was touching up my doll's faceup. I sprayed him with MSC, did my touch up, sprayed again and...! DOH! His eyes were still in!!!

I took them out and cleaned them with a bit of rubbing alcohol and gave them a coat of gloss, so it's all OK now xD

Has anyone else ever done something really stupid that's only been your own fault?

I did the exact same thing you did XD I sprayed him while his eyes were still in~ Other than that, I haven't really had the chance to do anything more since I'm still waiting on a body for my boy ^_^

 

I've never really done anything truly stupid (then again I don't do faceups) but I did once draw out a pattern based on the measurements of the doll and somehow it all ended up way way too small. (didn't hurt the doll, but it did waste fabric...)

 

I have one of those pulling tables mounted on rails
I placed my doll standing on the table then I dropped something on the floor while changing his clothes, so I kneel down to pick it up. I forgot the doll is standing on the table so I pushed the table to give way so I can kneel down to pick the item up. Bang ~!! the whole doll fell onto the floor...T T
The whole hip flew off, luckily it was butt down first, so there was no injuries on face or head or hands.
I have to hot glue the butt back~ he's ok now~ whew...

 

When I got the little couch my dolls sit on, it had feet on it that made it too tall for my minis. One of the legs was loose, though, so I decided to just remove them all. I sat the now-legless couch down on my bed and put my boys (only 2 at the time) on it to see the proportions - it worked pretty well, just looked like an intentionally oversized couch.

Then my brain left me and I decided to move it to where it belongs on top of a dresser. With both boys still sitting on it. Riddick didn't make the trip, and ended up sprawled on the hardwood floor. It was the first fall any of mine had, and I was so scared he might have broken! Fortunately he was fine, no damage, but it was still scary.

 

I did something dumb recently.
I had this glass of Pepsi next to my bed and it'd been there for a few days
Anyway, the boxes with my dolls and my sisters dolls in them are right next to the table which had the pepsi on it. During the night I accidentially whacked my arm on the table when I was getting up and I heard a 'thunk'....and I didn't really think much of it.
Next day we had some relatives over and my sister showed them her Yeon Ho, which has a body now......when I was putting him back in his, shared, box I noticed that the blanket that covers both boxes was....wet.....so were both box lids....Needless to say I panicked.......
All the dolls were fine, the pepsi had collected on the lids but hadn't gone through.....
I'm so lucky that none of them got damaged........I would have felt so guilty...I'll definitely be more careful from now on......

 

i tried to carry ALL of my dolls at once....and dropped a tiny. in order to pick him up i put my B&G Sapphira laying down on the table...and he somehow managed to roll off. of course this resulted in Wyn breaking an ear D:
luckily ive since replaced and even have a whole extra pair just in case. i dont try and carry them all anymore...especially since ive acquired a few more since then....

 

My doll(Lauren) was fall down from the table because I didn't use stand, and his head crash my face very heavy. Luckily, he was safe, I think if he has a life he will feel very angry me that time.... *cry*

 

I left my doll in a room full of kittens. He was fine but I did scare me to walk into a room and see 3 little playful kittens running back and forth across his lap!

 

Only one I can think of off the top of my head at this time.
First meetup I ever went to, almost a year ago now. Didn't have a proper bag to stick my doll in, so he ended up in the first bag I could find. On the exit from London's lovely underground system, I accidentally ended up whacking him right into one of the ticket barriers. Sat down after finding people and retrieved him from my bag. That one whack into the barriers knocked his headcap aside (its held on by the hook over a resin bridge, so it stayed on his head), left a large dirty streak from his brow ridge to the edge of his headcap, left a blue mark on his hand (the last thing that was in that bag was blue and had leaked, that mark is still there, cannot get it off) and also made minute chips in his left thumb and left wrist ball.
I'd only had him two months and made a mess of him ^^; I learned by lesson though, if I have a doll on me, I walk sideways through the barriers, they don't get hit then

 

While staying with my sister I kept My tiny on the floor next to my bed... One morning my sister thought it would be funny to let her dog in to wake me up... Luckly my tiny only had a small scuff on him face at the end of that...

 

i have a few:

i did a shoot outside and needed somewhere to put my guys so i decided to carry them all inside and put them down on the beanbag... which my cat sleeps on. he proceeded to try sleep on all 5 dolls at once :O every time i turned around there he was again!!! i also left them there in a hurry to get to uni and was sitting in physio when i was like OH NO unprotected dolls!!! i rushed home as fast as i could and proceeded to go over all fingers and toes with a magnifying glass. luckily no one was eaten.
they were still on the beanbag and i flopped down on the floor in front of the computer (its on the floor i have no furniture :S) and accidentally kicked hunter in the face TWICE! he was fine but i decided that the beanbag was no longer a safe place.

i was also trying to restring my mums doll for the first time and decided that a chopstick would be good for holding the S hook out of the neck. the doll was strung to tight and the chopstick snapped in half and flew up under my glasses and hit me in the eye. i couldn't see out of the eye for a few days and that eye still goes blurry occasionally.

 

..^^; I just did this...I get...bored... And I like shiny stuff >__>

Oh! And forgot to add!
Well, I love my little brother soo much, but don't get to see him that much...;w;...and so I was letting him chase me...I had my messanger bag with me, which is pretty much Danny's carrying case to me. Well..I fell down when boom on pavement, landing on top of my bag.
He=perfectly fine.
Me= ...it still hurts ;__; And its tuesday, I fell on saterday, ouchieeeeee ;__; My knees are..brusied and cut, my elbow= looking disgusting, feeling horrible..

 

I fell asleep with sayuri..AND my dog on the bed. My dog then decided to chew on her ear! She's getting it fixed soon but i haven't let my dog on my bed or anywhere near my doll for quite some time and i think it will stay that way. Sayuri on the other hand has gotten nothing but being spoiled since then.

 

I was bringing Hinako (a HDF Pudding) to my grandparent's house on Christmas morning and my family was running a bit late. I was rushing around to find a bag to put her in, and came across a bright red gift bag. I thought it would be fine, so I put Hinako and one of her box cushions in the bag. When I got to my grandparent's house I took her out and she had a bright red spot on the tip of her nose O.O Luckily I could easily rub it off, but it definitely freaked me out XP Needless to say, she did not go back in that bag.

 

Err...i was changing my doll's shoes and when i was investigating to see if I had done anything wrong, he kicked me dead on in my left eyes, it hurt like a thousand bees stinging me.
And day before yesterday...i think, his foot snapped of cause the S hook snapped, and after my brothers helped me get it back on, when I held him, he bowed, smacking me on the head, and I swear, I saw stars, that was how painful it was. Lol
