Stupidest thing you've ever done with your BJD?

hhehe. Well, I first posted in this thread back in 05, my doll kiyoshi was still newish.
Since then he's been posed on shallow waterfals, in trees, hanging over the edge of bridges, you get the idea.

The other day we were having a garage sale and I had sat him up on the edge of the fence so I could grab some boxes, when we closed the gate, he went clopsaing to the ground, face first. >.<

Minor scratch in face up and OMG his ear broke at the seam. I glued, blushed and fixed the face up..you cant tell at all. It was kind of funny actually.

 

this post both horrified me and had me rolling on the floor I'm glad you won in the battle to save his wig from your koi!

 

Somehow managing to kick one of my dolls in the face while getting out of bed. My dolls sit against my bedhead, tucked in next to my large chest of drawers so there´s no way I can even get out of bed there... Somehow I´d managed to totally turn myself around in my sleep and was tying to get out of bed the wrong way.

 

The most absurd thing that have ever occured to me while playing with my dolls is probably once when I were about to re-do Akira's face-up. Had brought everything I would need to my desk, sat down with brush in one hand just about to start and had a strange feeling something was missing. What was it? Well, hm, Nineveh... How about a doll head? *head desk* -_-;;;;

 

*On the last meet, I was playing with a friend's doll when I realized that if I moved up one of his arms, the other moved up also!
And I was playing to rising one arm while laughing like an idiot shouting "he's alive!! he's alive!!....
...then I was told he had wiring on both arms. I'm planning to do this with one of my dolls because it's soo much fun!


*When Charlotte (AiL Elijah) arrived, I was trying to put the teeth plate, locked the headcap, then I put my finger on his lips and the teeth plate moved and he literally BITE me. It took me a while to be able to think rationally what happened. Still no rational reason but well, madness on Charlotte is allowed

*I disassembled the left hand of my L-bi to clean a stain. When I finished to clean it, I came back to my L-bi... and took off the right hand, put the left hand on right hand place and vice-versa...when I watched him looking as the "wrong side hand pirate" I realized my stupidness and had to restring him again

 

Ahahaha....these are really funny- yet slightly horrifying X3

I don't have a BJD yet, but I do have some semblance of a story. Airbrush and Acetone. ><;;;

I was trying to clean my mum's airbrush machine ( she's a nail tech and I help her out to earn money for my first). So I left the ti pof the airbrush machine in the acetone/nailpolish remover...and got up close to make sure it was being cleaned properly by pulling the trigger back....of course I'd forgotten to unplug it and pressed down at the same time. Ow my eyeeeees >.O;;;;
...then I realised it was the non-acetone nail polish remover.....phew~ At least I didn't hurt myself too badly...butt that makes be abit scared for if I do have to do things like faceups *cringe*

It had only been about a week since I got my doll, and I had her standing on my desk. I left the room for 3 seconds, and she decided to dive-bomb the floor.

No damage, luckily, but it did scare me half to death.

 

Oh, I have one!

First photoshoot I decided to do with Sora (LTF Shiwoo) I stupidly decided to photograph him in the tree. I pose him, sitting all cute, looking down from his branch, giving a wave. I'm crouched down on the ground, looking up, focusing the camera... when a gust of wind blows and blows him out of the tree. It all sort of happened in slow motion as I looked down the lens. I reached out, trying to catch him... I broke his fall, but all I succeeded in catching was his wig... thankfully he was fine - no scratches, though his leg clicks a lot when I move it. I checked and nothing was broken... but still... worst thing ever. Rune (CP/Luts Lu-Wen) hasn't had a fall like that....

 

Sometimes my little Lin sits on my desktop when I work, but once in a while I forget she is there and accedently push her of the edge. Fortunatly I manage to chatch her every time (so far) before she hit the floor.

 

what I did wasn't stupid but more or less just silly

I got her body yesterday.... and thought it'd be cool to do the soulja boy dance..... yeah it was really just idiotic... but entertaining as well

 

ok, i think this is pretty stupid.

ive had my MD Ryu since September of 08. i bought him second hand and he was on a Volks SD13 body. i was never a huge fan of the body but i loved the doll and he fit his character so i ignored the fact that i couldnt get him to pose, and the head movement was awkward. soon i began to neglect him....i never got him new clothes (its so hard to find him any that i liked), i wasnt photographing him, he sat on a shelf and i didnt do anything with him. i kept telling myself it was the clothes problem, but recently id gotten him some pants and a shirt i really liked....but he still wasnt right.

a couple of months ago i got a B&G Afra head and bought a used Iplehouse body to put him on. it had some issues, and i was willing to work them out when i had the time, but it was much the same as the MD/Volks problems. he was a little awkward.

last week i decided to sell the volks body, but as i didnt want David (Ryu) to go away for the time it would take to sell it and get him a new body, i took the afra off the IP and put the Ryu on it. it was amazing...he was perfect. it was like a whole new wonderful doll!! i was in love all over again, even his clothing fits him better and looks right on him now. he moves better and matches who he should be perfectly. i was so happy...but i missed having Shae (afra) around.

today after attending a dollmeet where i had brought all my dolls minus the Afra i decided to try him on the Volks body, even if it was temporary, at least he'd be around. turns out its a perfect match. not only does the B&G fit on the Volks better than the IP, it looks better, moves better and is more proportionate. he looks natural!! nothing like the doll-like stiffness the MD had on the Volks body. and since my Ryu looks so much better on the iplehouse...

so yeah. i find myself feeling so stupid with this solution. i should have tried it before, when i first got that iplehouse body instead of spending so much time unhappy with two dolls when all i had to do was switch their heads...*fail*

 

I don't have a doll yet but I'm waiting so this happened to me more than I did it.

I was asked to come to a doll meet at a convention I go to. Everyone was really nice leting me see and hold their babys. But one girl, who had alot of dolls handed me her boy and then LEFT! She just went out of the room and never came back. It was one of the Soom monthly dolls. After almost everyone was gone the girl who was in charge and I started looking for her. We found her the next day crying and looking everywhere for him. She didn't even remember she left him with me. she thought she had just set him down. That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen done with a doll.

 

"Oh yeah, he's sturdy. He'll totally stand on one foot in the wind like this. Look at the faceup I spent so much time on! I love it! Especially the eyebrows! Here, let's get him on one foot next to this rough cement wall! Brilliant!"

Hmm. Stupidest thing? Probably would be the day I packed both my doll and my laptop computer into a flimsy kid's-sized rolling suitcase and literally dragged them around Baltimore Inner Harbor with me all day whilst waiting to be able to check into our hotel for Otakon. My thinking was that it would be better for both not to be left closed up in the hot car for 5+ hours. Never mind the fact that among other plans my sister and I wanted to ride in the Chesapeake paddle boats...and that I'd therefore be forced to take my "luggage" aboard the tiny craft with us, perched precariously near deep water and placed in direct and baking hot sunlight for half-an-hour straight. Sho's arm (the one which had been pressed up against the computer) has never been quite the same - it now sits closer against his body than the other side. Miraculously, though, he sustained no worse injuries. Not even an eyeball out of place. And thankfully, no computers were harmed during this momentary lapse in judgement. XD

 

I JUST got June's head back from a commission and was carrying her around. I had a cold that day too and was trying to rush everyone out the door, my son likes to close the door behind us, anyway I ran back in while he was trying to close the door lost my balance an june poped out of my hand. Upon inspection I found she landed on her nose and instead of having her cute ball nose, it's a little flat...

 

XD this is the best thread ever since Funny/Horrible BJD Stories XD XD XD I can't wait to get my boy...and do...stupid things to him... XD *dies*

 

La la la! Vladimir's so pretty....Hey wait, I have an idea! Let's go out in the pouring rain to take pictures! *piles everything on the friend* And let's us the flimsy pastic parasol we got 4 years ago and see if it holds up!

And it DID! He never got wet or anything! But looking back, it was the stupidest thing I've ever done.

 

Stood Adrien on the hood of my friend's car. He fell face-first into the ground. Lucky, the only thing that broke/got damaged in anyway was his head cap busted a nice, big, clean chunk out of it. He's fixed now, and can't even tell he's been broken. ^_^v
