Stupidest thing you've ever done with your BJD?

Was waiting for Kwangs new wig today and heard the doorbell ring. Now right now I have a messed up knee so Im not trying to walk on it. As soon as I heard the doorbell I jumped up and literally SLID myself to the door and almost slammed into the door. Then I recieve wig, limp back inside and almost slice my hand off trying to open the box. Finally get the wig on him and he slams his head back into the parrot perch and I thought his headcap was done for sure. Note: just fixed magnet in headcap from another stupid incident...taking him out in the heat for like 5 hours which melted the glue around the magnet.....
I figure I need to just be more careful.....I get a little overly excited.

lol! i love this thread! i have a story that doesnt amount to any of these.
i was putting a sock over my gurls hed, and just after i took the photo and removed the sock, her headcap and wig came off. i took a picture without relizing the headcaop and wig wer off, and wen i did relize they were gone, i was looking for them, and i looked for 5 mins, until i found they were still in the sock.
i did this again, and while takin the sock off, the wig went flying across the room, and the headcap was stillon the dpoll.

 

thinking that the souldoll toes were weird since the bigger toe is away a bit from the rest and looked a bit webbed. i thought id remove the "webbing" and separate it.
...oops. T_T
i accidentally took off a bit of the bottom of her big toe.
but hey, at least you dont notice it unless your stairing at her feet? ^^;

 

I can stop reading all the horror stories!!!
I guess this doesn't count as something stupid I did to my DOLL, it's more, something stupid I did to myself.
I'm currently on vacation with my mother at my grandparent's summer home on Flathead Lake, MT. My dad and brother are back home in MN. I ordered my doll thinking that it'd be great because she'd be there when I got home. Well... waiting sucks.
I've been tracking her the entire week and now I KNOW she's home, but I still have a day before I get to see her!!!! 0.o (Stupid, stupid stupid.)
Patientens is a virture I suppose....
I'm sure once she's out of the packaging, she'll get dropped a few times. The hardest thing will be keeping my puppy, Skeeter, away from her. Chewing plastic-like-things is his favorite passtime....

 

My stupidity moment.
Stringing a doll late at night. I've gotten cocky with my dolls, figuring I know almost everything about that. I just got finished studying for a test the next day and looked at my little Erith. He was only strung from waist up and so I decided to finish it before I went to bed.
Come to find out that by the end his feet were backwards! So I took them off to put them back on. His left leg got too tight on my finger so I went to put a pencil in the way. I was cocky at this point and went too fast because I just wanted to sleep. I missed the loop by a lot and let go. The hook jammed inside his body and I swear I heard his resin split.
Needless to say he's fine now and I can't tell if he actually was damaged or not!

 

I haven't had Yumi for long, so I guess the stupidest thing I've done so far is buying a director's chair for her which turned out to be too small and very, very rickety. The eBay ad said it was made of canvas and wood, but if that's wood it's made of it's BALSA wood...very lightweight. And that has to be the lightest canvas I've ever felt...it is more like muslin. Hopefully I'll get a refund, but I still have to send the damn thing back so I'll be out for the return postage. :P

 

I was restringing Aki, my Supia boy onto a male body and was having such a hard time tugging his strings through his calf to loop his foot on. I had his torso between my thighs and was tugging and growling when he shifted and I kid you not, his torso joint almost bit a slice out of my thigh! I have a big pinch welt now and lost my hold on his leg, which shot up into his torso and unstrung himself anyways. Lesson learned.

By far my idiot moment of all time was with my first doll, a KDoll Kill_U. I bought his head and body on the same day and was so excited! I chose a modded CP Girl body (breasts sanded off) and thought he'd be just perfect... until they both arrived. I knew KDolls have a 9/10 wig size but I never thought perhaps the head would be on the large side, while the body and neck was so small. He looked ridiculous on the body and I could have cried. I did get used to it and found his melon-head to be cute, my friend who keeps him agrees so I suppose it worked out.

 

took pictures of them on the coffee table late at night, went to bed leaving them there for the cat to attack. I was lucky, only one hand chewed (didn't notice that untill MONTHS later!) and a pin sized face bite on the other, which went almost completely away when I hit it with the hot hairdryer.

Gawd that was careless....

 

Once while trying to reattach Sakura's head cap the plyers slipped off the S hook and i punched myself in the face really hard. I was a little dazed for a while.

 

LOL i have a story similar to this one. When I got into my second accident (both were not my fault) I had Reios with me, strapped in the front seat of course. Anyways person hit me, i bash my head on the window and then the steering wheel, I'm bleeding and I'm stunned. I try to get out my drivers door (which oddly isn't possible when theres a giant truck on the other side of the door) so i jump out grabbing Reios, my cigarettes and my psp. When i had in the car, a 200 dollar coat, school book my purse and wallet, and i grabbed my doll cigarettes and a psp. lol. Of course when i called 911, and everyone was staring at me i'm acting perfectly fine with blood everywhere, glass in my head and a possible broken arm.

When the cop got there and I'm clutching Reios he actually tried to take him away from me to give to my mother because the cop said I NEEDED an ambulance. But i pretty much said "No sir, I'm fine don't take my doll" lol and left in my mothers car.

What made me laugh was when my fucking mother was like "do you want to drive home" like she was DEAD serious. I looked at her, blood running into my eyes, down my shirt on my hand that wasn't holding Reios, and i'm like "You dumb fucking bitch." lol

 

I cannot put her head back after replacing the elastic......the whole stringing thing is kind of tricky.....

 

ELL OH ELL. I don't have my first doll yet (decisions, decisions), but I too have punched myself in the face really hard and dazed myself, under different conditions. XD

 

While I was painting one of my dolls' heads. My sister's friend was over, and he was being nosy. I grabbed her glass eyes off the table and held them up to him while serenading "Cuz' I only have eyes for you". He left me alone sooooo quick. I lol'ed for like an hour. XD Stupid, but funny.

I once lost a pair of eyes only to realize later that they were in a sculpt I was working on. Stupid me.

 

On my first boy face-up, I made him look alot ALOT like a girl. (oops) He has ever since then been accused of A) being into boys B) been cross dressed at his expense by other doll loving friends!
he's also been accused of being the ugliest girl doll ever seen.
well, at least I love him the way he his, girl face-up and all!

 

That was very cruel of someone to say he's ugly D: ! He / she must be a terribly uneducated person with no sense of artistic difference!

Keep loving him! As long as he's beautiful to you, that's all that matters.

 

ha, i love this thread well i had NO idea i was getting my first doll. she was a gift from my sister and on new years day she hands me the box and im bawling so hard while im unwrapping her, (i was in shock ) once i got her out i was still crying so much she ended up losing a big chunk of her right eyebrow now that i look back at that i almost die laughing

 

I got most people beat :P I took Tak and Mephisto on rides at an amusement park :P Because we got in free after the chinese lantern festival. Tak insisted on the haunted houses and Mephisto on the pirate boat :P My mom was freaking out watching the whole thing :P The only thing I didn't dare try was the rollercoaster loop. I have issues staying in those my self let alone the dolls... But any non loopy rollercoasters are fair game >:P

 

I dyed a white skinned BBB Sprite black, and while I was waiting for her to dry, I somehow managed to lose one of her hands. It's months later now, and I still haven't found it. *sigh*

 

Using a pen to hold the elastic with the ink rod still inside the pen. Luckily I was able to get the little ink smudges out mostly and Leaving her in the thriller pose on the nightstand near an slightly open window *she had fallen by the time I got back. fail...*
