Stupidest thing you've ever done with your BJD?

I was attending my very first doll meet at the aquarium of the America's in New Orleans... I propped Zaydin up on the little ledge to take a picture with the penguins. He promptly fell over after one shot was taken and hit the ground... hard.. I freaked and picked him up and cradled him in my arms until we went to go get something to eat. When I was about to put him on the table.. suddenly his leg fell off.. o_o I was lucky that Angie was there to reattatch it for me. Poor Zaydin...

 

Putting Naya's head on her body D: I'd never done it before and didn't realize the reason I was having trouble was cause she was strung really tightly... so I got a few small nicks on her in the process (fortunately none are noticeable with the head and wig totally on) and now her head movement is very limited and it kinda pops into place... so I have to suck up the courage to restring her by myself =__=

 

I was trying to put my Odelias head back on once i did her face-up. I didnt want my pen to snap, so i used a pair of scissors to hold the s hook to pull it up. She's strung so tight that i was having a hard time...the scissors slipped on the metal of the S hook and into my finger....least i got a pirate bandaid for it XD

 

I actually did a photoshoot where my Elf Yder was holding a burning scroll, I mean it really was on fire in his hand! afterwards I looked at myself in the mirror and just said "bad doll mummy!"


Of course no elves were scorched or melted but still!

 

Yesterday, i was changing Matthew's wig.....he has the set of hands where one finger is kinda semi-pointing.. The pointy hand was completely outstretched in my direction.
I dropped the wig on the floor, and bent to pick it up....and Matthew Jabbed his index finger into my eyeball..... I squealed like a school girl, clasped my hand over my practically-exploded-eyeball, and then laughed, cuz when i looked at him, his hand was STILL outstretched, like he was saying "Awwww, C'mon, lemme touch YOUR eyeball for once!!! Ur always touching mine!!" LOL

:::: grumbles :::: My eye still hurts......LOL

 

I had boiling hot tea spilt on me and I was screaming and trying to hold him up, and fussing how people were holding him as they tried to help me. Ahhhh, I am lame. It was embarrasing afterwards. I just didn't want to drop him and hurt him!

 

I stood my Ryu (Vampire Dreaming Shiwoo) on concrete sidewalk. He fell on his nose and chipped the tip off. T - T I will never stand him on that stuff again! I had to mode his nose with a file, and he doesn't look bad. But I can tell he had an accident. And I feel very guilty. Don't stand them on concrete... they love to fall face forward.

 

Dumb things I've done with my doll? Oh dear god, here we go!


Let's see, He fell off the kitchen Table onto ceramic Tile, And was completely unscathed!

I had him all stretched out like he was naping on my bed and my dog decided to jump up and join him...and landed right on top of him. and she's an 83 pound german shepherd.... he was fine....though he protested he needed to hurl for about an hour.

He took a dive face first into the dirt at the pumpkin patch the other day while trying to stand him for pictures....he just wanted another bath so he could run around nakid!

and probably the two worst things that could have happened to logan? One I did, one my BF did while babysitting him.

I went to a friends house and wasn't planning to stay, but after watching two movies fell asleep, and they didn't wake me up till about 130 pm the next day.....and I'd left logan in the car the night before (cause there was no sun I figured it was safe) The temperature gage on the car read 120 degrees....and He DIDN"T MELT!!!! I rushed him into the house inspected all his fingers and toes and took his headcap off so he could cool down faster...he smelt like melted eye putty for a day or so but otherwise he was un-baked!

and the Second most terrible thing to happen to him (also involving a car) my BF was watching him while I was out of town and went out to her car to get something she opened the door, realised she needed both hands, set him on the roof of the car, and reached inside to grab what she needed....then shut the door......On To Logan's legs!!! The Door Bounced off his calves, he Fell over on the hood like 'OMG! You've killed me!' and she screamed. But again, no damage!


I've heard people say their DOD's break easily and Dispite some very valiant attempts on my and my friends part, he's still in one peice!

When I first got Ciel, I wasn't aware of yellowing due to UV rays. So, he sat right next to a huge window that gets a lot of sun for about two weeks.

A few months ago, Ciel had some some dirt on his cheek. I proceeded to wash it off with a magic sponge, and also used the sponge on the rest of his face. Luckily, it doesn't look like any of his face-up has come off.

 

Uhhh.. this isn't my doll, but it counts anyway I guess XD Today my friend Sarah and I went to psyence's house, to see her and her CP El, Scara, and SOOM Smoky Day Gena, Xiez. As it was Sarah's first time meeting dolls, we decided to strip them and show her how they worked (and also, Scara doll peen, lol XD).

However.. we were soon dressing them up in frilly hairties and ribbons, and we ended up putting Scara's pants on Xiez' head, and vice-versa XD;;;;;; It was SO ridiculous! At one point in the photoshoot, Xiez fell right over, and landed on her head - she was still on her feet, and her poor bared bottom was sticking right up in the air! XDDD We got a lot of photos... They'll definitely be posted!

We also put Fandango, a NS CP Dreaming El head, on Xiez' Creamy White body Now THAT was ridiculous looking!

Saaa, now I'm just waiting for them to come to my house to murder me in my sleep

Opening my Mimi in a Taco Bell. Got lots of werid looks and could have gotten taco ewww all over her.

Stupidest thing? Hmm... probably stuffing Roo under a ledge of lava rock so he wouldn't yellow in the hot Hawaii sun while I was a few feet away, otherwise occupied. 1) I left him alone on a beach and 2) I scratched his faceup on the lava. I'm lucky the damage wasn't worse XD

 

Aha, see most of my stupidness is intentional but I guess the thing that is probably strangest/stupidest is when I airbrushed Vlad's torso and head, I was staying at my grandmothers and decided he looked like a very skinny hulk. So I proceeded to stomp around the house dramatically shouting "HULK SMASH!"...and "HULK ANGRY!" I made Lynsey listen to me rant on msn for half an hour about my hulk wannabe dollfie.

Clearly I am easily entertained.

 

Stupidest thing I did with my doll... well let see! I remember, there got one time I was trying to snap some pictures of her wearing casually in my garden, then I put her standing on the place some where near flowers and some grass. End up, she fall backwards to the grass and her hair all mess up and stuck with grass and flowers... XD I can't stop myself laughing, but she was 100% unharm!

Oh the Hulk quote made my day. I don't have a doll yet. I should have my boy after christmas. I have played with a few of the dolls that my friends own. At the last anime convention I was at, I was messing with Chibi_Rumiko_Chan's Ambriel (BW Delf Shiwoo) and Kira (BW Elf Ani Girl).
Ambriel was sitting in my lap as I played with his arms and sat him on the table. One of the other girls who was infatuated by the two, was sitting in front of Kira. However when the girl looked at her, Kira's head was more to the side. Her head wasn't moving the smoothest when this girl was touching, but was fine with me. So she and I had a laugh as to how Kira was giving her the silent treament.

Ambriel got his revenge. Kira plays nice for me and poses perfectly. Ambriel, however, kept mooning me whenever I tried to stand him. Finally I gave up and just kept with holding him in my lap while making Kira stand.

Plus a cousin of Chibi_Rumiko_Chan was at the con and she brought her boy, Bast (BW Delf El). I always ended up holding Ambriel and Bast when their owners were busy. However every time I held them, at least one hand of theirs would end up on my breasts.

Ambriel was wearing a pair of Chiwoo hands so Chibi_Rumiko_Chan laughed as she said "He's got his brother's pervy hands!"

We figured out that Bast was just a pervert. That or they were trying to push my boobs away since they're so big.

With rye (my loose head) I had just finished modding and painting him...on my bed (not that smart of a place) and set him down on the bed so i could stetch. Well without really thinking i stretched out my legs and sent his head flying accross the room.......luckily nothing broke.

For Sal...well while carying him to a photo session i decided he was easily light enough to carry with one hand..that shifted to me carrying him only by a hand...then one of his feet which amused leech that he was light enough to do that and not stretch out his leg to see the elastic..not five seconds later did his leg stretch out and I quickly resumed carrying him like a baby.^^;;

 

I had Raziel and Trixie sitting on a wicker shelf that was hanging on my wall. It seemed to be on the wall fairly solidly, so I wasn't worried about them falling or anything, and especially after a couple of weeks, it was pretty much a non-issue.

So anyway, one day I was watching a movie with my room mate, and I hear a loud banging noise from my room. I run to my room to see the shelf on the floor, Raziel upside down and stuck between my bed and my bed-table, and Trixie no where in sight. I pick up Raziel and inspect him-- no damage-- but still no sign of Trixie. Finaly I find her at the foot of my bookshelf, her wig fallen off, and her head had fallen onto the base of it. I panic and pick her up, but surprisingly, she wasn't damaged either.

That experience proved to me that resin is way more durable than I thought it was. Still, I have them in a slightly more stable spot, now. They're still on the wicker shelf, but instead of hanging from the wall, it's just sitting on top of the bookshelf. Still probably not the most secure place, but it shouldn't fall unless there's some sort of earthquake or something, which Miramichi isn't prone to have.

Still, I'll probably be moving them again once I find a better spot for them...

 

I'd say the stupidest thing I ever did..was..

One day I was removing my Na-Nu-Ri's faceup with alchohol. I usually use brush cleaner but there was a stubborn spot, and it worked just as well if not better! So I reach over and grab the bottle that I thought was alchohol. Pour some on the cotton ball. And start rubbing acetone nailpolish remover all over my Delf boy's face. XD;; Fortunatley it didn't hurt him at all -- but lord did it scare me!
