Stupidest thing you've ever done with your BJD?

having my husband paint Ruthie's face without sufficiently coating it first. it's a good thing i like that faceup...

 

I second that statement. I need to send my boy's head off to be painted...

The worst thing I've done: I was changing his eyes (it's easier to do if I take his head off so I can hold the whole thing in my hands) and his head didn't just slip out of my hands but actually flew halfway across the bathroom, ricocheted off the toilet into the side of the tub and then bounced onto the floor.

I broke his elf ear (tip) off!

I then spent the next 20 minutes tearing the bathroom apart looking for the tip (I saw it fly off and knew the general direction it went). Took me forever and I couldn't find it until I decided to look inside the clothes hamper and found it nestled/buried in amongst the dirty laundry. The front side of the hamper has holes in it (I presume to let the laundry air/breathe so it doesn't get too smelly in there, but it might just be decorative) and the tip managed to fly from the toilet (where it broke off) across the room into the hamper through one of the holes.

Fortunately, it's a clean break and should re-attached with glue no problem. I still feel awful about it.

When I first got Isashi, he had no clothes and no faceup, and I stood him up for the first time with my roommate watching, and he proceeded to buckle forward and headbutt me IN the forehead. It left a really nasty bruise on my face.

Since then he has injured me in many ways and not once hurt himself. XD
It's just that kind of relationship.

Also I was recently washing Isashi's head, preparing to paint it.
I rinsed it and decided it would dry faster if I shook it back and forth violently. It went sailing across the bathroom (in my dorm, shared restrooms about 10 feet long xD;; ) and I think I stood there gaping for about five minutes before I picked it back up. No scratches. O_O

well...I can't really narrow down to one...so I have two.

1) While Parker was still mine...I was in the hall bathroom of my residence hall wiping his face with acetone and rinsing it in the large sink. I grabbed a towel to dry him with and he slipped out of my hands, clanked against the side of the sink, crashed to the floor, bounced off the floor into a wall, bounched off that wall into the floor and crashed to a stop into another wall. I about had a heartattack. Thank the looords above that parker's nose didnt' fall off! ;_; he was fine tho...thankfully

2)...macabee gets the most extent of my stupidity. Though, I've done nothing TERRIBLY stupid with him...excpet for trying to straighten his hair for the first time. For one..i used a straight iron. That speaks for it self. but no. I didn't stop there...I blow dried the kinks out....and tried with an actual Iron. again. speaks for its self...but...i wasn't done yet. I couldn't get the kinks out so I thought 'hey! i'll cut them out!' .... that's where I messed up big time. He looked like he got into a fight with a lawn mower, my poor baby....

it's a good thing I've learned to safley straighten his hair now

... but ...i haven't even had him a year...I can't IMAGINE what i'll manage do next...o_o

on halloween my sister and i were watching tv with our dollies well the movie end and i need to go potty so i got through phonix on the bed and heard a wierd noise i look at him (saying sorry) and so nothing wrong so i trun back but something wasnt right so i got closer and had a heartattack his eye fell out im panicking and running like a madman screaming "his eye came out his eye came out" my sister pick him up open his head and put his eye back in i was sooo happy she was there i never through him on the bed again then my sister stupidly scared me she put roseberry in bed and moved her head silghty and i didnt see her hand

 

I took vince with me to a hospital once and his wig came off ; i giggled and said quietly "aww he had cancer" but my mom heard and i got smacked Dx

 

My sister and I at the park with my boys August and Touri several months ago. We stopped in at the bathroom and as I was adjusting his clothes... his hand FELL OFF! The lovely little hook screw had come unscrewed and his little hand fell on the concrete floor. The hook was wedged into his forearm, so it wasn't going anywhere. Luckily no fingers had broken... so we still took pictures! And you can't even tell he's missing a hand. XD

When I first got Izzy I took her to the mall with me and her wig kept falling off every two minutes... I nearly lost it a million times! I didn't even notice it had come off until my roommate told me. ;.;

 

ive done tons of stupid things, the last one i can remember is letting my dolls play with pencils, it took forever to get it off >_<

 

I've managed to do lots and lots of stupid things already. Some things I've done are pretty harmless but some are just really idiotic to do to an expensive doll.

-Doing face-up without being absolutely 100% sure that the materials won't hurt the doll. Luckily they didn't and I know better now.
-Touching the Testor coating to see if it's dry already.
-I did a really ugly bodyblushing to Pihla. (She doesn't have it anymore.)
-Being really tired and accidentally coating Pihla's face with Testor while she had her eyes on! And I think I did this twice . Also, it was a bye-bye for that gloss on Pihla's lips and eyes. I don't remember why I was coating her face in the first place when it was already coated .
-I tried sueding Pihla with band-aid. Need I say more?
-Pihla's eyelashes didn't last long. I managed to get eye-putty in them and when I tried to clean it off, the lashes came off too. She still doesn't have eyelashes.
-I tried some...pretty creative methods to put on eyelashes on Altair.
-When I first took Altair's head off, it slipped from my fingers and landed in the trash can. And I thought it was hilarious. Well, at least it was better than the head landing on the hard floor...
-I was too cheap to buy a proper wig for Altair, so I bought a really cheap porceline doll from flea-market. Then I ripped off her glued-on wig and tried it on Altair. The wig was too big (it'd be okay if I modified it), made him look like a woman, and it was so long it annoyed me. Now I have a slightly creepy porceline doll without hair in my room...

I'm sure there's more that I've just blocked from my memory. My poor dolls .

 

I guess I should add some,
1) When I got Kamui's first wig I was so excited I ran out into the street where my friend were sitting in a car and I was saying "Ooo, look at his wig!!" and then it promptly felt to the road and they all laughed at him...

2) last week I was blushing some spare hands and dropped one down the cement steps. I swear they bounced for a minute, hitting each step atleast twice and I just stood there going
Luckily no fingers were lost

 

The stupidest thing I've ever done was taking sandpaper and an exacto-knife to a Delf chiwoo's cheek XD Sure, it turned out ok...

But really, I almost sliced my finger off o____o I wasn't being careful enough, and got a papercut-sized nick in my finger... it could have been worse.

 

Mmmmmm... stupid.
Well, I was walking down the street with Hayes in my bag, as per usual, the people were staring, as per usual... so I thought I'd give them something to stare at.
Shove him in head first with a flag sticky-taped to his shoe saying "SUP MUM?"
It was the funniest two hours I've had in a long time.

I did also absently try to stick a pin through his leg while I was adjusting the hem on his pyjamas. Kept wondering why it wouldn't go in any further.

I'm so rough with the poor baby *huggles*

 

Well, it wasn't me, but my dad (who, if some of you know, has an odd relationship with my boy? XD)

Well, I took my boy to the beach this year. And my dad didn't know I brought him until he went into my suitcase one day. He got curious while I was in the bathroom (so I couldn't stop him) AND HE RUBBED A PART OF MY GUY'S FACEUP OFF. He was like, "Hmm, I wonder..." and he proceeded to rub away his eyebrow! ;_____; So now, he has a large part pf an eyebrow missing, and I tell people he got into a fire related accident and it burned off. XD; Luckily, his wigs are both long enough that they cover it up. 8D I might have to send him away for a faceup soon....Darn the lack of funds...X'D

Well, up until I had her sueded recently,(Beautiful job by comicbookartistboi btw... ) it seemed like any time I was talking to someone about how well Alexis is able to stand by herself, and how stable she is...the inevitable would happen and she wold pick that EXACT moment to go all limp and fall over.

 

Alright, has anyone else had an "OMG WTF I cannot believe I just did that/let that happen/meh!" moment with their dolls?

I'll toss one in to start this up. My Melinda is wearing an extremely long wig and I wanted it braided back to make it a little more managable. So I held her and her wig in place while my mom braided it neatly for me. This was all well and good, but immediately afterward we hear this PTANG noise, and Mel's left foot and lower leg hit the table. It seemed while trying to get her new shoes on, I managed to loosen the s-hook and it finally decided to give, leaving me with a delegged dollfie.

I'll happily say that she's fine now. The s-hook didn't strip, just came free. We were able to screw it back in, and thanks to this board I knew how to easily get her laced back up.

Anyone else got a horror story to share?

 

I've had many a mishap, heheh.


In particular, one time while painting a doll, a loose thread on my sleeve caught on the paint pot and it flung onto the doll's face and chest D:, Luckily, it was just Liquitex and was pretty easily washable just with water. Once or twice I've accidentally drawn on my dolls with pen while making patterns, also easily removable, with a magic sponge ;}


I've also dropped my doll's ears out the window (she's a sharmin, with the interchangeable ears) while MSC'ing her once, haha.

And not to mention the allll too many times where the U-ring in her head slipped to the side and dropped her string down into her torso ;b

 

when I had my MNF chiwoo...I had stood him on the carpet barefoot once for pictures..and when i turned away he fell over. Out of a SEA of empty carpet..litterally not ONE thing on my floor exept the TV remote, thats what he hit and it dented his nose..Id only had him for a few days x_x
