Stupidest thing you've ever done with your BJD?

Aug 17, 2005

    1. ano has a nice scratch on his neck ( thats covered when his head is on thankgod ) from where when onetime i had both his heads off, i cant remember the exact sequence of events, but the S-hook slipped of place from where i had it wedged on his neck without that donut neck piece, and one of the ends goudged out a nice 1/4 scratch :'D

      i've also dropped his heads multiple times, he's also fallen off the ironing board ( about a 4ft drop )
      and when i was opening his eyes the xacto slipped and he has a nick in his brow ridge though

      ohoh
      there was one time when i tripped and nearly face planted at fanime, and ano went flying, i thought FORSURE i had broken somthing, but his eyes got knocked out of place, thats all :3

    2. [coughs] I... uhm... I knocked Harumatsu right off of the bedside table and into the laundry basket with a pillow once. :sweat

      I had him in the bedroom with me while I was folding the laundry and changing the sheets, and I *thought* he was out of the way... 'Found out otherwise when I grabbed the pillow to put the pillowcase back on it and socked the poor little guy a good one.

      Luckily the laundry basket was right under him, and he ended up in there instead of getting knocked against the wall or the side of the nightstand or something... He did lose his wig, though. And I think I squealed when I realized what I'd done to him. :...(

    3. I keep mine on a shelf about some plastic dressers that I use to store fabric and I use as a dressing station for them.. I have most of them on stands exept for one or two of the MSD's because they stand so well.
      Once I took one off {DIM Odelia} to change her clothing, another must have been standing on her long dress {Ren dress} and when i took the first down the second one standing on the dress wobbled, knocked into a third doll who happened to be an original BB Alice and those two came crashing down, hitting the dressers, I caught the BB by the hem of her outfit {wig flying off} just barely, but the third which was a DM Asha made it to the floor...luckily it didn't damage her face or long elf ears...and BB alice was none the worse for wear...though i almost trashed her stand...:sweat

      I am alot more careful when I am taking them down or standing them next to each other.

    4. XD Ooh, ooh, I've got one! XD

      While switching Xiez's head for Figgy's at the weekend, we had a minor mishap (I still blame her, not me XD). I had a chopstick between her head and her neck to stop the elastic running away, and because of the way SOOM dolls are strung, I had to remove the S-hook from the elastic before it would pass through the hole in her head.

      Anyway, it was all going fine, I had a coathanger in one hand and her torso in the other... until I gently released the elastic from the hanger to pass through her head.... and there was this TWANG noise o_O

      The chopstick flew off one way, her head went another, and there was a thud as her legs hit the deck XD;; I'm not entirely sure what happened, but somehow the pressure from the elastic must have flipped the chopstick out, leaving me with a half-unstrung doll. XD

      Getting her back together again was the hard part, as I couldn't stop laughing for the next hour or so. XD;;

    5. Hnn~ I think the dumbest thing I've ever done with my BJD was one day late at night (like around 1am-ish) I decided I wanted a bath 'cause I was dirty. o: I looked over at my dolly Cian who's a DM Larme and was like "Oh! He's dirty too!" >__>'; I put him in the water and scrubbed him down with the little rose soap Dollmore sent me, and then sat him on the edge of the tub while I put bubbles from the bubble bath on him and stuff. XD Later I was like "ToT!!! his elastic!" I remember someone told me elastic dries funny after being wet. But so far he seems to be doing fine, his legs aren't as steady as they used to be though, but I figure whenever there's a dollmeet close to me I'll go and talk some unsuspecting doll-person-friend into restringing him for me or something. XDD;

    6. Oh, here's another "it could have ended badly" story XD

      So, I took three BJDs home for Thanksgiving: a Delf Chiwoo, a MNF Chiwoo, and an MSD F-09. Now, I've traveled with a 60cm doll and a MSD before - but they basically had their own backpack, as I had other suitcases for my clothing.

      This time I had one backpack full of clothing, and carried the three dolls seperately wrapped in a Volks SD-sized bunny blanket.

      BAD IDEA XD First off, the two MSDs kept slipping around and one nearly fell out the bottom of the blanket bundle. Roo's new tapir ears could have gotten caught in Henry's chest hole >__> They might've scratched one another... nothing happened, but oh.. it could have :'D

      Second, I ended up sitting next to these two... erm... overweight people. In coach D: I had very little room to stash the dolls, and had to hold the three of them on my lap the whole time. One would have been fine. All three left me no room to get stuff out of my under-the-seat-in-front-of-me backpack...

      So. The lesson there is - I will never again transport more than one doll without having a seperate bag for them XD

    7. Oh, cripes, the chopsticks--when I was restringing Jack (and struggling with it) I apparently didn't poke the chopstick far enough into the loop of elastic. Well, the elastic snapped off the end and Jack whipped that wooden chopstick right at my head at about Mach 3. I barely ducked in time!

      And Beowulf headbutted me once when my attention lapsed for just a second. I was only trying to straighten his shirt and Beowulf just swayed forward and smacked me a good one. Ow.

      But the dumbest thing I've ever done was march into the living room with Jack's naked, headless, newly blushed and restrung body dangling from my finger by his S-hook. His elastic was tight enough that it was pulling him into a fetal position and I hadn't yet straightened him out, because obviously the most important thing to do right that moment was wave my naked headless fetal doll at my husband and yell "LOOK! NAKED HEADLESS DOLL!"

      ... the "... whatever" reaction that I got, I truly, truly deserved.

    8. I stuck her in a pepsi machine...I dont know why..and almost lost her in there too 0_0

    9. Double Post, oops!

    10. One time when I was doing Kayins faceup, I left his head balenced on a water bottle outside while I was spraying him. Out of nowhere a HUGE wasp showed up and I have a flying insect phobia as well as an allergy to stings. So instead of calmly walking away I waved my arms about and shouted things like "Get the f$£& away from me you f$£&ing b*&^?@#!!!" So I ended up knocking his head over. At first I didn't see the head, I just saw a huge white chip on the concrete. Luckly for me it was just a rock and my boy was fine.....

    11. At a meet, we took my boy and put him on the giant skylights on the roof of this one mall n_n he peered down and we took pics and attracked attention to him. lol there were quite a few "WTF?" stares that day.

    12. I have a new one:
      In Harajuku a few weeks ago, I took Yumeko to yoyogi park to have her picture taken with all the lolitas.
      For one of her poses, I balanced her on this railing...right above a drop of at least 50 feet..with the trains/rail/subway lines running through!

      shortly afterwards...we decided to leave. She was getting more attention than the goths or lolitas and we didnt need them to start a fight (which they were about to do..lol)

      **Edit**
      Also while we were in the park, she was standing around looking cute, when the wind blew. She fell over head first onto concrete and her wig bounced across the ground and her headcap popped off...I was soo scared to pick her up, I just sorta left her there for a moment. Once I had her together again, some nice old japanese guy gave me some candy to make me feel better (I was upset, but not crying..almost crying though) Yumeko now has a tiny chip/line on her forehead (which i'm going to sand out when I get around to it)

    13. First time I ever did Lucine's faceup shortly after spraying the last coat of testors she tipped over and smeared half her cheek off and had a dirt spot on her forehead :sweat

    14. Knocked my Volks Baron off the shelf twice in the same day. chipped his ear one time and luckily did no damage the second time.
      Now he has a doll stand even though he really can stand without it, just in defense against me!

    15. Hmm, onnce when I was sewing a vinal outfit for Clive. I had to put his skirt on and I realized that I had not finished the hem on the skirt. So, I laid Clive on his stomach to get the skirt off. I turned around for a second and then I looked at Clive and his knees locked and bent and his naked but was sticking in the air. I couldn't stop laughing for 10 minutes! XD! And I also thought, "What if my mom walked in right then!" LMAO!:doh

    16. Went to remove ivy lip colour only and ended up having to remove it all and do her face myself:( ah well she stills looks pretty just with my crappy face upXD

    17. I initially wrote one event, but I decided it was too personal to post so openly, so I'll tell about something more light-hearted.

      One day, I was taking photos of Glen and suddenly, her wig flies off. Yep, flies off. So, what do you think I do? I don't notice that it slid off, and continue taking photos, not even noticing as I'm looking at the camera objective-thing. *cough* She wasn't happy.

    18. LMFAO!!! *dies*

      I laughed for about ten minutes after reading this. I've still got the giggles! :lol:

    19. LOL these are such fun to read. Sadly I have nothing to contribute, I have yet to get my first doll. Im hoping to get him after New Years and after that Im sure Ill have stories to share. Im such a klutz im almost scared of wot might happen to him. O.O;;

    20. At one of my very first doll meets we were all eating at a Burger King and my Asha was sitting on a table next to mine. I moved her not thinking about the fact that I had just been eating, and set her on my table. Another owner leaned in and asked "what's on her shirt?". I felt like a total moron, but the Ketchup came out of her shirt all the way so everything was fine in the end, but I still feel like a careless doll owner.
