Sugarble Limiteds discussion part 1

They're fast. Got my shipping notice today. I want to do a Box Opening at my friends, and take photos for their Event #4. Not sure when that'll be able to squeeze into my now busy schedule. I wasn't expecting her for some time... Wow.

I got my shipping notice for my Adela today!! I was getting jealous of those who had already gotten their notices, but figured mine would take longer since I ordered her dress too. I have her wig ordered and it was shipped yesterday - hopefully I will get it before she arrives. Her eyes are also on order but I definitely won't have them in time. And I the poor girl won't have any shoes yet.

 

My Adela is here, but the eyes I bought for her are not because MakoEyes is apparently backlogged. Ah well, I have plenty of sewing to do in the meanwhile.

 

Same here. Since they were on sale I bought 5 pairs of eyes for my girls, Adela being one of them. I was really hoping they would ship out before her.

 

Hoping mine will ship soon too then, but being the last one to order pretty much, I imagine I'll be among the last to get her (at least, one of the last ones from the event period.)

She'll be able to wear her friend's clothes until I do something with her myself.

 

what color /kind of eyes did she come with?

 

Ah, she came without eyes. Sugarble's not yet to the point of including "default" eyes with their dolls.

On the upside, though, I did just get a shipping notice for my MakoEyes order! So Sui will have eyes soon!

 

They don't come with eyes? You've got to be kidding me. I can't help but be a little irritated. They can't even include some cheap pair of acrylic eyes? Not to mention I paid $210 for an outfit that doesn't even include shoes Well the best I've got are some 14mm SoulDoll eyes, I'm hoping they will even fit. The Mako Eyes I bought for her are 12mm though which I'm betting will look better.

 

wow, yeah. I'd be getting her to sew things for... but not even default acrylics? wow. they really should mention that, because soooo many other companies DO have "default random eyes" (My Honey Delf came with wonderful glass eyes) .. so would be additional confusion for a doll newb. Fortunately, I've got some others and a bit of an eyeball collection at this point. (egads, that sounds creeeepy.)

Yeah...I guess I'm kind of spoiled by now. All of my dolls have come with at least a pair of random eyes. Even if I don't like them at least it's something to start with. I remember being annoyed when I discovered Angell-Studio dolls didn't come with eyes; didn't even consider that Sugarble dolls wouldn't include them. LOL at your eyeball collection!

Although, when I got my Nabiya she came with eyes that were infuriatingly large. She wears a 14mm or 12mm, and she came with 16mm. They were so big they didn't even fit into her eye sockets!

From what I understand, Sugarsleek R wears 14mm in the promotional photos, and Sugarsleek S wears 8mm. Personally I think 12mm will look better for R. I took a photo of Adela from the website and erased her eyes so that I was able to test what eyes would look like on her. Mako Eyes has good clean promotional photos, so it made it easy. Here is what I decided on; I had to guess at the actual sizing but I'm hoping this will be close to what 12mm looks like. I still have the PSD file with some other Mako eyes if anyone is interested.

 

My Helena both wear 12mm, and they both barely have any visible whites. I can't imagine 14mm working for most eyes, unless you were going for a 'no whites' look like a demon or something.

 

In a wave of realization, I remembered that my WithDoll Cynthia wears 12mm eyes. So if all else fails, Adela can borrow them for her box opening. Still annoying but I'm glad that I'll have something for her to wear.

I missed the package today that her wig is in, but I set it to be redelivered on Monday, so I should be receiving my doll and her wig at the same time. She is going to look so beautiful

@DeadLegato: The Sugarble sculpts have always seemed "imp-like" to me with the pointed ears and whatnot. I wonder if they intentionally put larger eyes in them for this look?

 

any idea what colors/effects you are looking for?

Glib eyes are acrylic and carried by several different places (Denver Doll Emporium) but I think their own site is: http://www.mudoll.com.
Lots of people use Ebay, I did at first too. found some great eyes, but then if I want to get the same color I might not be able to track down the same seller again.
There's also safrindoll ( http://www.safrindoll.com/)
and Ersa flora ( http://www.ersaflora.com/) she's got some glowing eyes, and special effects eyes.
most of the doll companies also carry eyes, but I don't see any on the Sugarable site.(I'm still fighting off the Cold From Hell so I might just be overlooking it somehow?)
and then there's several people who make doll eyes, sometimes to order on ETSY. I'm currently waiting on some from https://www.etsy.com/shop/CandyKittensEmporium?ref=pr_shop_more

that should give you a start on eye shopping.

Ahh!No eyes on Sugarble dolls? O__o Too bad, I was anticipating those pretty blue eyes Serena has in the promo pics.
Do 14 mm eyes still fit Sugarble dolls' eyewells? 14 mm is the smallest size of eyes I've got at hand, and it would be sad to if she doesn't have any eyes until I get to order smaller ones.

 

I have to second Safrindoll and Ersa Flora. Almost all of my eyes are either Soom or EyeCo soft class bought through Safrindoll or customs bought through Ersa Flora.

trinlayk; in terms of style etc... I was actually really happy with the eyes in the promo pictures and was just going to swap them -Have placed an order for Rebecca and Adela. The plan was that Rebecca is going to be a little demon imp/ personification of night (thinking of calling her Nyx) so she would wear the red eyes Adela is pictured with, while Adela is going to be Rebeccas opposing twin- an angel/ personification of day (possibly called Hemera?) so the more 'natural' eyes Rebecca is pictured in would have been great....

Thank you for all the links- it's been great having a look although there's soooo much to consider; glass, acrylic, silicone.... oval, round.... It's a little bewildering lol!!

Deadlegato; Safrindoll definitely has some beautiful eyes, however postage to the UK is unreal- selected the two pairs I liked and estimated shipping turned out to be $24.55 I've seen several pairs in Candy Kittens Etsy shop which I totally *love* so sent her a convo about the sizes...

 

IF anyone is curious, I'm actually pretty sure the eyes in Adela in the promo pictures are the jelly eyes that JunkySpot carries, ((but I'm not sure how reasonable shipping to the UK is for them either.))
