Sugarble Limiteds discussion part 1

I would love to get this. I'm not crazy about snakes, but if they would make a mermaid tail fin to go on the end of the tail to swap out the rattle (or try it myself???) I can see this doll as a mermaid. I think most mermaid dolls have shorter tails than I'd like, but I keep wanting a beautiful, affordable mermaid doll. I'm undecided -- want so many dolls -- I'll go check out the layaway.

The tail would make a beautiful mermaid Replacing the rattle with a fin would be awesome. I could try to make one, although, given how my attempts at casting a unicorn type horn turned out, buying a mermaid fin maybe a better option lol

 

Ooh I have nearly been sucked in before but this snake may seal the deal.

It's nice to see that they have a good layaway program so I may be able to swing her.

By chance does anyone have a Juniper who wouldn't mind shareing a photo? She really has my interest but I'd love to see some owner photos of her first.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that the dolls don't pose very well, what's the general thoughts on this? I love to pose my dolls lots and nobody sits on the shelf long without being fiddled with.

 

I'm usually very demanding when it comes to posing, but for me the look of the body weighed up for the lack of posing. Especially when wiering fixed all the issues I had. The body stands like a rock, but is a bit iffy when it comes to sitting (has a tendency to lean back without backrest). The arms have a short range, but hold positions. Wiering it fixed the back-issues and extended the arms range enough for my tastes.

 

i'm so getting a mirror and turning that tail into a mermaid to match my larger epidos merman !!!!!

ETA: Anyone know who the pink-haired girl in the photos that show the blank snake tails is?

 

Deadlegato- I think the pink haired girl is Aiko/Mori/Darlene (Head 4-R) but I could be very wrong lol

And hah! DeadLegato, I'm doing the very same thing. Just a few more days 'til it's time for the next CC statement, then I'm pretty sure I'll take the plunge. I did ask on their message board about the layaway, to see if it would be any different with the tail. (I'd originally asked via the "Q&A" form, but never got a reply so I'm not sure it went through.)

Edit: Oh, wow! I only asked on the message board this morning, so I didn't expect a reply right away, but they've already replied! They said there's an option for up to 5 months for the layaway, and it's still only a $40 deposit required, even with the Medusa tail. Although I certainly hope to put a bit more than that down, it's good to know! I also asked about the gift head, and they confirmed it'll be in the same resin colour as the body ordered; I wanted to be sure, since I think I'd like to switch out and use the #6 head on my girl, and I want to get her in grey.

 

5am on the day my cc rolls over and my cat woke me so I ordered her. I found a doll less local friend who wants the gift head (what am I going to do with another head/getting more people addicted to bjd go!) So all is good. I got the white parts, both hair and tail. I am probably going to do her scales colores that would work better with a light background.

Now to wait for her to arrive. Nyeeeeeeerg! Definately gonna do a box opening and posing review when I get her. Hope she arrives late june or before so she can go to CON.

 

I just found out from a youtube video that Sugarble dolls have a faceplate system, and I was wondering if the free head would be just a faceplate or faceplate with head back.
I'm guessing it would be both but just wanted to confirm, but either way there's a good chance I will still put one on layaway.

 

Yeah, I'd expect it's the whole head from the sound of things. Since the S & R heads are different sizes, I don't expect it would do folks much good to get a faceplate alone. When I asked about the resin colour, to be sure it would be the same as ordered, I specified that it was so I could use the gift head as an alternative, and they didn't suggest any problems in their reply. Although, if you want to be sure, it wouldn't hurt to ask on their message board - they're very nice and replied quite quickly.

Just a couple more days 'til I'm on the next CC statement, then I think I will follow DeadLegato's example and place an order right away! :3

I think they mean for you to use the gift heads as alternatives to the She head, as they have pictures of the others on the body at the bottom of the page...I have been wanting Soom to do this for quite a while, but a boy naga from sugarable wouldn't be so bad either! I may have to find some cash soon to snatch one of these guys up >.>

 

The layaway is calling to me as well. I have posted a question to them and will see what I will do from there

 

I'm interested in the white tail. I kind of wish they had posted a picture of some kind of what the white tail with blushing would look like...but I love the tail.

Sculpt wise, if I'm understanding this correctly....are all R heads and S heads compatible?

Also. Does anyone know what head this is and if it can be requested as the free R head?

The head in the first picture is Mori/Aiko, and you can choose it. It's called "no.4-R (Aiko, Mori, Darlene)".

Is that the one you wanted?
