Sugarble Limiteds discussion part 1

Had bad news yesterday as my FIL died and then I got an email that my girls were shipped out. It was nice to get some good news and I can't wait to see them in person.

 

Our girls (my daughter's Mirror and my Adela) will be arriving early this week, possibly as soon as Monday or Tuesday...
there is much happy dancing in our house.

 

They arrived today, photos real soon! promise.
Just a quick question: hopefully my Adela is actually missing a couple pieces... but is the hip/top of the thigh joint kind of well "weird" as if there's a cover of the back of the joint missing when they're in a seated position? I love them both to bits, it's just that point of the jointing system that seems odd. (I have a photo of that too that will get posted when I'm not exhausted.)



they're just lovely lovely gals. I think Adela is turning out to be "Oona" and the Mirror is might be Nagina, or Nagini... but we've been calling her "Naga girl" all day. My daughter will pull a name out of somewhere eventually.

 

Thats how mine that are on the new sugarble body look too. (You are talking about how the hipleg - meeting point balls aren't actually full rounds, right?) I am assuming they assume it wont show if the doll is clothed... but I can't say I am fond of the design. I miss the old human bodies.

 

Yep, it's ok, clothing hides it, it doesn't seem to be a big effect on her posing. Though I don't know what their old bodies were like.
and Oona sits and poses fine, but when I look at her tush, it looks and feels like a part is missing. I feel much better knowing it's normal for these dolls.

They're beautiful! Is that their default faceup and blushing? They look really fabulous, especially that golden snake

 

yep, default face ups and the blushing... the gold on the white is just gorgeous. (I'm sure that the gold on the black is just as stunning)

I think we may have found a doll that my sister, the herpetologist, won't find "creepy".

 

Interesting to see the company blushing in owner pics.

 

I've been eye-balling the naga doll recently-ish released and I love the tail but I really don't like the open vampire mouth head sculpt at all. I searched all over the site but didn't see anything that lets you choose a different head or just buy the parts separately and cobble together what you want. Am I missing something or do you email Sugarble and ask them for what you want? Will they do that?

I know they say that there is either the S or the R line heads for this body of the naga doll but I am totally missing the place where you can make that choice. Ideally, I'd like the Adrian head with the intersex body (I want a boy naga as I don't collect girl dolls) but I don't even know if that would be possible. My wallet would be grateful if it wasn't possible *rolls eyes* but my brain is reluctant to let go of the idea of a nifty little albino snake boy *sigh*.

 

there was a special offer which ended end of May for a free additional head which could be selected from the S or R lines which is you see other Sugerble heads on the second second or on the naga ... I haven't received mine yet either (ordered late with various other items so wont be super quick) but from pictures of the naga head, I am not keen on it too - will be using the freebie head and couple floating Soom heads on the other body (ordered a black and a white tail) - really looking forward yey!

 

kyukyukyu: I was able to resist the free head event involved when the doll debuted as I was saving for something else at the time. I'm still a little on the fence on this doll as I'm technically saving for a doll that is still in the prototype stage and won't be ready for pre-order for... a while.

So the Soom tiny heads fit/look okay on this body? I'd totally be willing to hybrid one because the default head is not attractive to me at all.

 

Message them and ask if you can get another head separately and what it'll cost.
some of the newer/smaller companies don't have a separate listing for a head, but will sell them separately if you ask.

 

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'll need to join up and see what they say if I truly can't resist the temptation of getting one of these. That naga sculpting is just gorgeous.

I was so excited about the incoming snake girls, I paid off the rest of my layaway a month early. I really hope there's not too much of a wait, as I'm really excited to get her home. I'll be using the extra event head for my girl, as well.

 

For reference! Much of the Rement outfits, and many of the Barbie outfits fit these girls well. (slacks, jeans or things with long sleeves MIGHT need to be hemmed.)
The knit dress from the City Shopper Barbie looks AMAZING on Oona. I'll try to get a photo today or tomorrow.

 

never thought of asking whether could buy a head seperately (seen later responses to this query) did you ask and did you have any luck? hope so

reg Soom - I am hoping that the Soom tiny heads fit - asked around on DoA before I took the plunge - they are all WS so should be ok, it is the size which maybe an issue, have my fingers crossed

had my shipping notice, so customs aside, I will be finding out very shortly ~wriggles in excitment~ ordered a WS and a BS tail

thanks DeadLegato think the newer sugarble body is more delicate/thinner physique which was making people unsure ... dont think they will look too bobble headed, Glot was one of the larger (older Soom) heads but she is safe on a Glot body I still have the spare Taco head and have been deliberating putting the head on the black snake tail body and then blushing down the body in a similar greeny blue in a pattern ... try not to make too many ideas as seeing in RL sways me more than photos

 

I haven't emailed yet as I need to register with them first to ask a question and I'm still trying to resist the notion of getting one of these because they're so damn cool. My one doll rule is that nobody comes home who isn't a character first and I don't have a character for this doll. Yet. I'm trying hard to resist.

 

Hmm... well, my LTF/snake girl hybrid works decently enough, even though I'll admit the neck is a bit on the thin side. I think Glot/Glati's head should be about the same in proportions as a LTF. I only have Dolomi and Lami and I think they're slightly different, but sometime after the fourth of July weekend I could line them all up for a photo.
