Sugarble Limiteds discussion part 1

April: I'm biased because I have one, the Adrian head and default face-up is really beautiful. The quality of the default face-up is outstanding.

He's wearing 14mm eyes in case anybody is curious.

 

April both my boys have the same head and personally their make up seems very similar. The Grey is Patrick and the white is Rudy. I don't know why the option for that head is not available now. For some reason my computer won't let me open the Sugarble site and says error 403 forbidden! You used to be able to pick any or the sugarsllek R heads with any make up from a drop down menu. When I work out how to get into the site I will let you know what number head they have.

 

Rudy and Patrick are sculpt 2R. I don't have any problem with the site (http://sugarbledoll.com/index.php) but I've had intermittent problems with a lot of sites lately.

 

Kavarr -- Thanks for the info on your boys' heads. I thought they looked like Patrick, but I'm kind of bad at spotting head sculpts!

On the site, Patrick in Grey was available. I ordered and then got an email saying that they are sorry but there's a problem with "head no.2 with gray, since we are unable to produce it now.
The heads available in the color of gray are no.3,5,7,and 8." All heads are available in Normal and White... It's just the grey that is currently limited to only some sculpts.

They didn't say if they would be BACK at some point... so I guess I'm stuck between Patrick in white (with purple tail) or Adrian in grey (with purple tail). I kind of wish I could get TWO... I like both those heads AND the green tail (I really like your boys, Kavarr, and that's the reason... been looking at those Nagas for AGES).

I'm still trying to decide. I was thinking of Adrian or Patrick... so Adrian would be cool... But was also thinking of grey or white skin... so ... hmmm! Not sure yet!

... sort of leaning towards a grey Adrian...

 

I'm planning on ordering a pair of nagas as soon as my income tax hits the bank. They will be my first fantasy dolls and I'm really excited to own them. I'm ordering Hellena in pale grey with the dark violet tail and Chloe in normal skin with the white tail. I'm going to paint them myself and I want to make them lei's and jewelry to wear instead of clothing.

April - I've been looking at them forever too!! I kept telling myself I didn't need one and that I don't even like snakes. Then it was, I need one...but what the hell would I do with a Naga!? My fiance caught me looking at them once. He noticed I kept going back to check them out and told me to just buy one. I couldn't pick and he said I could get two. He likes them as well and one of these girls will mostly be his.

 

Finally got into the site again! Yes both of mine have 2R head April. I have no idea why they can't produce it in grey atm. I'm glad you like my little guys so much. You may just have to get two like me! Hehe should I apologize for being an enabler?
Stokiaci they are so cute i'm sure you will love them. I like jewelry on them too. I was mucking around the other day with some bead bracelets to see what would look good and put a pile on my poor little dudes. They looked a bit dismayed as well as weighed down



I only just realized that this thread says limiteds but it seems a lot of us discuss and put pics of our Naga on here and they are not limited oops! Someone let me know if this is ok or not?

 

Kavarr - Your boys look amazing! I love how you have them color coordinated. I'm not sure about the thread either. In the past I believe all of Sugable's dolls were limited. Perhaps removing the Limited from the thread title would be best because they aren't limited anymore.

 

I love the combination of the grey skin with the purple tail. Could be just my monitor, but it looks like there's a faint purple tone to the grey which makes it look like a perfect match up. I love the jewel toned tails and if I could justify it, I'd love to order another naga because they're so pretty.

 

That makes sense Stokiaci. I didn't know they were all limited once. I only found them when they put out the colored tails and they got my attention (and my money!). As for their coordinating at first I just thought I would like the eyes to match the tails. But now I like Jasper having all things green and Lynx with the purple. Maybe we can change the title to Sugarble doll discussion. I have never changed a discussion threads title and not sure if anyone can do it or if it has to be approved or anything. Does anyone knows if we can just do it or if we have to ask a mod?
Iron_Dog the grey does go really well with the purple. It may have a hint of purple tone to it but Lynx has so much purple going on it may just look that way. You may have to get another one in the future. It is really cute the way they wrap their tails around eachother and it helps them stand. Btw I don't think I can justify any of my doll spending but if it make us happy then that's good enough for me! Oh yeah forgot to mention that I can be guilty of being an enabler

House rule is that I only bring home dolls that are already characters. I've only broken that rule twice and I've been in the hobby for coming onto 7 years now. Fine, I have 27 dolls now (how the hell did that even happen?) and I'm seriously planning for 2 more (OT for this thread). Nassano is the only naga character I have and his story with Dolf (Lume Blaze in zombie skin) is still in the WIP phase *sigh*. I can only admire the pretty, not add more nagas to my crew.

 

I'd just create a Naga character if I had a characters only rule!!!!

So, I don't have any rules any more... The buying is only limited by the amount of money I have!

I ADORE your cute pair of Nagas, Kavarr. (Love the added jewelry!) I had already been looking at the Patrick head... And I love purple... and as Iron_Dog says, the grey just looks so nice with the purple... I originally wasn't sure, but the grey just got to me!

SO... I wrote to Sugarble and said I want the grey skin. I'm switching to the No3 Aiden head with Aiden makup.

I'm doing the max. layaway, so it'll be a while to go... at least 3 months. I'll do some light painting on the tail myself (although it really doesn't need any). Might do some black pattern... but very faint...

... and of course it's a slippery slope, because it'd be so lovely to have a second one (with Patrick head!)... in white or normal skin! But that will be WAY down the road, if ever...

I usually do the longest layways in hopes to slow down the doll-buying. Not that it works... I've got a bazillion dolls by now.

Many of my dolls are fantasy dolls, so the naga thing was always a big temptation for me. I mostly have big dolls, but have to say that I appreciate the smaller dolls nowadays (I'm REALLY running out of room!). And these guys are just so frickin' cute!!!

I'll be looking forward to getting my little naga-boy. --There really needs to be more little nagas in the world. And more Sugarble dolls of any kind, I think. They really all are pretty awesome.

and I noticed the title of the thread, but I usually don't pay attention to such things if there's no OTHER thread that fits! And it's not as if they need a separate Sugarble thread... I don't think there's all that much traffic even in this thread as it is.

I don't need to be making up any more characters than I currently have, honest. Winning a doll in a raffle a few years ago ended up with my adding 5 more dolls to my current in-house crew as well as the previously mention other 2 I am trying to save for.

When you stretch out these nagas, they're actually MSD size if measured from head to tail tip. And if you bring a naga anywhere, people are very interested in seeing them and holding them. Sugarble did an outstanding job in the engineering of these guys, too.

 

Congrats on ordering him april! The grey/purple was my first choice too. Like you I have mainly big (65cm+) guys and these are my only two tinies. They do appear bigger because of the length of those tails like Iron_Dog said and I have to agree they are an instant hit at doll meets as everyone wants to play with their tails. Just wait till he arrives april. At first I couldn't stop fidgeting with them and would sit playing with them while watching tv (still do sometimes). They are the cutest little dudes. They also come in their own little carry case and Sugarble put little extras in with them. Btw your albino boy looks great Iron_Dog. I know the trying not to get any non characters as I have tried that but then something irresistible pops up an voila new character

 

I picked up one of the Soom outfits at Dollism in Buffalo this year past and it fits him beautifully. Unfortunately, I'm not sure which one it is as I bought it off someone during the room sales.


I'm pretty good at resisting the impulse to purchase dolls but not always successful. I've impulse purchased only 4 dolls (Darius, RS Pixiu; Nassano, Sugarble Adian Naga; Shae-Lin, DearMine Oskar and Misu, Obitsu Limited Kayura), which I think is pretty darn good considering how many dolls I have. And when I have impulse purchased, there was usually a really good deal on the doll or the doll itself was way down on the price point for dolls. I think the only doll that might present an impulse problem for me was if I was to find one of the DZ water dragon babies in the MP for a price that I absolutely couldn't pass up. Those little guys are too freaking adorable and I actually know where it would fit in my assorted worlds.

 

I'm putting my naga plans on hold for a bit. >.> I sort of kind of bought a different doll that wasn't in the plans because she was perfect. Fastest impulse buy ever. Hopefully, I won't have to put them off for too long. I may end up bringing them home one at a time to ease the blow. I'm happy to hear these little guys are very good posers. They look like they are so fun to play with. It doesn't help that they are so darn adorable. I was wondering about their stringing. Are they strung from head to tail or is it something different? I was just wondering in case I wanted to swap their tails around after receiving them.

Kavarr - I stopped trying to "shell" characters. Saves me a lot of grief over finding the perfect molds and such. These days I just buy the dolls I want and make up characters along the way.

 

The tail is strung separately from the body (or at least my boy is and came that way from Sugarble). I got rather detailed instructions from them on how to re-string the tail (which I still need to do as he's wickedly tight), extra elastic and an elastic puller from them that I had no idea they were sending along with a extra fist hand, too.

 

That outfit is great Iron_Dog. It looks perfect for him. I really must have a look at what cloths will fit as it would be good to have them clothed for a change. Those little water dragons are cute. Maybe one will come up for sale for you.
Sugarble are such a nice company to deal with. They sent the extra stringing and hands to me as well as doing the free tail brushing on Lynx. I have still been to lazy to try loosening mine as well. They are still very tight and those tails just keep curling up.
I know how it is when a perfect one comes along Stokiaci and you have to reorganize your doll plans a bit. You will get your little naga eventually.

 

My experience with Sugarble was very positive and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again. The quality of their dolls is amazing and I'm really happy with my purchase.

... There were a lot of great clothes-buying opportunities at Dollism US, what with all the room sales. I was trying not to buy stuff (as I have piles that have never even been on dolls already!), and was mostly sitting in my room selling a few things... But I still picked stuff up! It would have been the perfect time for a new doll owner to get stuff for their doll at a great price.

I'm glad to have finally ordered one of these guys. I'd been thinking about it for ages. Now I just have to get through the next three months of layaway!
