1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sugarble Limiteds discussion part 1

Mar 1, 2010

    1. The Sugarble site is kind of fail! For the actual product pages, click on the written name of the doll you want to see, not the portrait. The prices of the extras are detailed in text below the images on the product pages.

    2. Oh, thanks much! It's not that bad on the actual site, pricing wise. Now I feel silly for not managing to figure it out on my own.

I want a Hellena and a Mori with the wolf parts. I know I want Mori in gray, but I'm terribly torn between whether Hellena should be gray or white skin. Gray skin, she can cosplay from Homestuck. White skin, she can be zebra-girl. So torn!! I mean, I'd hate to pick a skin color for ONE cosplay, and I certainly wouldn't want her to be a character doll, but... can't you see her as Aradia?? (If anyone knows what I'm talking about, ha ha.)

I can't afford them until September anyway, with anticipated birthday money, so I've got time to mull over it. But my 'future' Hellena has named herself Lotus, so I'm thinking this will happen.

    3. The leekeworld wig I have in that size fits my unoa, which means it will be WAY too big for my Rudy. The wig I'm the most satesfied with is from Rapunzel wigs (http://rapunzel-wigs.webs.com/). I can post a picture of it next week, if you would like to see (on vacation atm :P)

    4. *gasp* She's gorgeous!!! :D I love that wig on her.

    5. For some reason, Leeke doesn't list their size 5/6 and size 3 wigs easily searchable, but they're there on the site if you dig enough to find them. But I find it easier to go straight to DDE for anything of theirs smaller than a 6 to avoid having to poke around forever to find them.

    6. hey, i hope no one has asked yet but how is their posing like? are they good?

    7. I have a glamour girl body and she is single jointed, so the range of motion isnt huge. However, she keeps the poses I put her in very nicely! I only wish she had a bit more mobility at the wrist. With magnet hands and feet they just tend to pop off when I try to do even the simplist of poses.

    8. That makes me wonder how close in color their resin is to Resinsoul, since their 27cm are about in the same range, if the colors worked it might be possible to swap out at least the hands for Resinsoul hands?? Hmmm.... When/if I get one, I have plenty of friends with Resinsouls. I'm gonna check that out as a possibility.

I'm waiting to hear back about our grant funding (gov agency jobs, woooo) and if we're good for another year, I'm picking up a gray Hellena on a glamour body with all her option parts for sure. I can't resist getting another mature bodied friend for my Leekeworld Ent.

    9. I have a question....Aren't there suppose to be two magnets in the Sugarble head? One at the top and one at the bottom? Today I was changing my girl's clothes and noticed that there seemed to be a magnet missing from the bottom of her head.

    10. Also here's her super cute new outfit from Etsy. Wig, eyes, shoes, faceup, socks & undies in the works.

    11. GrimVarda - that is so weird! My Rudy doesn't even have that notch for magnets (obviously, he doesn't have a magnet there either). He's a year old soon. How old is yours? Maybe it's a new thing? Does it have a corresponding notch in the faceplate?

Also, that outfit is adorable! I'm really loving the blouse! (Not loving how this just cements the fact that I need a girl!)

    12. ic~! so can ur girl touch her face? i'm considering getting a juniper. her face is too irresistible!

    13. feather Yes there is a corresponding magnet in the faceplate, adding to the weirdness o_O. I just looked back at my box opening pictures and it seems there was never a magnet there. I did get her second hand here on DoA though, she arrived in January 2011, I believe she was made late 2010. Either way I'm thinking I 'll find a magnet somewhere and glue it on her, it would help keep her faceplate on more securely. But the thing is that there really isn't a recess to put the magnet in, so I'm afraid it might mess with the alignment of the faceplate and the head.

Hmm...what to do? I'm thinking that since, when I do send her out for faceup, I also plan on getting her fingers separated. So maybe I can get the person doing that mod to also make a notch for the missing magnet. Thoughts?

    14. I opened up my girl and the inside of her chin area had an indent but I dont think it was for a magnet. I personally think if it's not broke, dont fix it :) but if you find her faceplate pops off too easily it might be a good solution! :)

    15. Agreeing with Anneke here. It's a bit odd as the faceplate on my boy has never popped off unless I wanted it to (unlike both my DIM doll and my Unoa... I tend to fall in love with the faceplate dolls XD).

    16. feather & Anneke I do believe you are both right. If it ain't broke don't fix it. It's not like I have her flailing about all the time.

Also I washed and restrung her yesterday. As I was doing so, I found that she had magnets in her back for wings (from her fullset) which only adds to her awesomeness XD. I tightened her arms up which has helped a lot with posing, but as for her legs they are more snappy than they were before so I think I'm going to have to play with the tension until I get it right. I don't think she needs any sueding, maybe kips though? Anyone have experience with these?

    17. I don't have any experience with kips, but I have tried hot glue sueding and must say I love it. Problem with kips is that they can be a bit thick for so small dolls (I've been told, haven't tried myself).

The best part of those magnets is that they match the LTF magnets, so wings from Faiyland can be used interchangeably with Sugarble wings!

    18. When you hot glue suede, does the glue pick up little specks of fibers or lint? That would bother me, I'm weird like that ^.^'.

    19. I have a Juniper/Christine head that is the same way. The little shiny spot seems to be a bit magnetic.
