Thank you so much! At the moment I'm mainly concerned about how to combat the yellowing, She was originally a dark brown resin color but large sections of her body have turned green. All of my MSDs live in a vague fantasy forest setting, so I'm sure I could incorporate the green into her character somehow, but I think I want to see if I can counteract it first. Other than that I'll probably have to wait and have her in my hands before I decide more specifics on how I'd like to customize her.
Hopefully the restoration goes well, but it'd definitely be an interesting challenge to work the green in to a design. Man this is just reminding me I still need to work on customizing my pair. Poor things have been faceless since I got them.
Sorry for the necro, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened to Summerbird and their dolls? Their website hasn't updated since 2022, and it seems they've just dropped off the face of the internet.
I talked to her in early '23, and she mentioned she had some chronic health stuff going on, so dolls were not a priority for her right now. I hope she has been on the mend. It’s maybe a little selfish considering that but I do hope she feels well and motivated to do another preorder for Viola in the future - I really wanted a Mystique but I was a broke college student at the time and I figured there would always be future preorders, I certainly didn’t anticipate that being the only one, and never seeing a single owner photo of a Mystique. I was really hoping to live vicariously through Mystique owners for awhile there but I’ve never seen any.
Ahhh, I see. Thank you for letting me know! I have chronic health issues as well, so I definitely feel for her. I hope she feels better soon as well, and her dolls are really gorgeous! Would love to have a Viola someday.
I also showed up here hoping for answers as to why it seems they had stopped posting on all their internet platforms around 2020. I hope they get the rest they need and find a comfortable life, whatever direction they plan on taking!
I hope they're all right too. Makes me wonder what the rates are for her work these days as I'm considering selling the Viola body I have. I feel like I'm being exploitative though, you know what I mean?!
