1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Super Dollfie Owners List Open!

Oct 1, 2005

    1. It's definately an interesting thought of the owner page being completely unaffected towards the membership itself. I guess the fact that there is any speculation just doesn't help. The fact that this isn't clear cut is the problem right there. Hopefully someone will get an answer shortly from Volks and the details will at least be clear as to how the setup is working.

    2. The main thing that makes me mad is...it's really not any of Volks's business where we buy our dolls from >_< I love Volks, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit picky of them to request that we specify where our dolls were purchased. Whether second-hand or directly from them, it's still a Volks doll. I don't know why second-hand dolls have this sort of stigma...are they just upset that people would want to sell their dolls in the first place??? Other than Doll and Hobby, how do they think ANY of us get their LEs?? Very few non-Japanese, English-speaking people have been priveledged enough to attend a Dolpa. In my humble opinion, simply owning a Volks doll PERIOD should make you eligible to be on the list. This really makes me not want to join at all (my doll wouldn't be listed because I got him second-hand.)

I really appreciate everything Volks is doing for the North American market, but this really is like a slap in the face :(

    3. aw I registered Caelan like on the first day it was open, in the morning, and he isn't there. If Volks is being all snotty then I'm gonna boycott them XD It's not like everyone has the cash to import stuff from japan directly, and volks prices are anything but reasonable. I know the dolls are top quality, but come on, they are just dolls. If they're being selective, than hell with them! This is not the german army during WW2, people have choices. If they dont register Caelan and everyone else's ebay, DoA, or whatever dolls, I'll never buy another volks :x

But I am gonna wait and see lol If they register "secondhand" or "non-official purchases" dolls than I retract my complaints ahead of time

    4. If it's true, and i'm praying it's not...It's really sad!

I would have to agree, if it is truly the case that non "official" dolls will not be listed, it seems rather ridiculous, and frankly I would not understand. Its like saying that an adopted child is not as good... in my opinion my Hisui is completely a volks doll... at one point they painter her, assembled her, packaged her and someone paid them for her. This mindset would disregard hundreds of dolls that they created. So are they not a volks if you are their second owner! If location of purchase disturbs them, delete it from the secondary market entries or have the standard "Secondary Market", but to remove the entry completely does not truly represent how many American Volks owners there are. I have been saving for five months now for a SD FCS doll that I had intended to buy at an official source (should that LA shop ever come to fruition) because for once I would have that opportunity. Now i'm not too sure that opportunity will come my way.

ahh well, I guess there are other ways to spend money. Still I hope that if I am patient they will include everyone's dolls or have a change of heart. :(

      Take care,

      Anna M.

    5. The only thing I'd be concerned about is whether or not they'll allow memberships to people whose dolls didn't come directly from Volks or DH. With the exception of Jun T, all of my Volks dolls came from Y!J or some kind of go between.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

    6. I registered my Liz and Yuki(sent a pic of them together) the day they opened for registration and all my dolls are from yahoo Japan auctions and it's not even listed. i agree, to just wait and see.

    7. I sent in my Sophie, which I bought from Doll and Hobby, and she's still not on the list. So they must be behind! But... I had no idea they'd be including the comments! *_* I listed all my dolls, as I thought it was just a message to Volks. So I hope it doesn't look show-offy on the list!

    8. I'll be... amused if they show my comment... because I was annoyed since they sent me an email telling me registration was closed and that I needed to send my email in between September 28th and October 31st... even though I sent them an email on September 29th... amusing... although maybe mine will just never show up at all since I bought them off DoA.

    9. ..i hope they include auction orphans....as i have promoted the Volks products for many years with non-shop dolls....and I mean they all came out of the same places right?...they are including clothing that is not volks in the photos so I'm not understanding why they would limit membership from secondary market doll fans...lets see what they can do

    10. Say, if there's anyone with a good understanding of Japanese, could she go there and get the jist of "Comments" from Japanese owners?

I'm still trying to figure out what they want when they ask for a "Comment."

    11. My Arashi came from an "official" source, but they wouldn't post my listing since I couldn't give them a photo. I don't have a digital camera (perhaps because I'm spending several hundred dolls a shot on their dolls )

Anyway my question is, if they didn't post your listing, are you still in the club? I mostly joined for the info and preorder abilities as Arashi wants a girlfriend (his mom wants a daughter-in-law she can sew for too). Did anyone get a confirmation email in return? I'm sort of hoping my membership card turns up in the mail in the next few months since I had to give them name, rank and serial number to join.

    12. I guess the only way to find out is the card in the mail thing...none of us knew our dolls were accepted until we saw it on the list.

    13. I didn't know Canadians can join woo! But then I don't think I can register lol. My only Full Volks is my Nono. Cause my F08 is on a Soo body lol. My Nono head I got off of someone off of DoA here..... the body I got through a trade........so yeah prob not gonna happen

    14. This is actually what I expect will turn out to be the case...I've not received anything for either girl, and Bethany is official Volks and on the list, so I'm thinking when everything is sent out and finalized, we'll find that everyone gets in the club, but only dolls from official sources are promoted on their website. Actually having membership in the club is the important thing to me, not whether Mika's picture is on the webpage or not.

Honestly, it makes sense to me...If I were Volks, I don't know if I would want to "advertise" that someone could get a doll from another source but the official ones. Ultimately, this club is a promotion for themselves and the new LA store, and I imagine the goal is to encourage purchases from the official store by showing what beautiful dolls have been bought from official sources already. If I want you to buy a doll from *my* store, I don't show you one of my dolls someone got from a different store, no matter what the situation is. I only want you to know about my sources.

I'm all for the "wait and see" theory, or if someone *really* is dying to know, perhaps they can email Volks directly and ask. But getting upset based on an assumption seems like "borrowing trouble", to quote my grandmother. We don't know if there's even a reason to be upset yet. Once the cards/membership info start arriving, there will be plenty of time to react whichever way.

    15. They don't understand correctly where we come from if we don't tell them.

We'll wait a while and see, but if nothing happens, we'll send a KIND email and see what we can do. No one jump into anything, like clochette said it will ruin everthing. (T_T)

Because many aren't going to bother listing their dolls, and I think the club should be based on Volks love, not how we got them, because it's a pretty good indication of how much we love Volks that we go through trouble to get our Dears.

I'd be more then happy to send it, if no one else wanted to. I don't want Volks to feel bad, or their loyal fanbase to feel bad either. :(

    16. both my mom and i want to send in profiles for this, but we have a question -

we each have a second hand volks as well as one we had a service go and buy for us... my mom got a show from crescent where he actually went to the store and bought it and i have a nasiya which janet went to a store and bought for us...

does any one know of the stores that they may have gone to to get these that way we can list those store names as where our dolls came from...

even if you don't know, any help would be appriciated! we're both excited about the possibility of joining this club....

    17. You could always ask the purchasing services you used where they bought them.

When it all comes down to it, it can't hurt to send in the registration with whatever info you have. Even if they don't accept it, you'd be no worse off than if you don't send it in. Better to try and have it not work than not try at all, I say. All it costs you is the time to fill out the email.

    18. Masamichi lists his address in Fukuoka. I'm not familiar with Japan enough to know what large city that is close to but someone else might.

    19. thanks -

i think i can find a store near there... that takes care of crescent, unfortunately, neither my mom nor i can remember how to get in contact with janet (we bought from her so long ago that we didn't keep the information....)

now to pull out a map of japan and play detective....

    20. I got my F-08 (now F-05) through Masamichi who went to a volks store and bought it as well. However her SD10 body I got off of ebay. I haven't registered yet and I'm not sure what to put, I'd hate to be dishonest about it but I might just put down "Volks" and see what happens.

I really hope they list all the dolls and even more important that they allow memberships to people whose dolls didn't come from DH or Volks. I’m more worried about getting the membership than having my doll on the list.
They say it doesn’t matter how you got them but it kind of makes you wonder sense so far it seems like they are only allowing dolls bought through DH and Volks on the list.
This club is supposed to be about Volks Super Dollfies, it shouldn't matter where you got them from as long as you have one.
