Supernatural Doll Stories

Jul 7, 2011

1. I have a BJD who seems to absolutely hate to dress up in costume. I feel like it comes across in photos too. He's kind of a goofy guy sometimes, but I think he doesn't like it if I (and others) don't take him seriously when he means to be serious.

2. I have a story to share.

Just last week (1st day of the lunar new year), my mom gave red packet only to Enir (one of my dolls). Last year she gave to both Enir and Yuri (another). That night I remembered clearly that night before I went to sleep, I placed them sitting straight and both looking at the cupboard door with Enir holding his red packet. The next morning, I found them in a different position. Both of their heads turn and facing each other with Enir somehow showing off his red packet and Yuri looking really upset.

When I saw that, I thought it was a prank at first but later I realized it wasn't....

3. @Ceri-Ethereal I wonder if it's a hereditary thing coz only grandma's side has this problem: Grandma, her son, one of her daughters, and two of her grandchildren (including me).
It's worse for me as I get older so I don't really go out at night anymore.
The worst example...my sis and I were once waiting at the roadside for mum to pick us up. It was really late and there was a slight shower. So I see this guy with an umbrella walk by, then another guy on a bicycle passes by. I was looking at my sister who had her back to them. So when the guy on the bike passed behind her and never came out the other side...I was like..."WTF?" I even peered behind her to make sure he didn't disappear behind a car or a tree but it was in the middle of a main road so there was nothing for him to disappear to. So I ask her if she saw the guy that just passed by and she said "You mean the one with the umbrella?" and I'm like "No, the guy on the bike." And she's like "There never was a guy on a bike."
Now there's no way I could hallucinate something as big as a guy on a bike. I actually checked my watch at that precise moment and it was 12 midnight exactly..

Grandma said once when she woke up in the middle of the night, the picture of our founding father (who was an old man) had turned into a young woman. Who was just....smiling and looking down at her.
She's the one who told me not to keep dolls in my room or hang up posters of people. There was a time when I decked my whole wall with posters of all my favourite singers but I didn't stay in my room after that, and even slept on the couch. When my family asked me why, I told them I didn't feel like it. I was actually too embarrassed to tell them that I felt extremely uncomfortable in the room. It felt "crowded" and it was really "noisy" at night. Well, when grandma walked into my room, she gave me a good scolding and told me to take all the posters off. I was really quick to comply.

My cousin once visited a graveyard site for shipwrecked victims and he saw a picture of a young girl. He made the stupid comment to his friend that he thought the girl was pretty and it was "such a pity she died so young". Well, that night, he dreamt the girl came into his room, sat on his chair and stared at him. Then she walked over and hovered over him for the rest of the night. He said he could feel her weight the whole time and was really sore the next morning.

I know none of these stories have anything to do with dolls, but if they did, they would be out of the house and in the marketplace in no time.

4. @Havra Thanks for the recommendation! Things have certainly calmed down in the last few months, all I've dealt with recently is something that pauses Netflix for the fun of it. When I went to that club for help, it took nearly two whole semesters for me to see the sponsor, and the first time was during an investigation. The guy's legit, he's helped police with unexplainable cases, and has worked directly with the Vahtacen before. In fact, when he heard about the fact things had gotten violent, his usual carefree nature turned beyond serious as he thought it could be possible demonic activity and he wanted to bring the Vahtacen in immediately.

As I explained things to him, it became very clear that it was, for the most part, my doing. Seeing as it worsened along with my mental state, he told me I'd have to reign in my issues (namely PTSD, anxiety, and depression), find a religion and/or designate an object to protect me, and change the way I treated spirits. As I've healed, I've found more passions (including BJDs), starting roleplaying after a 9 year hiatus, and discovered what I want to do. My mental health is leaps and bounds better now. I refused to find a religion (very very bad experiences with religious folk in the past), but I did designate a protective object (he said demons don't usually bother with people who think they're protected as it's a waste of their time.) It was actually a keychain of the character my boy is based off of, and nothing bad ever happened while it was on me. I also had to stop being so carefree with my views, as I'd said spirits could follow me home and stay for a little while as long as they didn't do anything harmful.

The worst of the stuff usually happens to my mother, she's still experiencing some awful stuff, but for the most part, refuses to talk about it with me. My dealer said my boy will arrive this Monday, and now I'm in a cleaning frenzy to give him a proper welcome. I'll try to designate him as a protective object too, seeing as he's the same 'character' as what I used to protect me before. Maybe he can help my mom too, most things approach her while she's in bed and talk to her, and having him close to her room might keep some of them out (our rooms are only a few feet away from one another).

5. I've been told several times by so called professional psychics that I am a natural medium. FYI, none of them knew me at all. They just blurted it out. Of those people only two I give any real credence to in terms of their profession. I've seen spirits several times in my life. In each instance save two, when it was my own deceased family members, what I saw had little to do with me and was verified as real by people who I did not know well. In one case I described someone's dead grandmother to a T and totally freaked him out. I had no previous knowledge of this woman, didn't know about her, had never seen a photograph, nothing, but I saw her just outside a room that was hers for decades and when I described her to her grandson he was floored the description was so distinctly her that there could be no doubt that it was her I saw. I don't mess around when it comes to things paranormal. I just don't think it's wise in my case. I have a feeling that doing so just might lead to some things happening to me or for me given my supposed talent. I'll watch a show or two or read a book about it, but that's about it. I just sometimes have this feeling that maybe there are doors that shouldn't be opened you know?

As well as dolls I've collected angels for years. It started with one little angel statue that I liked because it reminded me of Monica from Touched By An Angel, a favorite TV show. My family, my friends they all just started giving me angels after that for whatever reason. (Ditto anything frog and/or cat related.) 15 years or so later I have a whole fleet of them on a bookcase and some scattered around the house. My house as a general rule feels very peaceful and calm spiritually speaking to me I think because of all the angels. This is going to sound weird but that's exactly how my dolls affect me too. I feel very protected being around them, not threatened at all. But my one brother he's the exact opposite.

He won't set foot in my house unless I put every doll I own away. He is totally creeped out by them. His own children who also collect MH dolls and Barbie have to put all their dolls in a cabinet in their room when he is home for a while. (Which he isn't a lot, because of work.) He's just totally freaked out seeing them. If he walks into a room with a Barbie in it either it gets put away or he will leave. He doesn't come to my house often because I am just not into putting my dolls away for his sake. First off there are a lot of them and hey, they live here, laugh, and second his phobia has no root. So far as I know even he admits that he's never had a bad experience with a doll. He just hates them anyway. One of my ex roommates, she had a bit of a phobia too, but she at least made the effort to appreciate my dolls and my collecting them for my sake, as a pal. But my bro, he just one of those people who tends to think the whole world revolves around him and I won't let him get away with that in my house. I guess watching him squirm a bit make me smile too. He's not the best sibling, we don't really get along well, and what can I say I am a bit evil that way, grin.

Ever since I started collecting the BJD's though he's really been sarcastic about it. He's one of the few people in my family who will give me a hard time about the expense of collecting dolls. (Though he himself thinks nothing of dropping $25 on coffee and lunch at work every day...) For some reason the BJD's they particularly bother him and since I've gotten those he's very seldom dropped by at all. He brings my nieces over and he will stay for like 6 seconds maybe. I think it's the heads, being able to change out eyes and that? The one time he saw empty eye sockets it was like he went a little green and he could not get out of there fast enough. His kids, wife, and I, we think it's hilarious.

Last month one of my nieces asked me if she could take my RS Ju home with her for a while since I'm not really all that attached to her lately. Since she's in bad shape anyway and my niece is a very responsible girl who loves dolls I put her back on her RS body and said "Sure, why not?" My Narae head needs another body that matches better anyway and she can stay in the box for a while. Two hours into the house and she turns back up with her Mom and tells me that her Dad, on the phone no less, ordered her to and I quote "Get that creepy F- THING out of his house!" I called my bro at work and told him he really needs a therapist. My niece she comes over here to play with Alba now... :P

I don't get it myself. Why some people are so freaked out by dolls. To me dolls are angelic things. They're almost a protective fetish with me. But I've seen several people now react very strangely around my dolls and my angels too. It's almost the same response actually. Either people love them and are very happy to be around them or they totally loathe them and will leave rather than stay around them. I honestly think it's some kind of cultural leftover thing from history, a primal fear of dolls that some people still have based on ancestral memory or something. I mean dolls, and poppets in particular they've often been seen as evil, as magical tools, as things that people curse you with. So maybe that thought just lurks in some people's subconscious? I could not be more comforted by them, but I've seen people almost jump out of their own skins around mine, and me being me, I can tell you that they are NOT haunted.

6. @ yuan_mdx I have heard many a time psychic abilities of all kinds are, for the most part, hereditary. It usually travels through women, but guys can get abilities too, just not as often. My mom is bothered by things on a regular basis, and so am I. (She's also the youngest of 7, and I heard something about being the 7th child puts you at risk?) But for me, I don't feel like I was born with any talents.

I was very much a 'nothing else exists' kind of kid growing up. We had a room in our attic that was sealed shut when we moved in (the home was well over 100 years old), and when my uncle got a divorce, he broke the seal and turned it into a bedroom. After he left, I got the room, and I'd see things in there, knew I was always being watched. Nothing had happened to me before we broke that seal. (Talk about your typical 'white family moves in, ruins everything' kind of story.)

That story about the guy on the bike is so freaky! Especially since it happened right at midnight. Ever do any research on it? Like if a guy riding his bike was hit by a car on that road? I haven't actually seen ghosts since we moved. Do you think that founding father was trans, or anything like that? Did things get better after you took the posters out? Or worse? And that's what your cousin deserved, I think. It's not right to disrespect the dead like that (even if it wasn't the meanest comment.) Your grandmother seems very wise, she sounds like she'd be great to talk to! I think you should get her to tell you all she knows or thinks about this kind of stuff.

@magkelly It's okay to have abilities like that! If you don't want to deal with the power, it's best to ignore it. When you read about the supernatural, you open yourself up, especially if you're reading about possible abilities you have or demonic things. Most people find ways of shutting them off. Don't actively try to use it, or you might open up your (some call it a 'third eye', but it's really just the means of using your power at will). And if you ever do try to, you need something to protect you. Whether it be in your religion and its holy objects (crosses, star of David, etc.) or a random object you designate to protect you, you need it. You're very vulnerable to bad spirits and demons when you try to make use of abilities.

7. @magkelly It's fascinating how you can "see" stuff so clearly. I think I would freak out. I have a friend who can see stuff and she gets bothered by them all the time. One time, she went back to her hometown and while she was walking up a slope, she saw her junior school teacher walking down, talking to a friend. They didn't speak with each other but later that night, she told her junior school friend. Her friend started freaking out but wouldn't tell her why. Later, she found out that her teacher had actually passed away 2 months before she saw her.

@Ceri-Ethereal
That's interesting about protective objects. I heard from a practicing Vajrayana Buddhist that you use a physical object to set your barrier. This guy was trying to teach me how to set a barrier so I don't get visitors in my dreams. He said that my mind was completely open because it wonders all the time. I was a dark person (I wear black and I have black hair) so he deliberately chose a bright orangey color for me in a form of some prayer beads. He told me when I focus on these beads, I need to blank out my mind and visualize this color. I must "think of this color like a wall and engulf myself in it and feel its protection and warmth." He also said I needed to practice meditation so I can keep my concentration. Unfortunately...I've never done what he told me to do coz I lack concentration. My mind is still wondering all the time. That's how I get inspiration.

I'm not sure about grandma. She had a brother but a LOT of dead siblings due to unsanitary birthing practices. She could have been the 7th kid easy. Let me ask mum.

I think I heard it somewhere that if you stay in a place that "has problems" the place acts like a portal and you will keep on getting problems. Coz until I moved into that townhouse where all those problems started cropping up, I never had stuff like this happen at all. I mean, nothing ever invaded my dreams or took a physical shape until I moved into that house. And I remember my mum being extremely unhappy when she saw the house we moved into. She said it was a "crooked" house so stuff will happen to the people who live in it as well as its owners. Strangely enough, we've had a different owner every year since we moved in coz after they bought the house, they started getting financial woes and I started getting my problems.

I've also heard an explanation about pictures with human faces, or human figures. Wondering ghosts don't have a body so they try to find something to stay in (it gives them something to anchor themselves, like when you're underwater you tend to float away and you have to make an effort to stay in a spot by thrashing around? But if you hold onto something, you can stay in that spot with less effort).

Now onto the interesting story:
I had a poster of my favourite artist and stuck him in front of my bed so I could see him whenever I opened my eyes everyday. It was all good until one day when I was driving home, I felt a sudden pain in my back. Like someone had pricked me in the neck. (if you ever watched the movie Shutter, where the guy's driving home and he feels that twinge? that's EXACTLY what happened to me, someone jumped in while I was driving home and took temporary residence in my favourite poster) That night, I dreamt and felt a huge male shadow leap out from that poster and hover over me. I had to literally crawl out of bed the next day coz I didn't have the energy to stand. It happened again the next night and I think my sister had to drag me out of bed the following morning because I couldn't even move. Needless to say, I tore that poster off and it's safely tucked away. I haven't hung any human pictures near my bed after that.

This one isn't a doll but it's extremely close.
I have this pillow in the shape of Emily the Strange.
http://images2.laweekly.com/imager/...best-items-to/u/original/4199295/empillow.jpg
Normally I have her facing the wall, but once, I accidentally turned her over. That whole night, I kept waking up because I kept feeling a baleful presence behind me. I mean, that was the only word I could use to describe that feeling. Baleful. Like, full of malice. I finally couldn't stand it any longer so I turn around. And there she was, Emily pillow, staring at me straight in the eye. For some reason....her eyes were glowing kind of greenish in the dark despite my room being pitch black. I grabbed her and flung her across the room...then I fainted back to sleep coz I was so tired. Next day, I put her in a box and sealed it up. Never opened it again. (That's probably what's going to happen to my dolls if they treat me that way). I have had my favourite dolls out and sitting around when I first got them because I didn't have anywhere to keep them. I did feel "presence" but it wasn't the unfriendly kind. However, I prefer it if I didn't feel anything at all so I've tucked them all in boxes and they stay in another room.

It's not that I don't want to keep them out, but I actually want to enjoy this hobby longer.

8. yuan_mdx The way my sponsor put it, there's only two things you need to make a protective object work. You need to truly believe it will protect you, and to keep it on your person (which is why I turned that keychain into a necklace.) It can be literally anything, it can be a hair clip if you want. No limits, you just need to believe in it.

I'm excited to learn more about your grandma.~

I very much believe in the portal thing. Where a bad enough event happens, energy or spirits can get trapped, and demons can be attracted to it. In fact, even though the town where I live is young, tons of teenagers have run around using Ouija boards and inviting bad stuff in, so a bunch of places are haunted now. Demonic or stronger spirits can trap weaker ones and people, and need negative energy to survive. So they make you a bit miserable in one way or another, and the cycle of depression feeds them. It's very difficult, if not impossible, to close a portal, so it's key to get help or avoid places with them at all costs. People can be portals too, by opening up wherever they stay long enough and inviting things in.

Sometimes being stuck to an object is the easiest way for ghosts to interact with their environment. Once they learn and know how to use it, they can do things they couldn't before. It doesn't happen very often though, as most believe an object must have been well loved or very old for this to happen, and more often than not, energy just clings to objects, not spirits. This is just what I've been taught, however.

I haven't seen Shutter, but I'll be sure to check it out. That's really scary though, I hope that's the worst that happened. Chances are, it was very malicious and was trying to go through something it knew you cared about to get to you. Same with that Emily the Strange pillow. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same spirit.

All I can recommend about your pillow and poster is to try and cleanse them. Do whatever appeals to your religion or personal beliefs. You can burn sage (icky smell), put salt rings around them (kind of a pain to clean as well), use prayer or other kinds of 'wishes' to cleanse the pillow, and sometimes you can even bring objects in to churches to be blessed. Or just have a protective object on you while you're around the stuff. Whatever else people mention might work too. Keep on loving your dolls, so that they can overcome anything evil that wants to use their bodies.

My first doll arrived last night, the one I'd had the dream about. I'll be posting pictures tonight or Thursday. When I was working on putting on his clothes, wig, etc. and trying to make his jewelry, he'd either look at me with such loving eyes or turn his head away entirely (that tsundere personality starting to surface). He does, however, have a very attractive presence. Even though I had so much to do last night, it was near impossible for me to put him down. I felt like a mother hen. And a friend who came over thought so too. She hates dolls, but she couldn't stop picking him up, and is now as ready to make things for him as I am. Good thing too, since our local con is next week and I'll need her help. We're probably going to make flower crowns for him today, and I want to make him pants and boxers if I can. We also need to tweak his jewlery and make him his coffin. I don't know if we were just blown away because he's new and different, but there's something about him that is so gentle and loveable. (And he's a pefect poser, too! No kicking or anything.)

9. I think this is off-topic, so feel free to repremand me later. I have a few American Girl dolls, and I don't know if I'm crazy, but I swear they have emotions. I used to play with them a lot, and now I don't. Their eyes seem much more dull when I ignore them. When I change their outfit or brush their hair, their eyes seem to light up again. :| Does this happen to anyone else? (with BJDs?)

10. I discovered today that my girl Maria is a bit feisty! She has always been good to pose- stands up on the first try, bends well, doesn't kick or anything crazy... Well, today I had some friends over to meet her for the first time, and everything went wrong!! Her wig tangled, she wouldn't stand up no matter how hard I tried, her arms were super snappy and wouldn't hold a pose! It was bizarre! And, of course, as soon as everyone left she was back to normal.

11. I have half my wardrobe dedicated to my dolls, and it's only opened when I'm messing around with them. I was taking a couple of pictures of my crew just a couple of week ago, and had left the wardrobe door open in my rush to head out for dinner. There were two of them still seated in there when I left while the others are either on the ground or on my bed.

When I got back, I had to just stop and look around my room because something in the air just felt... off. Nothing has changed since I left so it could have just been me, but for some reason, it just felt weird. I ended up just ignoring it when I didn't notice anything amiss, until I peered at one of the dolls I had left sitting in the wardrobe and he had this strange, eerie look on his face. I can't really describe it, but it was a little unsettling.

Now, I don't really believe in anything supernatural, but I do think that we all breathe a little bit of life (or souls) into the dolls if you love and care for them. Keeping that in mind, I assumed he was just upset that I haven't been interacting with him as much as I had the others, and just gave him a nice and long cuddle. Everything seemed to have gone back to normal after.

12. I have a funny story for you. There is a folk belief in Russia: you should wait for the visit of the uninvited guest, if o a sharp object felt on the floor. Intruder can be drived if you tap a subject on the table and say "Stay at home!"

Who loves unexpected visitors?

Then one day my sister dropped the scissors on the floor and said the spell. I was just waiting for the courier at the time: he went from Moscow to the suburbs and disappeared with my package...The employees of the postal service was Searching for a package for a whole year.

Claude from Iplehouse was the expected guest.

13. Reviving this.

My friends who follow my FB page have seen and return to the post. A little background about me for you:

- I am Christian.
- I have had supernatural experiences and do see things sometimes others do not. I also get strong feelings about objects/places.

One of the BJDs I've owned (and is now owned by someone else, but she knows if she ever doesn't want him, I'll take him back) I named Georgie after a character of mine. He came made up already and had an upside down pentagram over his eye/face.

My first act as his new owner (as I do with all my dolls) was to wash him and pray over him.

Even in my FB post, I said it was likely the stringing. I had set him on my bookshelf and took a few photos after having done a whole series of them.

Georgie was done with taking photos. His head snapped downward suddenly so that he was looking at me.

The part I could not explain was that my camera/phone froze at that same moment. I couldn't get the image of him off my phone. I couldn't get the camera to turn off. It was stuck on that screen. I screen shot it because my phone maybe could do that, I thought.

It turns out it could.

I remember saying jokingly- "Okay, Georgie... No more photos," and then was able to reboot my phone where as before it wouldn't. I'll see if I can attach the images from Flickr.

The new owner decided that the symbol on him upside down had to go/she removed it.

This is the only doll I have ever owned that was known to roll onto his side in his box next to the others.

14. I love this thread and all the stories and i am seriously wondering if spirits can attach themselves to resin dolls, I know they can to porcelain, and possibly some stuffed dolls. ??:?

15. It wasn't with a BJD, but I once had a creepy dream with a doll I once had before. When I was much younger, I received a doll that was approximately a yard tall or taller. It was a plastic doll with blonde hair and was made to be look like a little girl. Since it was a big doll, we kept it in the corner of my bedroom by the closet. When I first received it I didn't mind it and wasn't crept out by it at all. But, as time passed it's presence started to make me feel uncomfortable and I would feel scared to go into my room or be in my room by myself.

Anyways, in my dream I was faced with the daily dilemma I went through in real life of standing at the door way and deciding whether to go in or not. Well, I slowly walked in and looked towards the doll. But, rather than standing how it usually was, it was sitting on the ground facing the corner and whispering to itself and playing with some smaller toys. Obviously, I was frightened but silently grabbed a baseball bat nearby and planned to hit it in hopes of destroying it. I rose my bat and as soon as I was about to swing it, the doll's head did a quick turn and directly faced me. Before I even got time to swing the bat or do something, it lunged at me --making fall on back in the process-- and started to viciously pull at my hair.

That dream scared me so much, I begged my parents to get rid of it. All my mom did was hide it in the closet and it took years until my mom finally got rid of it.

16. I know there was a thread a long time ago, I read on it maybe 2 or three years ago, about dolls and ghost stories. I hadn't thought about it until recently when some strange things started happening around my newest doll, Gabriel (a April Story New Spring). There had been a reply on that thread about little packs of herbs they put in each dolls head to ward off spirits, just in case, but I can't remember the details of what it said. I was wondering if anyone remembered the thread or just had some advice/ their own strange stories involving their dolls to share?

With Gabriel there were 3 instances of strange things happening.

1.)The first was when he was sitting mostly naked (he only had pants, wig and eyes. The pants were actually too small) sitting on the farthest side of my bookshelf next to the closet. The closet doesn't have a door, it instead has a grey cloth curtain. Each day when we go to work I close the bedroom door to keep out sunlight and because I have cats.

When I come home one day I find the closet curtain draped over all my dolls so that Gabriel, on the end, is covered. There is no breeze, it's too high up and too well placed for the cats to have done it plus they're locked out of the room. It's stretched pretty far over and after some fiddling with it I discover that you would have to pull the curtain up to person height before dropping it on them for it to sit the way I found it. This happens 3 times before Gabriel gets a shirt and a hat, and it stops. I have pictures of this, but I'll have to dig them out later. For this one I can't think of any explanation that fits.

2.)The next happened yesterday, months after the first. I came back from the doll meet had to move my dolls to the kitchen table. Eric had ordered pizza and the cats were clamoring onto the couch while we ate, where I had set my dolls down before to rest. Gabe was sitting out facing the stove and my two girls are in the box, he'd rode home with me in the passenger seat.

So we eat and talk and watch things. After we're done eating and the kitties have settled down I hear a strange noise in the kitchen. Eric (my husband) had music on and I told him to pause it. I must have sounded worried because he fumbles with the controls, skipping songs and moving clumsily before he's able to pause it. As he's doing that I hear it 2 or 3 more times, like glass shuffling.

He finally pauses it and I hear it once more, and this time Eric does to. He says "you heard that to?" As I move to investigate.

I turn on the light in the kitchen and check for kitties. Tidus (my boy cat) is on the couch and I don't see Issy (my girl cat). For a moment I thought it was her, but then I hear it again while I'm in the room, very faintly, behind me. No kitty to be seen (later we find her on the bed upstairs.)

I start looking for the source, shaking things myself and seeing what noise it makes, and eventually realize that it was the sound of my salt and pepper shakers being moved very gently, like they're being rearranged. I don't know if they were in a different position than before, I don't remember how I had put them, but they were the only hollow glass objects next to each other that could have made that noise. I moved the pizza box near them to see if it slipping would have done it, but it didn't effect them at all.

I think Gabriel may have been in the same position. I didn't remember putting his head facing the wall, but I fidget with his hair and position when he's sitting with me so I'm not sure. This one could have been a mouse? But I don't see them bothering empty salt and pepper shakers, and especially not doing it again after I'd gone in the kitchen, turned on the light and made noise.

3.) The last thing happened today. Eric had been cleaning and I'd left Gabe bald on the table while I soak and recurl his new wig (I got it at the meet). I left it soaking to go upstairs and paint. Then Eric comes up panicking saying he saw a hand on Gabriel's shoulder, a human sized hand. He was down there alone, and when he saw it he thought he'd accidentally dropped some food on Gabe's shoulder while he was cleaning out the fridge and turned to get a good look. He swears he saw it move away from him and disappear, though unlike the other two I wasn't there and I can't rule out any other explanations.

So any advice, explanations or stories of your own? I'm not sure what to do here

17. Wow, that's a very interesting story! I haven't considered this scenario since owning my own dolls, but I vaguely remember hearing that some people do believe that a doll can be considered an empty vessel for spirits to occupy. I personally don't have any stories or information regarding these occurrences, but I'd love to know what others have to say as well!

18. Woo! A subject I know a lot about~

In superstition and wicca/pagan practices dolls are very likely to become vessels for spirits (both good and bad) and its widely agreed that burning herbs and incense such as sage and (if you are religious) contacting a priest to bless both the doll and the house (although that may be a bit much?).

Also a lot of these events may also be caused by bad energy such as stress or anxiety so try to lessen those feelings as much as you can.

Now for rational explanations that don't include the paranormal.

1. Perhaps your boyfriend put the curtain over your doll to cover it or because he was searching for something in the room. Another explanation is if you had relatives oe friends over they may have done it if they felt unnerved or wanted to play a practical joke on you.

2. Bit harder to explain...if the shakers were on the table perhaps the table was settling and caused the rearranging effect (reaching a bit) or the cat did play around with the shakers and ran out stealthily as you entered the kitchen.

3. This one is even more harder to explain, perhaps your boyfriend saw something that looked like a hand and got freaked out then his mind sorta "changed" his memory of it to put a maybe into a definite "I saw a hand on the dolls shoulder." But this sounds like a definite apparition to me at least.

Sorry for the long post and I hope this helps! :)

19. I believe I was one of the people in the other thread. I put sage in Kane's head following a friend's advice because weird stuff happened with him in the room, like the tv flipping channels and turning off by itself, and hearing what sounded like crashes and footsteps in the doll room when no one was in it. I no longer own that doll, but I still hear plenty of noise from that room for no reason! I'd had that OC shelled in three different dolls (two resin, one cloth) and regardless of the shell, weird stuff happened when he was around, so I really think it was the character or (more likely) even my own mind rather than the actual doll.
