1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

This is Lyra and she arrived today from Arizona!

    4. Catrina/Dollyholic - any updates yet on the late March order of Supias? Rumor has it the turnaround is 5 weeks - are they incipient in the next two weeks, or will it be more, do you think?

      Thanks.

Dollymom to HRH Belladonna Aphrodite the Limhwa Princess, and (hopefully soon) Aliyah Rukhmini Devi the Supia Roda maharani.

    5. Hey guys, my Rosy only wears 7/8 wigs!

    6. I only konw that she can use MSD size wig:)

    7. Am not Catrina of course but the order period only closed March 31st - its only April 22 - I wouldnt be asking whats happening till at least mid-May.

The dolls that were ordered in Feb (i think the ordering period closed Feb 14) didnt ship to owners till the last week of March.

    8. Thanks. I do tend to lose track of time, but I figured since it's 3 of the 5 weeks down, perhaps there'd be some sort of news....

      ...oh well.

I've never had so much trouble just buying something before I started dealing with these doll companies. Not 'trouble' exactly - Dollyholic/Catrina has seen to that, she's been as helpful &c. as anybody could possibly be - but just ... they certainly do have a whole different attitude over there towards doing business, customer service, keeping people posted, etc. Kind of like they've never made it into the 20th century...while we're in the 21st. Very odd not to get fairly "immediate" gratification (i.e. as soon as you pay for it, the vendor ships it, so there's only a few days' delay), but have to wait, and wait, and wait, with no news or assurance WHEN something will be coming, no deadlines, etc.

Is this typical of all the asian bjds, and if it is, do the asian customers (i.e. our members/colleagues/dollbuddies in Asia) accept this as a matter of course, or does it bug them, too? I know this cropped up in a thread I started when I was an extreme noobie, & vaguely remember someone saying it was a fact of life over there; then someone else disputed that & asserted that as an Asian, she was just as put off by it as any American. So...which is it? IS this common practice & attitudes in Asia, by both the vendors & the customers, or is it an oddity, and Asian consumers are just as frustrated as I am?

    9. I think the difference is that most things you buy are in stock, or will soon be in stock, and hence it will be shipped soon.

But in ordering a BJD, the first ting that happens is that the doll is made. Which is a lengthy process of a month to six weeks if nothing go wrong. And then it is shipped! :sweat

    10. I'm asian and it does bug me alot. I can't speak for all asians but from what I've observed, customer service does need a bit of a push for something to happen quickly. An off-topic example, my friend sent off her mobile phone for repairs and the repair shop did not even inform her of the status of her phone for a week, they even sent it off to Singapore without telling her

I do hope you get updates on how your doll is doing soon :)

    11. Like Quiet Queen said - this is justy way this hobby is.
Some doll companies MIGHT have extra dolls in stock but if they do and you ask for a face up then you have to wait in line for the face up artist to work on it before shipping.

But MOST companies - and especially all the ones Dollfair deal with DO NOT have dolls IN STOCK - the creation process starts AFTER payment is made.
You need to think of this hobby more as buying luxury hand craft items - the artists dont start work until you have paid money and then you have to wait for the creation process to be completed before you get your doll.

I have never with any bjd I have bought where the companies give regular updates in the creation process as the work was done - i was advised when payment was received and then I was advised of shipment.

    12. every supia doll is so beatiful, thanks supia

    13. Do anybody knows when last order's dolls will be shippied?
      Can't wait any more*_*:aheartbea

    14. Yeah - what cat777 said! It's been 5+ weeks now. I'm itching for an update - ANY update.

And thanks, Endowitch: a lot of my grousing etc. comes from sheer ignorance, plus being used to the US way of doing things all my life plus not having had a whole lot of exchange with anywhere outside the US. I appreciate the info.

    15. It's always been 6+ weeks for Supia ordering periods, so a little bit longer to wait. :) I'm ordering a new girl in the next batch, so I'm waiting too.

    16. Patience is the key in this kind of hobby for the dolls to be made, painted by the artist 1 at a time if you want a faceup and then it is shipped to Catrina, she and her workers check over the dolls and match the orders up and make sure nothing is broken before they ship it to you. Being impatient may cause a price increase on the Supia dolls like what has happened to the Narin/Narae dolls. Supia is run by 1 owner and I am not sure if the owner has people helping them make the dolls either, so it does take longer for them to be made. It may take up to 8 weeks sometimes to make them.

    17. well i didnt feel like going through 30+ pages for a strange but silly question.

I beleive its roda that has the open mouth...does she have a tooth part like yan?

Do you know if they will ever release a doll similar to Yan? all smiley? Maybe its possiable to gently mod her mouth?

    18. Yeah Roda has a tooth part like Yan does and can be removed, will love to see a really smile face Supia in the future:)

    19. thanks for the answers to all! ohhh... i'm waiting- waiting *_*

    20. I really don't mind waiting for the dolls, although there's that little part of me that wants everything right now, LOL. Ordering something like the Supia dolls, I feel more like I am working more directly with an artist than a large manufacturer, and to me that is important. Then the doll becomes more a work of art than a product. It seems obvious to me that Kim cares about the dolls she makes. I use my waiting time to plan the doll's look and clothes, and daydream a lot about them. Yeah, I wish she were here already, but I'm fine waiting as long as it takes.:) Eventually, she'll get here!
