Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. The price is the last piece of the puzzle that I need before deciding if I'm going to push for Roda as my first BJD. Although, with that fabulously detailed body I might be willing to go a little crazy.

      There is no minus set available.
      Facepainting is optional and $60 extra, done by artist Yu Jin of Supia (her creator).

      I am trying to update the web site now. We are rushing because of the holidays. The artists are concerned they will be forced to make the dolls during Christmas week if we don't hurry. Korea also has a big holiday around Christmas.

    7. That's pinky white french resin. Unless you really need a white white doll (as in, all the dolls in your collection are snow white) I'd advise pinky white. It's a little easier to take pics of because there is some color to it. You can see the body sculpt a little easier with pinky white vs. a snow white doll.

      Yu Jin asks for your understanding about not using urethane because it has been difficult getting her dolls casted in urethane due to all the defects that show up. For some reason, the French resin is creamier and the dolls come out perfect for her.

Is that Roda's Default Face up? Or could I ask that if I am lucky enough to purchase Roda she have the Face up in ^^ That Pic?

    10. Catrina, is there any way to find out if she can add the UV protectant to the french resin or if she'll be offering Roda in white urethane later? My dolls are all white and they get a lot of exposure to studio lighting and sun so it's very very important to me that they not yellow quickly. Particularly this girl because she's supposed to be stark white with white hair.

      And on another note, I sent a test email to the roda email address last night and it came back as a failed delivery. When I sent in an email for the Half-Elf I never got anything back at all. Very worrisome. :(

    11. The email address is not to be used until the doll ordering begins.
      We don't want people doing multiple orders for the same doll, which might cheat others from having a chance.

      St. James, we all know you don't like French resin so it might be a good idea not to order a doll at this time. At some time, urethane might be available but it won't have the translucent quality that many people admire.

      Yu Jin has worked on this sculpture for over six months, and I love this doll very much.

    13. Clearly I was too hasty in expressing my feelings of disappointment. A discussion thread seemed like a safe place to express worries, but I'll keep them to myself from now on. :eusa_sile It's true that I did start a thread that asked questions about french resin and yellowing because I have no personal experience with it. I stated that yellowing bothers me, but I have yet to form a personal opinion about french resin. If Yu Jin believes that the problems with urethane casting detract from her work, then I trust the artist. I love this doll so much already, and after discussing my misgivings with my friends, I've realized that I won't care if she darkens over time. She's really not very expensive, so if I'm paying a dollar a day to enjoy seeing her for even the next two years she's well worth it. I spend more money on drinking tea every day, so why deny myself this beautiful girl out of fear of damaging her? I can see now that my backing out of ordering Limwha's Half-Elf because of the resin was really just because she wasn't exactly the one for me.

      I certainly was not trying to cheat anyone out of a chance to buy Roda by sending a test email. Others, including yourself, have mentioned that emails have gotten eaten by your server. The content of the email was a profuse apology for even being so neurotic as to send it, but I just couldn't stop myself. :sweat

      I know that this is a busy and stressful time for all of us retailers, and I'm sorry to have burdened you with additional questions, Catrina. Doing simultaneous Limwha/Supia orders this weekend is more than enough work to make anyone snap, I'm sure. I'll humbly try my luck with everyone else tomorrow night. :eusa_pray

      The instructions for ordering clearly state not to email the address before or after... or to email more than once. I'm mystified why anyone would be sending emails before the ordering time. If I allowed multiple entries, it would clearly benefit the person having more than one entry in. That is why I disqualify people who send in more than one.

      Please remember that some of the artists, including YuJin, can read English a little. I know for a fact YuJin does come on DOA sometimes.

      The artist alone decides the medium to use to cast her dolls. Whether she decides to cast them in French resin or tin foil, it's absolutely her choice. She stated her decision was made because the urethane resin was causing defects in the dolls. I think that's a good reason. Regardless, she will make a decision based on her vision for the art she is creating.

      That being said, it's your decision to buy something based on the information you get, and your own personal preferences. We respect that choice, which is just as personal as the artist's choices.

      Thanks, Catrina! I heartily agree, and the kudos go to Yu Jin. Kate transcends medium and category. Sometimes I'm hard pressed to even think of her as a doll. She looks like she's about to breathe and speak to me. Anyone, that is considering buying a Supia will be heartened to know that they are venturing into another echelon of artistry. Good luck to all who are trying for her today! I'll be among your ranks. :-)

    17. Thanks Kitty, it's wonderful thinking you have a chance to end up with both of these girls.

      Roda took many months for YuJin to make, and she had two bouts of physical exhaustion making her. I truly appreciate her making them available to international people. These artists are offering us something so personal and precious to them.
