1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Surprisingly Positive Things People Have Said!

Oct 7, 2007

    1. Aw! That is so cute! It's nice when people surprise you like that.

    2. I wonder what is the best thing that you've ever heard when someone comment on you doll.:)
      Please share your moments. ^^

I don't have a doll but planned to have one this year.:)

P.S. sorry for my bad english, I'm not native english speaker^^"

    3. I don't have a particular moment, but...

I've had a few people say that Darastrix is one of their favorite Juri 06s, that always makes me feel good. :)

And I love when someone randomly complements one of my boys saying they are HAWT! lol!

    4. I am happy whenever people are interested in them.

    5. Well because mine is a smaller doll a lot of the time I get comments like, "He's so cute." And the fact that he's very boy like. My mom brought my digital camera to work to show some people him and the more distant picture they actually thought he was a real guy! Because of the way my mom worded what she said they thought he was my boyfriend until they saw a close up picture of him and realized that he was actually a doll. :)

    6. Don't have my boys yet but I had a friend call thier molds "beautiful". It was cool since she isn't a doll person. :)

    7. Yeah I thought it was really cool when my mom should interest in my doll because she just isn't a doll person either. She never has been even when she was little. And although a BJD is something that she wouldn't own herself she does like to see mine and hold it from time to time. :)

    8. I had a lady say she could tell Xavier was "alive". That was the best comment ever.

    9. this isn't a "your doll is.." comment but my mom has always thought my dolls were too expensive and just shook her head when I showed her a new one....
then just recently I decided to sell a couple to fund some others I had my eye on...and told her that I sold a couple of dolls....her first words were..."you didn't sell your big boy did you?" {meaning Kisten my Hound} and I told her no way!! it was the first time she actually showed some "concern" over one of my dolls.. I think she likes him!!:)

    10. I love it when people say SeNii's so lifelike, especially when expressed through my photography. It's a double comment, that SeNii is so great and my photography doesn't suck! XD

      Probably two of the best things ever said to me were, "He's the most beautiful BJD I've ever seen," and when my friend who is extremely anti-BJDs said that he liked the way I had SeNii dressed. ^ ^;;

    11. the reaction of my family was quite surprisingly positive, my mom loves my doll, saying that she is so cute and pretty, -- i was really surprised when my brother who got nothing to do with dolls at all said so too . Last time he said that every time he sees a barbie in a shop he has to think about how much better bjds look (no offense to barbielovers, just repeating what he said).
And then my grandparents: I went do their garden to take some nice pictures and they were all like trying to help me :"is she standing right?, hold on, her hair is not falling correctly , she is so sweet..." -- that totally made my day back then
My other grandma even gave me a deco-beach-chair and promised to keep looking for nice fabrics I could use to sew >^-^<

    12. Oh, I had an awesome experience the other day~
I have been a bit overzealous with my Emma's clothes making (and have been posting a bajillion pictures in myspace bulletins and facebook notes and whatnot) and I actually convinced TWO FRIENDS that they really wanted one themselves!
Of course, they shied away from the price, but now I'm helping her find an inexpensive doll! :)
Having design-friends is pretty kickbutt, so I'm sure it was the clothes making that set them off to wanting one. But seriously, it's cool.
And I had a guy friend tell me yesterday "They're not that creepy actually. She's kind of cute" Which is a huge compliment coming from him XD
He's not a doll person At All.

    13. Yeah, same. My boyfriend isn't a doll person and thought Gwen and Alaw were freaky looking, but he really likes Zee and thinks he has a cool name! Maybe it's sticking up for the little guy in a house full of women?

    14. A lady said that I just look like one of my dolls (a cp ani I no longer have) and I was like really? Because Artemis was gorgeous in my eyes and I never thought someone would compare me to my pretty doll.

    15. I wasnt sure where to reply like this, and I didnt want to post a new thread.. But anyhow. I was with my mom today, going through a bunch of old stuff, but I took my Rail with me, like I have been doing lately. It wasnt something possitive.. but it did surprise me, because it wasnt negative either. But she looked at me and asked, "So how come HE is coming?" She used to call my dolls its, or confuse them with being female. So it just completly surprised me that she would refer to him as a he instead of it, or even ask about him all together. So I suppose that is something possitive. ^^ To me anyhow.

    16. I can't think of any one thing in particular that was said... But when meeting up with bjd-friends in public places like the mall, I'm always _really_ pleased whenever anyone comes up and just demonstrates a genuinely positive reaction. So refreshing compared to the myriad covert stares and raised eye-brows sometimes.

The last time I was doll-geeking at the local mall, a couple came by genuinely interested asking genuine questions and the woman kept commenting on how cute Toshi was. (Yay!) And this random guy, who looks like the type that wouldn't have any interest in dolls whatsoever was like, "I just wanted to come by and tell you guys that those are really cool." Simple, but nice none the less. :)

    17. What you've posted is entirely appropriate for this thread! And, I think it was positive--anytime someone can change their attitude even slightly is very positive! I think it's a big step to call him "he" rather than "it"!

These are my favorite! The people you peg to have absolutely no interest or to hold only disdain for this hobby who surprise you like that! Awesome.

    18. Okay, so I actually have one. I know that my brothers don't really like my dolls - I guess because they see them as girly things. They were the only ones around the house when I received them. My mom and little sister were on vacation for the entire summer, so they hadn't gotten to see either of the dolls that I'd gotten. When they finally came back, I took my dolls down to the living room for them to see, and mom - who had seemed pretty neutral about the whole thing before - commented on my girl saying that "She's beautiful!". She seemed pretty enthusiastic too, so she must have genuinely thought that. I was pleased by that, since at the same time, my older brother was making fun of my boy saying that "He's loose" - and he was rather loosely strung, but still. I hadn't really expected a reaction like that from my mom. I knew my little sister would like them though. At least nobody ran from the room screaming that they were creepy!!

    19. My friends are very positive about my dolls and have said they are beautiful etc.
But the best thing was when I got my Sabik elf head a few weeks ago. I photographed him and e-mailed a picture to work to show some friends, expecting then to maybe think he was a bit ghoulish (having no body or hair!) . My friend Sandra said, "Look at that - he's the perfect man!".
