1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Surprisingly Positive Things People Have Said!

Oct 7, 2007

    1. My husband was initially not too happy about me getting into the hobby. His was sort of a "oh, whatever, as long as they don't kill me in my sleep" attitude.

      But upon receiving my DZ Feilian Bunny girl, he said "I'd hit that."

    2. This just in, from the Land of Un-Doll-Positive-People. Breaking news! My aunt just posed my new boy (brand-spanking-new, just came in today!) with his hands behind his head on the bed, gave him a kiss, and just left ^^

      She also plans to: A) Drive to me Tenshi-no-Sumika LA tomorrow, B) buy him some decent shoes, and C) pose him cutely and totally randomly.

      Guess who's being supportive? <XD Gosh, I love her.

    3. Well, I showed my mom the girl I have my heart set on today... and she's fallen in love with her!! Even said she'd help me get her, and as this will be my very first BJD, I'm PSYCHED!! I've begun referring to this as "my creepy hobby" after my brother's description of it, and my dad still things it's a total waste of moolah, but mom and Grandmother are both really supportive! So I'm psyched. ^.^

    4. *laughing* OMG. That is completely hysterical. :lol:

    5. I took Alec to the Maryland Renaissance Festival with me yesterday. He was in sort-of costume (looking more like Mal from Firefly than anyone period-appropriate), and this big, burly guy came up to me, peered at him, and said, "Cool."

      That just made me so happy, especially since he didn't seem like the type to even notice a doll. ^^ Reminds me of a comedy sketch I saw once...

    6. tHe best was when my housemate actually -held- one of dolly.. and kinda played with her for a while... she just looked up at me after moments of silence and went "I totally get it now. .... and I kinda want one" LOL

    7. Well, I just brought Nik into work today, and the girl that worked the shift before me (I work at a mall info booth) immediately did a double take, kind of was all, "What are you holding?" and asked me questions about him; What was he, why did I bring him, etc. Then she said he was cute and was off to do her paperwork.

      He's laying down on the desk now. No one's noticedh im so har, but my shift did just start. x3

    8. My friends always compliment my dolls if they come over and they're wearing new clothes. It's almost like a makeshift runway show at my house....

      "Oh, that's an awesome shirt! It goes well with those pants..."

      "Nice hat, Josiphe!" (That's my El's name..)

      Other than those compliments, I'll get comments from passerby's and people in craft stores that admire them and find them to be very beautiful. It's a pretty decent feeling.

    9. Sorry for the double post. I just started watching Firefly and it's amazing... So that kinda made me happy... lol.

    10. When my aunt came to visit and stay with us, I was a little unsure if she would like my dolls or not. I mean, I LOVE her, and she and I have a big connection, but I was a little nervous about showing her such big dolls for the first time. I haven't had negative reactions, but I know that not everyone may like these dolls.

      I am more than happy to say she thought they were simply gorgeous. Her friend collects dolls, but she thought my dolls were much more lifelike. ^_^ She always complimented them, and had to take a look at some of their clothes- she told me I have a gorgeous collection and she can't wait to see who I get next.:)

    11. Well...

      Just had a few people come up and see Nik sitting on the desk adn as i was running their giftcard, started asking questions about him... and namely called him a "bad broad" and asked that "her name was" and kept going on about how cute "she" was...

      .... Well, I just said her name was Nikki. Since that's one of his nicknames. >>; *cough* He doens't look girly to me but, then agian, I'm into the anime/visual kei subculture kinda and know what ot look for... ><;

      Somewhere I saw a dollfie T-shirt that said, "I'm a boy". ... I shoudl look into the purchase of said shirt.

      At least it was all positive. x333;

    12. I'm not sure if I ever posted this, but earlier this year, I was showing one of my friends pictures of some of the "cooler"-looking BJDs. When I showed her Sard she just said, "If he were human, I would do him."
      As promised, I added it to my facebook quotes without explaining the context in which it was said and she told me she got weird looks for a week, haha!

    13. Imhitomi- XD oh wow, that is the quote of all quotes. One of my friends says "I'd tap that." whenever she sees Mystic ^ ^;;;; (I have yet to quote her on FaceBook, though >>;; )

      Anyway, I bring my own story to the table~! It wasn't something someone said directly about Mystic, but after Japanese today, one of my friends came up to me as I was packing up and asked "Hey...where did you get Mystic from?"
      I was so startled! Pretty much went like-
      Me: Well, there are a bunch of different companies, each with tons of different molds. I got Mystic from dreamofdoll.com. Why?
      Friend: I was thinking about looking in to getting one.
      Me: (I was pretty sure she didn't know their price) They're kind of expensive, though. (right off the bat...didn't want her to feel bad when she started looking at companies)
      Friend: I know :) But they're so cute!
      I was so happy after that! X3 It's not what she said, but the fact that she developed an interest in BJDs after seeing Mystic two weeks ago (I brought him to school) and cared enough to ask about him. :D

    14. one time a lady went all crazy over my blythe and wanted to know all about them. she wasnt even deterred by the price! she just kept nodding in wonder and joy the whole time!

    15. This is more funny and random than cute, but it made me giggle a bit x3

      I linked my friend to my dA on msn to show her something and she came out with;

      Alison ++ rainbowness says:
      dudee lookin at your account makes me feel asif ive entered dolly version of facebook
      Alison ++ rainbowness says:
      all ur comments are by other DOLLIES
      Alison ++ rainbowness says:
      its lik DOLLIES all comment each otherr
      Alison ++ rainbowness says:
      likee get wht i meann?

      xD She notices the community too. :3 It just made me laugh. ^^

    16. I was carrying Pacha out of Michael's craft store and this lady came up to my friends and I(she had her Bory, Holland, with her) and started talking about us. She asked us if we would stop by her doll group and talk about ball joints dolls to them. And I quote, "There used to be about eleven of us but we're so old they just kept dieing off. So now there's only about four of us left.":o
      She was a nice old woman though...

    17. my friends mom is always complimenting my dolls. especialy their hair. i was worried at first because my friend said she wasnt really a doll person, but when i first showed her Irukandji(DOD U) she couldnt stop saying how cute he looked. just today i took Tovaish(CP El) over to show off his new wig and ask her to trim it, and she said it was the perfect color for him and then she said it was too long before i even said anything lol. she just called me too cus i left him with her, and she told me that she put his hair in a ponytail and cut it off, put the hair in a sandwich bag and wrote "Toph's First Haircut" on it.

      im constantly getting nice comments for my dolls from people when i take my dolls with me to walmart. ^_^

    18. Since I was using pics of Saif for a class project, I started talking to one of the guys I knew about BJDs and he didn't react stupidly. Huzzah! He thought the eye switching and taking them apart was kind of cool.

    19. I wasn't really sure how my friend would react to my hobby, since I only see her in Poetry class and in passing. But after I ordered my boy I was on such a hyperactive rush, I couldn't resist rambling. (M=me and C=friend and RG=random girl)

      M= OMG!!! I'm soo happy~~~<3
      C= :O Why?
      M= I just ordered my dollie ^^
      C= What does he look like?
      M= *pulls out photo*
      C= Wow she's soo pretty *L*
      M= He
      C= Wow he's soo pretty
      M= >w<
      C= >w<
      RG= Why is Jesse so happy? (me)
      C= She just ordered her pretty MAN DOLL!!! <33
      M= xD
      RG= O.o

      ~~
      It was such a great reaction...I was soo happy. Especially since I only had to tell her Bory was a boy once. :D *dances* Now she always refers to him as my pretty man doll when someone asks...its great. <3

    20. I take Aki everywhere with me and have had way more positive reactions then negative ones. The last time me and my mother went a restuarant with the dolls, I brought my camera and had them posed like they were reading the menu and when the waitress came up, she said something like I'll come back to get the menu when they're finished ordering. :) The waiters their were fascinated by them. Another time when I was the store, there was a lady that randomly out of no where shouts, "You're dolls are GORGEOUS!!" Kind of scared me since I didn't expect it but I thought that was nice. A lot of other times I had people who were asking so many questions about Aki and how handsome he was. You get more positive reactions then negative ones I've noticed since I've owned Aki. :thumbup
