1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Surprisingly Positive Things People Have Said!

Oct 7, 2007

    1. When I first showed my doll Kyran to my aunt, one of the first things she did was flip up Kyran's shirt. She didn't do it enough to show off her boobs, my aunt just wanted to see her belly button (That is what anatomically correct meant to my aunt. She can be so cute sometimes! ^_^) She ended up doing the same thing twice more that evening because "it was so perfect and cute!"

    2. Well I was very pleasantly surprised the other day when my friend Sposey actually helped me create an elaborate story involving potential dolls I might get. She used to think they were creepy. :)

    3. An older lady who works at a local fabric shop surprised me when I brought my MNF Chiwoo in on a thread/ fabric-choosing expedition: she took one look at him and said he couldn't have been cheap.

      Why? I asked.

It turns out that she makes porcelain dolls for herself - from mold to finished (and fully clothed) doll - and had based the 'not cheap' remark off her own personal experience. She thought he was so cute, and it was really fun to have one of my dolls around someone who appreciated them as works of art and personal fun. :D

    4. I'm getting my first BJD soon and I've been buying him clothes, jewelry, his wig and eyes, etc. My younger sister was home for the weekend and I told her about him. She didn't seem very interested at first. My sisters are never really interested in hearing about my hobbies. They can't stand video games, comics, and such. Most of the time they just role their eyes. While she was home, I showed her his clothing and a top hat I decorated for him. She messaged me the other day asking if I had anymore "dolly stuff" to show her cause she thought it was "kinda cute" It made me smile.

    5. Mum took my step-sister and I shopping last night. I spotted a chair that was SD sized and mentioned so to her. My mother, who is nornally very against my doll hobby, picked up the chair and brought it for me! A nice suprise from the woman who chastises me for buying the poor guy some new eyes

    6. at the beginning my parents where against it, now my mom happily want me and my two older sisters to show our dolls to family and friends. haha
Also my grandparents think my doll is very pretty.
My cousin can't wait to see new pictures of my girl with new clothes on XD.
So until now i have mostly got positive comments from people.

    7. Hee, I was just pleasantly surprised actually. Usually my friends (who mostly aren't into dolls) don't say a whole lot about my crew - though they have called them pretty or cute. But today I got a one on my newest boy:

      "F * * *, Jossi is awesome!"

XD That may be the most awesome comment I've ever gotten, lol

    8. I brought Musket (DZ Yuu) to work today and everyone has been very interested in him, asking questions and such. I feel lucky to work in a place where I can bring my dolls in occasionally!

    9. I was at a baraque with my friend and a bunch of people came over complimenting on how cool they where. Is was a nice change from the 'eww, their creepy' reaction. Also little kids kept coming over to see them, it was really cute.

    10. You know, I have not had much interaction with small children where my dolls are concerned! It's nice to know that they were interested rather than being scared (espcially since, depending on how old the child is, the doll could be nearly their size if it's an SD O_o)!

    11. One of my non-anime friends told me the dolls are really amazing looking. That I was adorable for collecting dolls. :aheartbea

    12. What surprised me most was when people asked me if they could have their photo taken with my doll. Granted, it was at an anime convention and doll meet, so a positive reaction to dolls was only to be expected, but I was surprised by just how positive ^.^

    13. I took Chae-ri with me to MobiCon, and people went nuts over her. This isn't the first time I've taken a doll to a convention, but it was the first time I got such an overwhelmingly positive response. The Damn!Pixie lady and I spent HOURS talking about dolls, and she was praising Chae-ri the whole time.

    14. That is so nice. What wonderfully positive comments :-)

    15. This isn't anything positive about my own dolls, but ever since showing my mother pictures of the ones I like, she said they looked like aliens. The I showed her some Tinies, and she thought they were adorable! I was kind of bizarre, but still made me happy; there's definitely a doll for everyone out there :)

    16. At almost every doll meet I've been to, at least one or two people stop by to ask what the dolls are all about.

At one in particular, though, one of the security guards in the building made it a point to come over & ask a lot of questions. He mentioned that he was interested in them as an artist & that he'd love to use them as models for his drawings. He was really nice & genuinely curious about everything, so we gave him the websites for a couple of the dolls he was most interested in & the URL for the DoA Forums, of course! :)

    17. I have been working on modifying a doll for the past month or so. It's been a pretty long process and he's still not done :( I recently started talking and showing him because most of my friends are nerds and LOVE anything comic related so I've posted a few photos on facebook and have started saying I customize dolls at work. Yest me and our new coworker were on the topic of awesome things happening today. I mentioned I had a few exciting things arriving(he didn't know about my dolls yet) but I mentioned it's kind of embarrassing so I didn't want to say. He got really curious but (obviously) thought the worst so I caved and said..."I customize dolls and sometimes make money from it" He looked slightly relieved and said that's pretty cool. My other coworked chimed in and said that I'm really good at it too.

My fiance when I first started collecting was pretty weirded out by them. He still is but has accepted that his space is going to be shared by creepy and realistic dolls. I started planning a meet and I mentioned about him coming and he is actually a little excited about it :D

    18. I took my little Elizabeth to the mall and someone in the makeup department spotted her in my friends arms cause I was busy putting something in my bag.
She called out and asked what she was carrying in her arms and we showed her to the other girl.
She absolutely loved it and said she was beautiful. I'd just bought her from Volks so I haven't had a change to test a face-up on her yet.
But she said she'd want one in place of a boyfriend but then we told her the price and the make-up lady and her friend joked about it.
But I was so happy cause she liked Elizabeth even though she didn't have proper clothes or face-up yet XD
/I wrapped her up in ribbons cause I was on the way to get her clothes XD/

    19. My mom was like...*smiling and proud* "She's so pretty!"
My aunt was like... *0* "I want one...her face is so gorgeous!"
My co-workers were like..."OMG that is the cutest thing I ever saw! So gorgeous and pretty!"
My cousins were like *.*...We want one too!
Other people are like *.* That's one big doll! She can stand! OMG that is so pretty! So Cute!

I took Naya when we are out shopping and people would smile when they see her :) Especially little girls ^__^

    20. My mom is talkin' about my Diamea like about her next daughter^^
and earlier she was talking like about sth bad, but when Diamea came, she changed her mind and fall in love with her!
