It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Surprisingly Positive Things People Have Said!

Oct 7, 2007

    1. within my group of close friends there are 2 girls and 5 boys and me (im a girl. well, i was the last time i checked...). One of my girl friends, kaii, became interested in dolls, and then i did, and then my other girl friend did, and 4 of the boys just laughed at how 'creapy' they looked. To my utter surprise, ed really really liked them. He's even thinking about getting one himself! (It just really showed me how he had matured since i'd first met him- he no longer follows the crowd he now goes with what he likes (which seems to dolls), despite peer pressure, and it really made me respect him.)
Thats pretty much the nicest thing thats happened...

    2. I was at the hospital with my friend, we were eating our lunch and my DOC Kirill was sitting next to my arm.
These 5 older women sat at the table next to us, we were jsut randomly talking and one of the women saw Jasper and said to her gal pals, "Oh my gosh! Look at that doll!" *I was thinking, "oh man she s it..."* She then said, "It's amazing!" I looked over and smiled and asked the women if she wanted to hold him!! she was in LOVE with him! Hold him, petting his hair, and posing him! One of the OLDER older women said, "She's very pretty..." then the women that was holding HIM said, "IT'S NOT A ! She doesnt have !" WE LAUGHED SO HARD! But alot of times, it seems like older women like the dollies MORE than the ones closer to my age? But HEY, THAT WORKS!! :)

    3. The other day we were on the strip [at the beach] looking fro subway, and we walked past Ocean Mystique [a piercing place] and a girl passing out fliers said. 'What the f**k are those things?!" And I swore I thought we were going to be joked and she's all 'What the f**k is wrong with you" and so on and then she examines them and says they're pretty cool, and then this other tatted and pierced guy comes over complimenting that they're pretty cool looking, and that they were interesting, pretty positive, despite it not starting that way. xD

    4. OH YOU!

I was getting ready to post the same story...

      Darn...
So yes, I am the other person in the we.
and that was an interesting dilemma.

The same day some people came up and asked us where we got them, saying that they had seen them online before. I think I offered to let one of the girls hold Quinn for a minute, but I didn't realize she was all sandy from skimboarding, and they (thankfully now) said no.. But she and her friend were really polite. =]

    5. People at my school are (9 times out of 10) very close minded. But I took my first boy to dinner one night, and my one friend simply died! She loved him. Now, she always cuddles with him and has him sit on her lap. lol My other friend claimed him as her "nephew" simply because they have the same favorite color. *shrugs* xDD

When I got my newest one, I took him to the end of semester band party. My one friend adored him and cuddled with him. The others didn't find him creepy or anything, but they also had way too much fun with him. I had to intervene :sweat

    6. Between my two roommates and I, there are thirteen dolls and a floating head in my house (and another two are due to arrive this week for one of my roommates o.O) so a lot of people, when they come over, freak out. Even more so when they realize that all thirteen are sitting on my vanity in my room. I get the usual "how can you sleep like that", "why waste your money on those", etc. but one of our friends, everytime she comes over, she grabs one doll or another, and curls up with them on my bed, just holding them as we watch tv, or play D&D, or whatever. It's so cute... she desperately wants one now, and keeps talking about how she wished she was a doll.

    7. There was one time that I took Nezi (my DOT Shall) with me to a restaurant for a quick dinner. She was sitting on the edge of our table and this family with two young girls come in and sit near us at a booth. The little girls were so cute and kept looking at Nezi and telling their mom about the pretty doll. ^_^ Their mother asked me what type of doll it was and I explained BJDs and the mini culture behind them. She was really attentive and seemed like she really liked them. She even told me that her girls were in love with their American Girl dolls and kept asking her if Nezi was one of those. :XD: The girl's mother then asked if they could see Nezi up close so I sat Nez on my arm and showed the eldest girl. She touched her hands and moved her arm really gently, it was really sweet. :aheartbea One of the best experiences I've had with anyone outside the BJD world. :D

    8. Just recently I showed my mom the dolls I'm interested in and I was afraid I would have some horrible reaction to them. Suprisingly she really liked them! She wasn't even that suprised at the prices. :)

    9. This morning, I logged onto ICQ before going to work to ask my colleague whether I could sit at my usual desk (we don't have fixed desks but of course, everyone's got their preferences). She told me there wasn't anyone sitting at it - and then asked me when I'd bring Luken to work with me! Sheesh, my jaw nearly dropped through the floor, I can tell you! I mean, I've been showing her pics of Luken (and my three little guys, too) and she really seemed to like him whenever I did. But asking me to bring him to work - I really didn't see THAT coming.

Well, Luken's outfit isn't finished, so I'm not taking him out in public, yet - he'd never EVER forgive me for dragging him to work when he's wearing his boxers! - but I had to promise I'd bring him along once he got proper pants and I got a carrier bag for him. I had to bring one of my little guys instead. And another one on Friday. *lol* Never would have thought!

    10. I don't tend to take my dolls out in general public much, only at doll meets. What I do tho is take Kefri and her horse and often Kryss as well to model horse shows, where they compete in costume class. Now model horse people also know all about having a slightly odd hobby that most 'mainstream' folks at tend to raise an eyebrow at...even so the comments I've got are a bit hit and miss.

This last weekend tho a lady who does lots of sculpting of resin horses turned up, and she really loved my dolls, she was holding them for ages, and said how nicely sculpted they were - she went away with the name DOA and ABJD to look up online.

In fact pretty well all the comment's I've had have been at doll shows, where they at least have an understanding of someone wondering around with a doll, all bar one were positive, and mostly it's 'OOOH! Is that a Dollfie? I've heard of them but never seen one' to which my stock reply is 'yup this is my girl Kefri, wanna see?' - then it's usually cue to start a whole dollfie conversation.

At the horse shows several people have come and said how nice they are, one of them where my team had been in the ring and I'd sat the dolls on my table, for the rest of the day people were coming over and re posing them, we had a whole storyline of Kryss eating cake and Kefri getting VERY cross she didnt get some .... lol.

    11. My dad was really impressed with Imogene when he saw her for the first time. He heard me talking about her for awhile and when he was finally able to come home and see her, he said she was really pretty. I was really glad that he wasn't totally appauled at the cost of her.

    12. Last month, I took Athene (CP NS Lishe) with me to Florida. It was her first time on a plane. I had to have her on my lap because the bag I'd brought her in could only fit in the overhead bin, and I was NOT shoving her up in there.

(Ironically, someone dropped luggage FROM the overhead on both her and me during the flight. It landed right on her face, but I'd put a face cover on her, and it SAVED her completely. Absolutely no damage. Who would've thought a little piece of plastic would do that.)

The couple next to me was nice about her, and even asked me where she was when I saw them in baggage claim later (I had put her back in her bag). When I exited the plane, a stewardess said, "Cool doll!!"

On my flight back, the couple next to me was very nice about her, and the gal even held her for me while I got up once. Several people on the plane asked about her, and no one said anything derogatory! I was SO pleased! :aheartbea

    13. I don't often get good comments towards them in the beginning. My friends weren't really sure if they liked them. It was weird.

But finally when I stopped bringing my doll around they all were like 'where are you babies? We miss them sitting on the sofa, watching us play video games.' So I brought the over again and well I guess thats the best I got.

    14. Awwe, that's cute. I had a brief conversation about BJDs with a girl I didn't even know liked them and the next day she asked me if I had any more pictures of her or if I had made anymore clothes for her.

      It was cute n_n

    15. Well, I took my boy to work with me on this past Tuesday. I got a lot of OMG, WTF? stares but almost everyone in my row of desks asked me questions and commented on how cute he was. Although...everyone thought he was a girl at first.

    16. A lot of times, I just get the "That's so creepy. D:" reaction, or the "You paid that much for a doll??" reaction. But I finally have a really good reaction! XD

My family and I just recently got back from a vacation to Maui and my dad brought some of his employees along as their Christmas present. One of the people who came along was Cliff, my father's law secretary (Karen)'s boyfriend. It was his first time to Maui and he had a blast--and ended up starting a tiki and hula girl collection. XD I found that absolutely cute and Karen, Megan, and Vanessa mentioned how I had dolls, too, and how I had brought Loki along on the trip.

The next day, we were heading home, and Cliff and Karen met up with us at the airport. I had Loki out with me because his finger had broke on the trip to Hawai'i and I didn't want anything else to happen to him; anyway, Cliff saw me and Loki and he zeroed in on us... and proceeded to ask me about Loki for a good while. Afterwards, he said: "Loki's really, really cool!" It made me happy. ^^

And to make things even better, the flight attendant that was managing our section was the same one who went over with us. She remembered me--and Loki--and talked about him for a little while. She adored him! Also, when we landed and were taking the elevator down to L.A.X's baggage claim, there was another family with us. The mother saw Loki and just beamed and told me that I had a gorgeous doll.

After putting up with a family's comments about how 'creepy' my dolls are and even having to make a separate LiveJournal to post up doll pictures because most of my friends list dislikes them.... I was seriously on cloud nine. Those three people seriously made me day. <333

    17. Oooh I took my dolls out today :D
I put them in my Iple carrier bag, 1 bag holds two SDs !

I took them to the fabric shop today, since, on tuesday, I went in and got some fabrics, and me n the shop lady stood there talking about dolls for like 20mins! :D

Both shop ladies were there today, and I took them in to show.
They were like, "ooo myyyyy :o :love" :XD:

I was so happy, hehe ^^
      One prefered my NS.Cocori, and she said she would have her as a medieval/pixie type girl ^^;;

    18. my little brother's photography teacher's first reaction when he saw Reimu yesterday was "°__°" then he said "she's creepy!" and then he said that she was beautiful. i didn't expected that from him, honestly... but it was nice, and Reimu was feeling happy ^^

    19. Um...when I got Dahlia, people reacted REALLY well. Actually, they were SO nice that it started to feel weird. A few weeks later, I found out everyone (well almost everyone) was laughing at my back. Since then, I've never shown her to anyone I'm not sure that'll really like her.

    20. Both my sister and mother reacted extremely well to Miyabi, which was a shock.

      That's so mean >:|
