1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

talking to your BJD

Sep 26, 2014

    1. I talk to my BJDs, but then again, I'm always talking outloud to anything and everything, including myself.

    2. I would say I talk at my doll, yes. It's not like I try to have a conversation or pretend she can talk back, but I'm a person who sometimes talks out loud (I especially can talk out loud while playing videogames). Talking to my doll is kind of just amusing myself but it does feel sort of like a bonding activity.

    3. Since I'm talking to myself from time to time, like commenting stuff I'm doing/seeing, I happen to address my girls too. It's stuff like "You look so pretty in that new wig!" or "Wow these eyes are so much better!". Also when I poke their eye by accident when putting on a wig or hit them somehow, I apologize

    4. Yep. I talk to my doll. I don't even realize Im doing it. It just kinda comes naturally.

    5. I only actually talk to them when I accidentally "hurt" them somehow or when I dress them up. Mostly I only talk to them in my mind. :"

    6. I totally talk to my dolls. Like, all the time.

    7. I don't really talk to my dolls out loud. I do say things like 'He told me ____ about himself,' if I get inspiration for their characters out of the blue, though. I don't really feel like they're actually telling me something, but facilitating my inspiration. ^-^

    8. I tend to mutter when I'm working on clothes or patterns, mainly things like, "would you just stand up properly?" Or "what's wrong with you?" When they won't hold a position.

    9. I sometimes do! It's mostly just a small hi as I pass by, or a comment about how cute and/or pretty they look (*´▽`*);

    10. I tend to say things to them when posing or dressing them, but I definitely talk to the dog more.

    11. I talk to her all the time, asking how she is, whether she is enjoying herself, or if she likes the new sweater I just finished for her. But then I talk to the kettle, toaster, milk jug, trees.............

    12. I don't have a doll yet, but I think it's like the same thing as talking to pets. Very cathartic,

    13. I talk to mine a lot, only the one. She sits with me in the lounge so when I go to bed I say goodnight and I usually say hello to her when I come home after being out. I also talk to her if Im changing her clothes and occasionally if she looks uncomfortable for some reason.

    14. I don't talk to my doll all the time, but I do it when I'm putting something on him (like clothes and etc.) and he isn't cooperating so it's like the casual 'pls cooperate' talk lol.

Sometimes I greet them goodmorning or goodnight but that's about it.
Maybe if I can take him out more often, I'd definitely talk to my doll more.

    15. I do, mostly in my head. It depends up developed my dolls character is in my stories.

    16. same

I literally do the exact same thing...

    17. I mostly scold them when they do stupid things, that is, falling over or being kicky when I try to pose or dress them. Otherwise as they are part of a story I'm writing I like to think of their story and play it out in my mind.

    18. I think someone else here phrased it best: I talk at my dolls for my own amusement, and generally about them; not personal issues or things of that nature.

Though of course there's nothing wrong with doing that, too! Talking out your problems, even to an inanimate object, can be very therapeutic. :) I'm just more of a journaling person.

    19. I do talk to my dolls when dressing them, sooo uncooperative at times. It's when they talk back that I know something wrong*_*

    20. Hmm. Yeah, I'd definitely have to say yes. Not any long, drawn out conversations mind you. But i like a little small talk. Telling my boy Kallistos how handsome or beautiful he looks. Saying "goodnight sweetie" when it's time for me to go to sleep or if he likes the new clothes i bought him. I'll sometimes tell him "I'm going to take a shower now, be right back!" Haha!
