talking to your BJD

Sep 26, 2014

    1. Talking to my dolls begins and ends at swearing at them if they kick/fall over/come apart/etc.

    2. I talk to all my dolls, figures, plush toys, and even my pc.
I talk to my BJDs the most, I always say "good morning", "Hello, I'm back", "You're pretty", and many things. I've been being like this since I was a kid

    3. I talk to them, cuddle them and even kiss them every now and then. Boys and lesbian girl are kissed different then the other girls. I am weird.... (Ciske was right in that one....)

    4. Always lol. I know his character so well that I like to talk to him

    5. I will talk to my girl sometimes, like when she flops her arm over me, or when I am trying to get her to hold her wig for me. but that is about it.

    6. Talking to your dolls is totally normal! I think its just a way of showing you're very attached and bonded to it :)

    7. Mostly its "Stand! don't fall!" "You behave!" in terms of posing. or "Would one of you like this outfit?" "Come on someone justify me buying that pretty outfit for them please?!" the response I get is usually my voice replying in their personalities.

Since they are my creative outlet, I expect them to "talk" in terms of snarky comments when I work on their shoots/projects but I don't have lengthy non doll projects conversations with them. And yes I have to remember to avoid snarking aloud when I'm in non doll owner company

I had been asked by strangers when I was out on a shoot if my dolls talk to me. My answer is that "I hope not, they would demand better living conditions otherwise."

    8. I literally talk to everything and my dolls are no different! :XD: Especially because they’re my OCs and their personalities are kind of projected, so it feels very natural to do so.

    9. I don't recall speaking to my dolls directly.... Well, the closest thing would be when I pose them for a shoot. I'd say things like "stay" "please don't fall" "omg can you stop" <-- (when they don't pose the way I want them to). I think that's the only time I ever speak TO them.:3nodding:

    10. i do talk to them when im trying to dress them, too uncooperate.

    11. Yes, I talk to them, similar to the way I speak to the cats and more animatedly than I speak to other objects, which I also do often.
@Ipledreamer brings up the most interesting part for me though, about when they talk to/through me. That part is essential and when I start to 'hear' them, then the magic starts to happen. I know perfectly well that it's all a function of me and my imagination, but it's still a pretty cool thing to notice the doll presence developing a sort of voice. Ideas begin to happen about the doll and their character then. Sometimes it happens right away but sometimes it takes a while. I have one that doesn't really speak to me this way and she will likely end up leaving.

    12. I talk to just about everything and anything, so it's only natural for me to extend this to my doll, I guess :XD:

    13. I tell her only two things.

      1. I feel so stressed out right now.
      2. I feel so lonely.

    14. I tend to chatter at them when I'm sewing for them or dressing them. Asking them about their style. It helps with character building for me. There are occasional swear words when aligning eyes tho.

    15. Always o that and even more when making them new clothes:blush

    16. I imagine they are alive, but I don't talk to them in life.

    17. I don't have a doll yet, but I work in a manufacturing site and occasionally the welding robot will hit me with stray sparks and I talk to them like they are people, "Excuse you, sir! Rude"

So I imagine when my doll arrives, I'll talk to her as well.

    18. So, I'm the type that talks to everything. I talk to my laundry when it wants to jump the basket to the floor. To the TV when I'm into watching something. I talk to whatever whenever when the mood hits me. Lol. But my dolls, stuffies, toys are a serious weakness of mine. I talk to them all the time during sewing, redressing, photos and getting them ready to go out places. It's just something I do. It's not like I expect them to answer back or anything.

    19. Guilty! I infer personality traits from them based on a whole bunch of stuff- how they move, do they hold the pose I want them to, how well they behave when being dressed, tipping over, etc.. and I start talking back to them based on all that. Yuki is a bit silly- one of her eyes came loose and she had a really goofy look on her face for a day or so until I could fix it, and the trait just stuck... Silvia is obstinate and difficult- nothing I buy for her fits her properly, etc... How I talk to each of them is different based on their personalities, and who I talk to depends on how I'm feeling and what sort of mood I'm in. I'm by no means holding conversations with them, but it is part of how I interact with them. I'd be worried if I had a doll I didn't talk to, because to me that would mean I didn't have a connection with her.

    20. oh yes indeed as they are on shelf by door I always say good night to them. mind you I talk to my model horses, my cat, things in the kitchen when making food and the best one is yelling at TV when I don't agree with something or egging someone on.
I think my best this week was when I was changing clothes on my pukifee and took the hands off to make it easier and some how the hand magnet stuck to the head and I was like come on Klaus help me find your hand you need it and I don't want you turning into captain hook and he stood there like here it is on my head !
