1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

talking to your BJD

Sep 26, 2014

    1. I end up talking to mine whenever I pose him or try making something for him. Mostly it is things like "stay", "don't do that", "cooperate silly", and "make it fit!". I don't really have a dialogue with him. I am thinking about starting to write little silly short stories in my journal about him to figure out his backstory more and give him a voice. I think that will help me become more attached to him since he is so little.

    2. I also talk to my dolls when I interact with them! Especially when dressing or posing them, or when I hold them I'll say things like "Are you comfy?"
"You look so sweeeet!" "Let me sit you down properly" and stuff like that haha... they never answer but it feels nice talking to them when I'm alone at home and talk to nobody all day long!

    3. Sometimes I ask forgiveness from my girls. For example when I inaccurately touch them... Or tell them how they are beautiful)

    4. That's so funny thread, yes I talk to them whenever I dress them up if they start to be kicky, I say things like( stop that) or ( don't even try you will wear it because I said so) or things like, you look so pretty :)

    5. I talk to them all the time all day when I leave home, come home for or about to go to sleep/wake up. Its a regular thing for me to talk to them.

    6. I talk to all my toys, including the plush and such. I figure if they're important enough to me to be part of my living space, they're important enough to talk to. As long as they don't talk back, I'm okay.

    7. I don't really "talk" to them, but I do occasionally say stuff to them when I handle them, stuff like "Hey, why are you being such a pain in the ass?!" or "Why are you so damn handsome, huh?". Dunno why, but I guess it happens naturally
Reading previous posts I see I'm not alone in doing it ;)

    8. I don't really talk to my dolls when I'm alone but when my boyfriend is around, we would both talk to them occasionally. It's mostly because I don't actually talk to my dolls but my boyfriend and I having fun pretending.

    9. Ehm. I do. Sometimes I just have the weird feeling like Nigel actually KNOW that I am talking to him and tries to find some way how to comunicate with me. But thats just a feeling :sweat (right? O_O)
I feel more comfortable when I am talking to Nigel, Kissa and "bodyless-legs". It is just natural for me ^-^

    10. I talk to them now and then. Not actual conversations or anything, just comments. Like if one is sitting and they flop over, I might say something like "oh, that's how you feel today? Alright."
And I'll say hi and bye to them when I take them in and out of their boxes. Sometimes I'll compliment them too. :)

    11. I don't have conversations with them, but I do comment on them or when I'm messing with them sometimes they will swing an arm and I might tell them "hold on I'm only try to fix it". Most of the time I'm silent to them but have thoughts about what they could be thinking (I think of them as characters in a story I've been writing, they are basically the inspiration of it). XD it's like they are actors though because sometimes they seem to act out of character, I guess that's when I comment on them out loud the most.

    12. Haha I think that is a very good point! XD

    13. I don't talk to mine, but then they live in a drawer most of the time. If they were on display I might be more tempted.

    14. I talk to my boys when I'm shopping for stuff for them online. I'll say stuff like "Hey Dai, do you like this sweater?" and then finish with "Yeah you like this sweater." or "Hey Kaine, would this wig look good on you? Nah, it's too long". It's fun to think that they are interacting with me :)

    15. I actually talk to my dolls an absurd amount! I used to be stuck in my room or basement all day with either chores or homework, so I'd get lonely and bored. To be honest, I probably had more conversations with my dolls than actual people at that point! I still would if they were still displayed in those rooms. (I had to move them because one of my friends thought it was a great idea to grab them by the face. I even discovered a crack on one of my baby's hands shortly after a friend came over-- I think they knocked him off the shelf and neglected to tell me!) I definitely talk to them more when sewing or painting them though!

    16. I have some conversations with them in my head. I do like to greet them in the morning when I wake up and when I come back home from work or school and I like to tell them good night before I go to bed.

    17. I don't talk to them directly. If I'm trying to put clothes on them and they bend in ways that make it difficult, I'll say things out loud. It's more to myself but I'll use second person like "stop doing that" or "why do you make this so frustrating" or "this clothing looks good for you."

I like to have them around cause I feel less alone when I'm isolated.

    18. I often talk to them, if I'm passing them by or working in the room that they're in. I usually just tell them how gorgeous they are.

    19. my routine before sleep is - taking care of pets - take a bath - take out all dolls out... talk to them one by one, hug them, then put them back in the closet, then sleepwhenever i pose them, i always say "stay.. don't move..." and so on... if i change their clothes and they looks awesome, I said it to them like " OMG, you are so handsome..." then hug them..my mom think i'm crazy and childish... but who cares... hahahaha

    20. Yes sometimes I talk to him XD That just happen the first time when I took him out of the box and there was a loud creak when I moved his back I was so shocked that I immediately apologized to him  lol or if I buy something new and dress him up, I tell him how good he looks with it and how much I like it on him. :3
