1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

talking to your BJD

Sep 26, 2014

    1. I also tend to talk to them mainly when I am sorting clothing, moving/posing them or taking photos. It is good to see there are others out there the same as me :3nodding:

    2. I don't really talk to mine about my "problems", but if I'm dressing them or photographing them I often say things like "Flynn, keep your arms straight" or "Goddammit Flynn stop falling"

    3. Guilty! I talk to mine when I'm dressing or posing them or whatever it might be. But then, I talk to the TV, too, along with other objects, and to myself when I'm shopping, and I'm pretty sure people around me think I'm strange.

    4. I don't talk with my dolls like they were living creatures but I talk to objects sometimes too.
Like cursing the table I just smashed my toe against or sometimes making noises like I got hurt when I just dropped something that doesn't even have feelings (wtf brain :huh?:)

    5. I've always talked to my doll sarcastically or in a humorous way. I don't legitimately talk to them.

    6. Oh, I talk to them. Not only that, I'm mean to them. I tease them and call them by silly nicknames. I've always been a talk-to-every-inanimate-thing-in-my-path kind of walnut, especially things I'm fond of. In elementary school, my favorite pencil had a name and personality. Who does that.

    7. Yup I do. But I also talk to my computer and such. Although when I talk its more out of frustration than other things (like when Im changing their clothes and the arm will not go through the sleeve. "Come one, work with me!!".)

I do the same!! If I dropp something I say that it hurts and my boyfriend asks me if it hurt and I say (with a straight face ofcourse) no. he doesnt get it, I dont get it but yeah, I do the same XD

    8. I don't have full on conversations with my floating head, I do talk to her a bit though. Mostly when handling her or when giving her a new faceup. I do really like using her name though.

    9. ...I do stuff like that.

So perhaps it's no surprise that I talk to my BJDs, too.

    10. Yup, I talk to them, especially when I'm moving them or trying to do something with them. Although I took up the habit of leaving one of my dolls "in charge" when I left for work last summer. Actively saying the words out loud, "Loki, guard the house" always made me laugh when I was locking the door. That mental image would last me through the day and sometimes kept me from losing my brains during particularly stressful situations.

I'm a person who tends to talk to and name inanimate objects so it's no surprise I treat my dolls like breathing people.

    11. Oh gosh yes. Absolutely yes.
Although lately I seem to apologize more than anything else.
"I'm so sorry - I swear I'll finish you soon. I'll finish sewing your clothes soon. Soon! D="
(I am a terrible doll mama xD)

    12. just wanted to say how adorable this is ^-^ <3

i talk to my doll ^^ but its not a surprise considering i talk to my dog and my geckos and my fish and my computer and my sewing machine video game characters..........^^; for my doll a lot of the time is me just kind of being like hi buddy you wanna sit with me for a bit? or "Ahh stop kicking me!" or "look new pants lets see how they fit!" stuff like that ^^ as of yet i dont really hold conversations with him ^^ granted i'm getting a better idea of his charcter and how he would talk/react to different things ^^

    13. I talk to mine all the time! Mostly to inform them that they're being jerks who need to keep their arms raised for a split second, but I do.

    14. I'm totally going to talk to my doll when she arrives. It'll be a mostly one-sided conversation but I'm the kind of person who has two-sided conversations with myself and talk to objects so it's all normal.

When I was younger, I had to say goodnight to all of my toys before I turned the light out, incase anyone felt left out. I still instinctively say goodnight to my toys (still have a few stuffed animals hanging around at 35 years old. A bedroom's not a bedroom without some toys in it).

    15. I definitely talk to my dolls. You breathe so much life and character into them, that sometimes I do forget that they are dolls.

    16. I talk to her, but then, I talk to everything. It's nice to see other people in this thread do the same. And the going "ow" when dropping something thing ... XD I thought that was just my personal brand of nuttiness.

    17. I tend to talk to my reborns while I'm working on them, so I'm sure the BJDs won't be any different.

    18. I talk to my doll a lot, actually. Whether I'm taking photos or changing his clothes or fiddling with his elastic, and sometimes when he's sitting on my desk I talk to him about what I have to do in the day. It helps me calm down, collect my thoughts, and remember what I need to do. If I tell someone (or somedoll) what I need to get done, I tend to remember it better than if I hadn't mentioned it to anyone else.

    19. I used to talk to myself a lot, and now I talk to my doll. lol. Cleaning, playing a game or sewing, you name it! I also talk to her when I'm feeling down.. makes me feel like someones listening you know?

    20. Does speaking for and talking to my dolls for 30 minutes count? xD then yeah
