Tan/African American/Black BJDs - Discussion!

Maybe if so many Cocori fans ask them to re-release her, they'll do it. I've seen in the Q&A that they're considering about bringing back the YID mobility joint body next year (well, it's only a 'maybe', but still there's hope!) when this year it is only Noctarcana thay are doing. So if they're re-releasing the body, there might be hope for Cocori also.

I myself have no character for Cocori and therefore am not planning on buying her, but I really hope my sister Blubelle will one day get one, because I also love the doll.

Regarding link1, in the Sewing forum, somebody made their own wig with curly yarn .
Its in there somewhere And I think JPop does a wig similar to link2.

It's a shame, because, as hard as it is to make dark resin, they've done it before, since like 2006, so why not now still?
I think eBay and the MP would be your best bet.

I still want a 2007 Lt Cocori, a 2008 Lt.Cocori, and a WS one custom tanned.
Maybe if I win Euromillions tonight...

 

It's getting funny though, now the "light tan" is about three different shades. "I'd like the medium dark light tan, please?"

I'm going to try and tan a B-el myself one of these days (got the doll all unstrung and ready, and the dye on hand. Just need to get the time and oomph.). If it's easy, or at least comes off well, I might go for a white skin gentle Cocori and tan her myself.

Well it'll be an hour or 2 till I find out if I've won. lol.
Even if I did, there's no Cocori's on the MP atm and IH aren't selling them. lol.
Ah well, I could always order all wigs, eyes, outfits,shoes and have them ready for when I can buy one

I see that they released the light Cocori again. I wonder if she will be the same as the Swan Lake color. In the pics she seems more pale than the Swan Lake but when I got her home she is more of a olive color.

Dark Cocori is back up again for sale as well!
Those pics were used when she was launched last year as basic (20080528 - 28 May2008), not long before being taken down.
She looks olivey in them photos, don't you think?

 

She looks lighter than the Swan Lake photos. I asked if they would bring the light Cocori back and they said no which is why I did that split. I can not wait to see the new Blackman. I asked about making him in a standard and they said that it would be difficult to do but I hope they change thier minds. They should also make that freshskin tan look as a standard thing too.

 

I just ordered a Dk. Cocori, I do wish that the light Cocori was a little darker, or they had more of a medium tone.

 

I saw they were available again. But $150 extra for tan? Doesn't that seem outrageous? Every other company charges $25-$70 max for tan.

yes, I realize that. But in light of some of the pricing changes we've seen from Korean companies, it looks like they did not dropthe ns and tan prices proportionally. I can't find any other company charging anywhere near $150 for light tan over ns. That's all I was commenting on. It just seems like a really high premium for the color, and I don't remeber the difference being that high in the past.

 

It is the standard version with faceup and mustache added + outfits. The Dark Aaron is back for sale again. I added the same optional items to try out, and it became US752 in total.

BUT and BUT...there is a HUGE price difference if you order in their Korean or Japanese website. SO ANGRY AND UNFAIR TO INTERNATIONAL COUSTOMERS. I am not sure if non-Korean or non-Japanese address could also order!

For example: The Luo"s price differecnce is about US200.

 

Souldoll is charging $180 for their tan and I think they're making it a standard thing for two of their dolls. I've heard tan is difficult to develop, so if you want tan, you're probably going to have to pay more. They probably can't drop the tan prices as much like they did with the NS and WS skin colors because of the fact that it is more difficult to produce.

ETA: Didn't the price for the standard dolls drop by about $60 or so? If that's the case, then that price difference between the tan and ns and ws has always been there.

 

Yes that is why I am totally tempted to buy a Luo now.

To be fair though the currencies are so volatile right now that if companies changed their prices every time the Won to Dollar, Won to Yen changed it would be all they had time for. In the past it looked like they were using Yen to USD comparisons and people paying in Yen were on the crap end of the stick but again the currencies have fluctuated and it is better to buy (usually in Yen than USD if you can). Yes $200 is a large difference but tomorrow or the next day it may not be such a large difference and in 2 weeks it may be just the opposite-but I doubt anyone will be complaining then

What would suck is if they put everything in Won-which I don't believe PayPal deals in that currency (??) so you wouldn't be able to use them. Then you'd be at the mercy of your credit card's exchange rate

back on topic though-I really like the light Cocori and I am glad they have had her in various resin shades, I hope to get her in this light tan before they change it again.

 

OMG I have just seen they have the Dk and Lt Cocori and Dk Aaron back up, (my dream dolls) I really want to order all of them lol! Well I can afford one but i'm not sure whether to get light or dark and I really want to see the 'blackman' character first before ordering, (but I don't want them to sell out). Hmm.

 

I managed to get a Hip Hop fullset Dark Cocori from the MP a few months ago. She is just beautiful. I have just ordered a light Gentle Cocori and I am hoping she is not too light. It was terrible trying to make up my mind which light Cocori or dark Aaron doll to get as I could only afford one. Really hope they keep these dolls up for ordering for a long time.

 

I keep putting one, then the other into my cart, calculating out how much lay away would be... then realizing I can't afford either of them, and putting them back. I hope they stay available for a long time too! *weeps*

RROSS: Where did you get that PERFECT wig for Aaron???
