It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. That moment when you first open the box

Nov 17, 2008

    1. It was a Lishe? That is too funny! :) Her nose is really pointy, isn't it? I don't think that really came through in the photos. At first I was't sure I was going to like the faceup on mine but it actually really suits her as long as she's in blonde wigs. It doesn't work as well with brunette hair colors.

    2. The first thing I thought when opening Yuki's box was: "man, he has such a huge feet!". Really XD

    3. I remember when I received Madeline...my Soulkid Miryu. I had wanted her so badly for nine months and I finally bought her. The wait time was unbearable. I had ended up ordering a doll I could receive in a short amount of time while waiting for Madeline. That doll was my first technical box opening and she did make me happy at the time, but what I really wanted was my Madeline. When I opened her, I just couldn't stop staring at her beautiful face. She was perfect to me... I have had a few let downs since then, but I am otherwise very happy...

    4. haha yep! guilty!!

      when I got my first Doll, my old MNF shiwoo, Matt (who I sold to upgrade him to SD) I almost cried when I first opened the box! I was ooo happy to finnaly have him! and even though he was faceupless and naked.. he took my breath away!

      with my second doll, wednesday.. I didnt have that because luts sent her the wrong skin colour.. so I was too dissapointed to think anything -_-;;

      when I got matt back as an SD.. I was just.. happy to have him back...

      but yes.. the first time was a great expirience for me! :)

    5. I felt pain. :XD: As soon as I opened my first doll, he kicked me. And then threw his headcap. That's how I knew he was perfect for the character he was supposed to represent. :sweat

      My other two boys arrived as separate heads and bodies, so it wasn't quite the same excitement as getting a full doll.

    6. My honest first thought?
      "Lol... Naked."
      After burrowing through much brown paper an bubble wrap. I love JunkySpot's shipping. Super secure but... It ain't an easy task to get to the nuclues (doll) in that cell. >>;

    7. I love box openings. I had one a few weeks ago.

      Hello there~! X3
      Though he didn't look anything like the promo picture... :sweat

    8. I smile a lot, but oddly enough, my first feeling upon seeing a new doll is ".. Oh."
      >_<;;
      Maybe it's because I always end up opening them around other people. It's really odd, but I find the need to restrain myself with other people around, and that leads to a feeling of disappointment.
      After that initial "Hmm," though, it's tons of fun and excitement and glee, haha. They really are a lot more beautiful than are shown in the pictures, but sometimes not what you expected! (El looks a lot more boyish haha). ;)

    9. When my doll arrived (exactly on New Years) I was at a friends birthday party, so I didn't know he arrived and apparently no one was home to sign him off to or whatever so the post office took him back. I didn't know any of this until I checked the tracking on the internet that said they tried to drop the package off but no one was home and that they would try again the next day. They also said that if no one was there the next day they would hold it at the post office and, if unclaimed, send it back. I was so freaked out that I rushed home the next day.
      Everything worked out fine after that(thank God) and opening the box was an extremely magical affair I was shocked at how pretty he was. I also couldn't believe I finally had a BJD.:D

    10. "Wow, he's really pale!":o

      Then again my first doll was a beauty white. Still, it was still shocking to see in real life.

    11. I had a wow moment. In fact, I think that moment if one of the best part of collecting BJDs for me. Especially the first time I opened a BJD box. It was shocking, in the good way, you know, like magic.

    12. I remember lots of squeeing and nervous giggling... :sweat when I finally got the box opened, I had to remember to keep breathing! My hands were shaking so bad I had to get my brother to take the 'opening' photos xD Heehee~ Good memories:)

    13. Lishe kicked me too, almost immediately after I got her all unwrapped. Then her arms and legs curled up and she went fetal. It was hilarious. She's calmed down since then. I think she was just excited to be home and went a bit overboard. ;)

    14. I think I carried my first boy around for three days after I got him. I was so excited and was just in awe when I unwrapped him. When I got my second boy, I was excited, but not as much. Didn't bond with him at all. =( But, my third boy! Oh, he is my pride and joy and when the mailman saw me at my grandfather's house and decided to drop him off to me right then, I was in heaven! I squealed so much when I opened his box.

    15. When my first doll arrived (my DoC Homme Kirill), my initial response was more along the lines of: "Oh.... he's smaller and lighter than I thought he would be!!" (talking to self while looking at the DoD box).

      Then after I opened the box and got rid of the bubblewrap and stuff, my next thought was: "My god, he stinks of resin............."

      I'll admit, while I loved how gorgeous my Kirill was from the moment he arrived and I took him out of the box, it actually took a good few days before I really warmed up to him and now I absolutely love him to bits and think he's adorable XD

    16. I was squealing so badly and almost to point of tears when I was opening the box and when finally opened.. And unwrapped the bubble wrap. The first thing I thought was..

      "... Wow, he's not pink."

      LOL. Yeah, I was surprised to see he had such a nice skin colour but I fell in love instantly with him. And the doll I'm talking about is on my lap now. XD

    17. I know that feeling. They always seem too be so much more beautiful in person!

    18. :fangirl: I was soo eccentric when I got my doll from the post office. MAN!! was that box bigger than I had expected. lol. THen when I was opening it, I peeked at my boy under the pillows. My expression was like..."wooh! He is big"...a little funny thing I did was that I put the pillow over him again; like I was afraid of his hand actually about to move or something. T^T he was soo cute, but the thing that stood out to me was his size. I was expecting him to be about two feet, but seeing him in person..GAWWd SD's are enormous. :gingerbreadman

    19. for me, it was seeing her feet and her hands. and that holding her in my hands is just.. unable to be put to words. the little details are amazing and it really does feel like they have a 'life' in them.

    20. Sometimes when I open a doll up I am just astonished how lovely she or he can be. I had a face up done on my older Narae recently by Pepstar and she just looked so gorgeous when I opened her box. So I know the feeling.
