The Nameless Doll: Troubles naming dolls.

So far, I only have three dolls that I have not given an official name to. Two of them I got a few months ago, while the other one is now one year old with no name yet. He is roughly based off a character from a book, but the book is WAY too popular for me to be comfortable giving him the same name.

 

So, a funny thing happened on the way... no wait wrong lead in ;p But still something kinda funny did happen on the way to a name... My first doll is still waiting... But here's the kicker... I had wanted to use the name "Drake" as part of my one guy, only, my newest doll came with it! Even worse the name of the new doll containing "Drake" was perfectly named complete with first, middle, last ... something rather unusual. So now my new doll gets to claim "Drake" and my first guy still has no name... My second last doll.... can't make up his mind yet.. but that's okay since I still have two more payments before he comes home LOL.... Maybe when he arrives he will pick one of the few I have for him ;p

 

If I'm shelling a doll that didn't have a previous character, I usually stalk baby name apps and websites and keep a list of potential names on my phone and take some off and add them until I settle on a name. Abel sat around for almost six months before I named him.

 

Well my first doll I didn't have any plans for, so I got her September 2015 and only just named her this month. x)

 

I'm horrible for naming dolls. And even if they manage to get a name I'm likely to change it several months later.

I've got some that have been here for 2 years with no names. All my Dollfie Dreams are still currently being referred to by their sculpt names >_>

I'm not sure if it bothers me or not, I'm equally terrible at coming up with characters and stories for them XD

 

at the rate your little ones breed I'd be surprised you came up with 'enough' names LOL

My Marauder turned THREE yesterday and he still does not have his own name ><

 

Hahaha you know me too well Tiku! (there should only be two new Azones by the next meet... I've given up trying to name them, you're right there's too many). But maybe I come by it honestly? I was 2 and a half weeks old before my parents even decided on a name for me. XD

Wow, 3 years?? Poor guy! Here's to hoping that someday inspiration will strike and the poor fella will finally have his own name.

 

lol that's funny about your name lol... my mom had my name picked out way before I was born... was a good thing i wasn't a boy... she never even considered a boys name lol... I should prollly bump the meet thread too O_o...

As for M... the worst is 'part' of what I wanted for his name was stolen by the last Iple doll! IH was right on the ball naming the newest HID guy ... Francis 'Drake' Alexandar VIII... it fits... So much for M getting to use Drake now ><

 

I seem to be in the minority here. I don't really have that problem.

 

I'm having that trouble with my newest boy, though I guess only being a head doesn't help his situation I was gonna call him Dimitri, now he seems more like an Alexiel, and while they are both nice names, neither feel like HIS name OTL

 

I still have on head nameless so i use a name that a friend suggest me XD I also tend to use funny name before LOL

 

I had a hard time thinking up a name for my little doll chateau birdy... thankfully she's on layaway so I had plenty of time, and landed on sullivan. She's a sulpher crested cockatiel and I just started playing with sulpher.
Right now I'm deciding on names for my snake girl (have a long time to decide on her, plus there's gonna be a lot of modding so I might decide when all that's done) and for my goat tiny girl, and she gets here tomorrow, so I hope she starts telling my about her soon
