1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    2. Me: Oh, she has a handsome bjd. He reminds me a little of Aladdin.
Me (later): What outfits should I get for my bjds? What if there was a "moob man" Aladdin? Why did I just think of something weird like that?
Me (tomorrow's headline): My bjd watches a romance show where there's a princess that has to choose between an Egyptian King or moob man Aladdin "thief King".
      ...NAHHHHHH.

      Thoughts like these...is this normal??

    4. Found it funny that I've been styling almost every boy sculpt into a girl....

    5. Well it's shoe shopping time again and I imagined Idealians at doll meets scrutinizing each other's nearly identical oxfords like the business card scene in American Psycho. Seriously why is it all oxfords... Where is the guy who struts on the scene in fabulous heels I need 9cm heels please

    6. Uh, you're asking the wrong person. I gave up normal a loooooooooooooooooong time ago.

Now. If you happen to recreate this idea - pictures please! :eusa_pray

    7. Love and Deepspace is a very popular otome mobile game right now, so I’d say it’s not all that strange. Who doesn’t like seeing a pretty doll in a themed costume? :XD:

    8. @MaleficentMrsofEvil Hmm.... Well, since you made your wish on post #666, it is now destined to come true, m'lady.
But, don't wait for me to make it. I need some time / help / inspiration to make it happen. I am curious if the right bjd already exists, instead of getting a new one cast for an Aladdin type. Should he have really big eyes? I don't know.

I need to look up that mobile game, I haven't heard of it before.
I have not thought much about themed costumes for my bjds. Just three, so far, But, I think that I would probably be brave enough to make or pay for one of those to be made.

    9. Today I gave myself a little heart attack :sweat If you've ordered the same company's products before, the updated packaging can be incredibly misleading, I guess!

I just got a package and was expecting the doll to come sandwiched between two pillows like before - sort of tied into a candy shaped thing with ribbons. Well there were two pillows alright! That's a good start! Ribbons also there - great amazing wonderful! I remove the top pillow and...
      ...
      ...
      there's no doll

Obviously panicking, thinking where can it have gotten lost, who to call, who to mail, taking tons of photos of the situation... and then I notice a zipper on the edge of one of the pillows. The doll was all cozy inside its sleeping bag :sweat I'm still laughing at myself a while later - I had not been warned!

    10. @cobaltconduct that kind of makes me think of when I got my Dream Valley Paris! The doll came with a big mushroom cap hat that was in a separate box from the doll. I got the mushroom hat in the mail, and the doll was delayed a week for some reason. So I just had a resin mushroom cap near as big as my hand until the doll arrived.

    11. Even after years of being in this hobby, every time I talk about ordering doll parts and pieces to friends I sound like I'm working on a body museum and it makes us laugh.

    12. I did that to my mom the other day, and I sounded like some sort of serial killer, because I was talking about getting an amazing deal on a body with no hands! And to cap that all off, I said “I’m sure the hands jar has a pair that will fit!” As though that’s normal to say.

    13. I love it! The deal on a new body is just too funny. I do the same thing with my mom, talking about floating heads and new bodies coming in the mail. She definitely eyes any boxes that show up for me. :XD:

    14. Ohhhh I know that feeling. I once had a package come from one of the doll companies in china—don’t know which anymore, declared as “human head”—which to them meant, the human version of a sculpt, and not the fantasy version. It got opened at customs, and my beloved post office man did a double take at it, even though he’s used to dolls coming into his post office for me.

DfA also once shipped me a box labelled “naked uncle body” if memory serves, which my post office man laughed at and went “I hope you’re giving him clothes wherever he’s going.” This is why he’s my favourite post office man.

    15. Hahaha you reminded me that back in the day there was an etsy reseller that used to sell these… they always used to pop up when I was looking for BJD clothing on there :XD:
(Sidebar: I still wonder what happened to that specific reseller but they just seemed to dissapear one day)

On the subject of customs forms for dolls. I’ve had “Barbie doll” written on a few of them from various companies.

    16. Doll IRL: beautiful focused gaze
Doll in photo: beautiful focused gaze and the eye sparkle is just right
Doll in the same photo, 3 hours after you posted: :?

    17. The fact that you can sell a doll only to realise later that you actually need it badly! I'm currently searching for the same head for the third time in a row... Don't even ask how I got myself into this situation. What makes it even more ridiculous is the fact that this head is rare, so the chances I'll actually find one are dangerously close to zero :"D

    18. Ohhhhh I feel that pain!! In like 2016 I sold a pale tan Twigling ingenue head, that I eventually had to way overspend and then dye another coloured head to get something like it back. I’ve sold a fhsh s.Rei only to decide I actually needed him back. I sold soom Vesuvia’s scorpion body twice only to end up digging for a new one. Same goes for my small bust Iple Hid girl body, of which I am also on my third. If it wasn’t so frustrating, it would be funny!

Onto the funnies from my end though, getting doll stuff shipped to my girlfriend’s place, because I live there most of the time, and my girlfriend, who knows nothing about dolls having to sign for a box that said “hands” on it, and then texting me to go “this has got to be yours.” This poor girl has only been dating me since November, and she’s already having to sign for my serial killer packages.

    19. I'm very sorry for all these hardships you've had to come through :( I hope that someday we both reach a point where we're more-or-less satisfied with our doll collections (if that's even possible in this hobby lmao)

    20. So what I'm hearing is... I'm not a hoarder. I'm just predicting my future desires?
      I'll take it. :thumbup
