1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread* - pt.2

Jul 13, 2017

    1. @Brightfires that's so bizarre! Timur was really detailed with me, sending me the order info and tracking. Definitely bug them about it!

    2. My pet peeve is when I’m trying to buy some new eyes, but there’s no reference photos of how they look on a actual doll... ugh.

    3. I'm pretty happy with this hobby but the judgement of outsiders looking in and commenting on how much they cost is sometimes upsetting. Like I spend this much money because it makes me happy :huh?:

    4. I've got one concerning eyes. When I go searching for a pair I need, and...I can neither find them in the right size or color, or the shops I like to buy from are on vacation or have stopped taking orders due to a backlog of other orders needing to be done. It always seems like my timing for eye shopping sucks.

A recent and personal gripe for me that's hobby related has to do with my airbrush spray booth. I was about to use it for a faceup before X-Mas when it just....wouldn't turn on. The fan was dead. Funny, it had worked for me earlier in the week, but just stopped working by the next time I used it. I had to order another one, and a (hopefully) replacement fan part for my original.

    5. I just bought a secondhand Dollshe Saint, and oh my god is he awesome, BUT he has a DS18M Rhythmos body. At first I thought it'd be like a temporary body because of its mobility and fitting issues, but it is just so damn beautiful. And now I'm stuck with this body that NO clothes fit, and all the seamstresses where I live only sew for the bodies that they have at home, and of course no one has a Rhythmos body. I just want some damn pants that fit my boy, but alas :(

    6. when you say 'where you live' do you mean country or like your city? cuz i kept the head of my one doll and sent the body to the person sewing. I also sent an msd body from Canada to the US for this reason.... she ended up liking it enough she bought her own of the same size lol but ya if it's in the same city or not to far to mail... send the body?

    7. I mean my country, yep :( I’m going to figure something out, mailing the body is one of the options, of course! Just wanted to rant :)

    8. glad to hear you are willing to mail a body lol most ppl do not even 'think' of it... oh word of advice... find something to send in place of hand (less risk of fingers breaking.. if they doll has fist hands those are great XD

minor peve rant of my own... ALL companies should make hand/foot holders like Dollmore does for Trinites and the Lusions... those things are fantastic...

    9. Oh, thanks for the advice! This body has hand holders so I’ll use those :)

    10. What about making a duct tape dress form for them to use of your doll?

    11. The severe lack of colored wigs that aren't mohair. I just want heat-resistant fiber!

    12. Out of date tutorials with non-working pictures are killing me. Then there's not exactly knowing how to describe something when I want to search for it on here. Lol.

    13. I haven’t seen seamstresses that work with that! Most want the real body or, rather, just want to sew for the bodies they already have.

      Supporting you on this one!

    14. Oh! I forgot the stalking old picture threads on here and all the old images I used to love to see are now that Photobucket thing. :...(

    15. Finding the exact doll or part I like and then finding out the seller doesn't ship internationally.

Not getting answers from doll companies. I'm a customer and inquiring about an expensive purchase, the least you can do is show some interest in my custom...

And yes, anything out of date with Photobucket images. Not just on this hobby, but on all my other hobbies as well, there's literally years of tips and information lost because Photobucket got greedy.

    16. I hate photobucket currently right now. Thanks to their 'lovely' update so many of my pics and photostories from back in the day have been lost. I'm gonna have to go through them, figure out which is which and start working.

    17. Tell me about it. I had three blogs with Sims 3 stories, and I ditched them all because I really couldn't be bothered to replace photographs from years ago.
I actually downloaded all my albums and then cancelled my subscription. I had the cheapest one and was under 30% of my storage capacity, and I didn't use all of the bandwidth that came with that account either.

I understand where they were coming from, actually - the free sites were paid for by ads, and when people just use their free site to put pictures on forums, their site actually does not generate money. In fact, the free accounts were bleeding money from the company and just not sustainable. (It was just a trickle for each site, but there were so many free accounts and not that many paying customers to offset it.)
I just think there should have been a more elegant solutions than just smacking everyone - including paying subscribers - with that ridiculous price hike.

    18. I never even knew Photobucket had a subscription. I used it back in the days of MySpace and then went to Flickr when I got into the doll hobby because it was a bit more organized. But they ruined a lot of sites by doing that. :/

    19. the word "discontinued" ... if you use it and iplehouse in the same sentence I swear I will break out in hives at this stage of thing ><...

    20. YES. ("Limited" does a similar thing to me, too.)
