1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread* - pt.2

Jul 13, 2017

    1. Ahhh. I know someone has probably already posted this, but I need to vent a little. Prepare for a small rant.

My absolute pet peeve is when someone inquires about something you have posted for sale, and assure you that they are 100% interested, then go on a hiatus and never send the payment nor update you.

Like, if you didn’t want it after all, that’s fine! But be frank from the getgo and let me sell it to one of other interested buyers... don’t be stupid and make me lose out on a possible sale.
      It’s sooooo annoying.

    2. Several of the dolls on my wishlist were discontinued while I wasn't looking. Totally without warning, they were there one month and gone the next...
I understand there are reasons why a company would want to discontinue a sculpt and renew its range. However, what I do NOT understand is why some companies do this without a heads-up or a warning of some sort to their customers. At least give us a sporting chance to get a doll on our wishlist before discontinuing the sculpt!!

    3. Don't forget that when you finally decide to just go with someone else who asked about the item, the first person inevitably shows up and gets upset that you didn't wait months for them.

    4. Yesss. Exactly. I can’t deal with people such as these!

    5. Do you mean fantasy colors? For My Doll has several options in their heat resisting fiber, though I think they're still running slow/down an employee due to long term illness.

    6. Thiiiiisssss

    7. I can't believe people do this! Then again when I do any transactions I want it to be as quick and smooth as possible. If I message someone about something they're selling, I will stalk my phone for a reply, even at work!

    8. When I next sell things and I think it's possible the item might attract flakey buyers, I might include things like, :Buyers who do not respond to a message within a week will be considered Uninterested and I will move on to other buyers. By making an earnest offer you commit to buy and agree to this."

    9. That's smart!! Even if this is just a hobby it's still business transactions and you need to be as professional as possible.

    10. Yeah, I meant fantasy colors, haha. I've already given FMD and Leekeworld a look, but thanks for the suggestion. :)

    11. People inquiring about sale items and shipping price, and then not even having the decency to tell you that they are not interested anymore after seeing the price tag on shipping. Like seriously, it's OK to say that the shipping is too high and that you can't justify it >_<

At least tell the seller so they're not holding items in the dark for a buyer who may or may not be interested anymore. I've had this happen to me more often than I like.

Seriously, no hard feelings if people back out from a feeler. Just please tell the seller if you're not interested anymore.

    12. I once had someone ask me to ship for free after seeing the shipping quote.

This was after also asking me to discount the item. And it was international shipping. I would have taken a loss on the item if I'd gone for the lousy deal they were trying to make me.

Don't not respond when shipping's too high, and don't do that either!

    13. Yeah, it's just...rude? Especially when you're trying to clean closet then it's 100x more frustrating haha.

I don't like complaining about buyers, most of the people I had transactions with are very lovely. But then again, these people didn't end up buying from me anyway, or polite enough to tell me reasons why they don't want certain items anymore.
People take it for granted that weighing a package, exchanging DMs with them, and trying to quote the most accurate number for shipping is significant amount of work. A "I changed my mind", no matter how short is better than absolutely nothing.

    14. What about someone posting stuff “for sale” then once you inquire about it, they suddenly decide they want to keep it. Ahhhh.

    15. limited i can deal with with iple so far since that just mean it goes into DC and can be 'brought back' ... where discontinued mean completely gone no chance of recovery... EVAR! ... i keep wondering who will end up on the chop block THIS year... sad im even expecting it now... ooooh time to start tracking 'popularity' ranking ><

this is fairly common with 'most' companies... my only REAL true company of choice atm is Iple... and the actual discontinuing of dolls is fairly new.... The last big chop they did was when the 'revamped' the YID into the nYID line and they were not compatible with each other so one line had to go. That i can deal with ... not like.. but get it... but hey have been chopping sculpt at an insane rate the last 2 years... so much so i went from 4 iples to 14 and have 4 floaters cuz there was no way I could drop several thousands of dollars in one go... I will admit they did let us know but it was extremely short notice even to get the heads... I'd expect sculpts from other companies to disapear... not iple so much... well not then ... now I wait for the ax to come down at any time. I think of it as ... iple is now as unstable/unrelieable as all the rest? It's a hard learning curve... 39 dolls plus a few that don't show now) have been cut in just barely over 2 years. And they can't be brought back. That would be nuts for 'any' company... but that has been iple for 2 and some years now.. Which is why so many ppl are now grumbling at iple.. add to that the disheartening clothing they used to make... ya it's over kill with this company right now.

    16. I don’t know if this has been said or not, but scaling down patterns so that you can make the correct sized doll clothes. For some reason that’s difficult to me XD

    17. I don't know what style you're looking for, but Monique Wigs makes a lot of styles in fantasy colors.

    18. I wish those blogs would disappear entirely. They are the most toxic part of the online aspect of the hobby (which is already basically a battlefield anyway). Those blogs are more than just bashing unskilled collectors. They're also used as vehicles for personal attacks against other collectors for everything from their wig/eye/resin colour choices to the characters their dolls represent, to personal characteristics and choices of the collectors themselves. "Confession" blogs are more than just a pet peeve to me. In many cases, they are weapons used to hurt a lot of innocent people, and I find them abhorrent and damaging to the hobby overall.

    19. That I often go to reply to a post with a simple answer and end up writing a 12 paragraph novel and I have no idea why I needed that many words. this annoys the hell out of me.
