1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread* - pt.2

Jul 13, 2017

    1. just now what really annoys me is resin-matching... especially if you have only pictures of certain resin-colors... It really stresses me out right now because I fear my plans might not work because of this... arrrrrgh! I need my packages to be delivered to finally know!

    2. Yes, soo muchhhh minifee!! It's insane!

I also agree on your last one, it is my biggest pet peeve that fills me with the rage of 1000 angry bears.... PLeaSe JusT TeLL Me THE LENGTH OF UR DOLL SHOES
      MSD/SD MEAN NOTHING TO ME

I can go and buy a listing that simply says "1/4 MSD BJD doll shoes" on literally any website and they get here and they're like 6.2cm to 7cm!!! My doll isn't Sasquatch ok!!! She doesn't have SD feet on her MSD body!! (what an image that is...)

    3. Me: What a beautiful wig! Listing: for MiniFee. Me::eek:

Exactly! The difference between dolls is quite big. Shoes are pretty difficult to find and this just complicates it more, one can end up with army of shoes which doesn't fit. Another problem: shoes which fit but look too big on the doll.

    4. There is so much Minifee stuff on the market that I almost regret getting a Senior Delf. I’m glad it’s popular but jeez it’s a bit disheartening finding cute things to only be confronted with the tag Minifee!

    5. Honestly.... MAGNETS THAT ARE INSIDE A DOLLS BODY!!!! O^O BECAUSE IF THE FANTASY PART YOU ARE TRYING TO ATTACH ISN'T POLARIZED CORRECTLY THEN YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE MAGNETS AND RISK BREAKING THE FANTASY PART!!! At the same time it's kinda hard to get magnets to stay on a body..... Magnets are more of a struggle then I feel like they should be.

    6. I'm new to instagram and clicking on cute dolls and wanting to know the company/sculpt and just seeing #bjd #dollphoto, etc isn't very helpful.

It has been a trial to get used to a new format, which is why I prefer forums. Forums are also easier to categorize and navigate.

A personal problem is getting swayed into not purchasing a doll from others reviews incorperating their own personal aesthetic. I took a doll off of my wishlist after comments that the dolls face was too flat... After around 10 years I actually bought her and am very happy, even if her cheeks are flat. She's such a happy and energetic looking doll and I regret doubting my choice.

    7. It annoys me when sellers ask the buyer to cover their fee's, because Im Australian I automatically have to pay an extra 4% PayPal exchange rate fee which I shoulder, but when sellers ask me to cover their fee's I find it extremely rude, I don't ask sellers to lower their price to cover my fees so why should they ask me to pay more to cover theirs?

This right here!! Just no, I shoulder my exchange rate fee's so you should shoulder your sellers fee's be grateful that your not selling on Etsy or something where the fee's are higher

    8. I simply hate when I'm doing face up and a very small piece of dust just sticks to the MSC and I just realise it two or three layers after.

Everytime it happens, I just wanna die :sweat

    9. I have to say shipping costs. I've seen some lovely eyes, outfits, etc I wanted to buy from companies only to be confronted with $50+ shipping for something that weighs less than a spoon. Ouch. :(

    10. I’m seconding (thirding??) covering PayPal fees. It’s not even allowed according to the ToS. If you’re worried about losing that money how about adjusting the price of your item so you’re not breaking rules and dodging fees you rightfully earned by using the service????

Sending through friends and family is also extremely shady. Denying a customer buyers protection is a huge red flag.

I’m over it and I’m explicitly not buying from people who do either anymore. Including certain US based dealers tbh.

(Uh, can you tell I just had to cover someone’s PayPal fees...? Oops)

    11. Postman come with big box. He asks if I can pay the costums for it, because it is very lots of money. No man! It's a surprise that I need to pay tax and other costums. I ordered two dolls there was a year between the two orders, and he always ranting about that it's a lots of money... I understand that he must ask, can I pay for it, but it's my money I work for it and no need to comment on how lots of money. I know it well.

It's irritating. I know same happened with me too. In a legit only group...

    12. It seems like this is especially a problem with Latis and limiteds. People preorder, and then turn around and sell for profit as soon as they have it. It rubs me the wrong way, idk.

    13. If you live in a country that charges customs, you are responsible for those fees, not your postal workers.

What annoys me right now is that I still don't have my studio! :...( I want to do fun doll and art things, but I don't have space until I finish renovating the bedroom, move into it and out of the studio, and put the studio back together... That's so much work!

    14. I agree that high shipping fees are annoying. I know it's international with insurance, so I'll deal. However, the body I ordered from Luts would have had an extra $7 in shipping for $5 eyes that weigh as much as a paperclip. What the heck?

    15. @vicemage I was only ironic. I know I must pay costumes. I always compute how much costums I will pay for my order. I am ok with it. What is annoyig for me that he always shocked, and talking about that it's how much money, what is in the box, because it's so exepensive... Simply just not his business, that's all.

    16. It's annoyed me before and it's going to annoy me again: out of my four dolls, it's the worst behaved one who always gets the love at doll events from random strangers! Out of my four girls, three are lovely and well behaved and even when the two little ones have odd demands due to their pear-shaped bodies, it's nothing too unmanageable and they pose well to make up for it. Then there's Saskia: she's been trouble from day 1, she's a pain to clothe, she's demanded custom wigs and faceups and I'm still not sure if she's more a 10mm or 12mm eye kind of girl and she's kicky even after sueding to the point where it's rare that she's not curled into a fetal ball with at least one limb on backwards. She's been known to scare little old ladies, probably deliberately, by glaring at them.

But for whatever reason, she's also the one who's amazing at drawing attention to herself. Like. Girl. Let the others show off for a little while. :|

    17. Has anyone come across something like I met at ebay? I win an auction for a soom doll on ebay 3 weeks ago, the seller mark the product as shipped but there's no shipping detail. I wait for 3 weeks and the shipping detail still did not show up. I contact the seller for 3 times and she only replied the first time said she got a flu, and the I heard nothing from her, so I open a requirement for this order, ebay helped me to contact her, still no respond, today I can not bear anymore so I ask ebay to step in, she immediately showed up and said she was in a emergency room BALABALA, and she can understand if I did not want the doll, still did not say when she can send it out. ebay refund me but I am still angry about what she did.So bad experience.

    18. Can I expand on this?

Faceup chips/scratches. In general, but specifically ones in brand-new faceups. I've been painting figures since the stone age. Just like that rogue speck of dust, nothing is more disheartening than just finishing a faceup... and the wigcap scratches the blushing, or the doll bumps an obstacle and takes something off with it. I have a score of heads sitting in my cabinet right now, all with faceups I did last year. All chipped within a day or month of being finished. I don't know if the MSC was bad or if it was me, but they've been there since fall of 2018. Sucks having to wait through the cold weather to fix them.
