1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Things that annoy you... *Rant Thread* - pt.2

Jul 13, 2017

    1. If possible, I would write all of that down in a feedback post. I don't know where I saw it at, but IIRC, there are places on Facebook where that can be done. Others should be warned of that person's unfair practice.

Honestly, that is one of many reasons why I don't buy second-hand dolls from Facebook, Instagram, or any place other than here. I know that if there is a problem with a transaction, the Mods can and will get involved. These dolls are way too expensive for any selfish-minded person to take advantage of to not try to warn others of dishonest people, if you can.

A lot of trust is involved in this hobby, and there are way too many people in this world that are only out for themselves to make a quick buck any way they can, even if its only overcharging someone for shipping.

I feel bad for you that you were ripped off. I wish you all the best in your future transactions.

    2. My current pet peeve is finally being in the mood to start a big doll-related project and then 6 different things going wrong within the first 2 minutes of working on it, and then I end up so frustrated that I have to just put it down until I'm in the mood again, which will be who knows when. (Also just an ADHD problem.)

    3. I don't have marketplace access :( I don't post enough, I lurked for years before joining, and I do try and post here and there, but it still isn't enough for marketplace access. I didn't really join here until I bought my first BJD because I felt I wouldn't fit in if I didn't have any, even though I admired them. That is on me though :sigh

    4. I hear you. I’ve been a member for a long time but they force you to post. It’s awful. Some people just aren’t social or chatty. The marketplace is a marketplace...not a message board. Even with a ton of good feedback they still make you post. I applied for marketplace in november so I could find some of the minifees that would be discontinued. Instagram and Facebook were slow. I figured marketplace was a good place to check. They told me i posted too many times in a short period. It’s March and I’m still waiting. Time to update this place.

    5. I read on here, but I don't like posting just to post. I have joined in on some topics, but it isn't something I am completely comfortable with. I find it easier to join in discussions on fb groups, but even those I don't post much :/
I did just apply for marketplace access, as I have been a member for several years, but I didn't post much in the past, trying to be more social in the present lol

    6. same here. A lot of the conversations are about doll brands that I don’t buy from. That makes it even harder. I wonder how much longer they’re going to make me wait. It’s not going to change any experience I have or someone else has with me on marketplace.

    7. Den of Angels is a forum, not a marketplace. Your (and every other participant's) involvement in the rest of the community is what helps to keep the marketplace here as safe as it is. And people can, will, and do look at the activity of newer MP members to determine whether they look like they'll be a safe person to deal with; I do, and I know I'm not alone on that.

    8. I get that no one wants people who will take advantage and scam people, I just feel like the whole commenting part feels a bit forced since I’m not the posting type of person. I know others aren’t as well. Many people who have been members for a long time and who have marketplace for a long time also agree that it’s a little harsh.

    9. The thing that keeps a forum (and thus the marketplace) going is people posting. If people don't post, the forum dies, and so does the marketplace. I was an active part of a different forum, but when people stopped talking, the forum died, and so did their MP.

People can, and will go elsewhere to more active places. Therefore, it is logical that people are required to post in order to keep DOA going. The MP is just another thing that helps keep people here, and keeps them talking.

What many people do is go to box opening threads of dolls they are interested in, gallery threads, Newbieland and even join discussions in order to give their input or ask questions in order to keep the forum active. Not only does it help educate you and others, but it keeps the conversations going. Plus, its easier to make new friends that are into the same hobby that you are into. :3nodding: I think that makes it a win-win for all of us. :thumbup

So feel free to join in the conversations. :XD:

    10. What I did (and still do) was looking at threads about companies that I did have an interest in or at projects that people did in the workshop. If something was beautiful and/or interesting, I made a post to tell it! It's one post in the count and it's nice for the person who did the work to know that I appreciated it! Everyone wins. :)

And I got motivation to do sewing/knitting so, added benefit.

    11. Thank you for this explanation, this was a perspective I didn't think of. I do try and post more, and would like to be part of an active community, I just feel the dolls I have aren't the type that are popular so I don't have much to add. I do check in and read here daily, I just don't post daily.
I am going to try my hand at making wigs, since ones for my girls are so hard to come by, so I may be taking advantage of the crafty area soon lol

    12. And there are other places that are more market-focused that you can go. Den of Angels is not "a marketplace with a forum attached," as many people like you described seem to believe. It's a forum that has a marketplace section as a convenience to the members. You are not entitled to view the marketplace, nor is DoA required to provide it to you, or to anyone.

If you just want a marketplace, go to Etsy or eBay. No one will ask you for any proof that you aren't a scammer there. Nor will they ask any of the sellers to prove it. But they aren't forums, so no commenting!

    13. Not a problem, after all, that's what we are here for, to help each other in this (sometimes confusing) hobby.:3nodding:

My pet peeve right now is the weather. Right now, its the last day of winter. Its currently cold, windy and the ground is damp. I want to be able to bring my Crew outside and take pics without worrying that they will be blown away, or their clothes ending up muddy and damp.

Hurry up dry, warm and sunny summer days! :eusa_pray

    14. I do look at those. Relaxxxxx it’s just my opinion that the standards are high. I’m entitled to mine just as you are entitled to yours. I don’t think I worded what I think correctly in my original response to the post so my bad for that. I’m just saying I would like to view other sales places without having to wait for things that I like to comment on which are few and far between. That’s all. That’s what I think and feel.

    15. Meanwhile I'm cross that spring is here. I'd rather take my dolls out at night when sunlight is at a minimum. Now I have to wait longer and longer for fittings, pictures and the like.

    16. Having my brain go into depressive mode when I'm trying to work on doll related projects. That ain't fun. At all.

    17. It really annoys me that after all these years, I still can't take beautiful pictures of my beautiful dolls. I adore looking at the photos from some of our more artistically skilled members, but it also makes me horribly envious.

Then again, it’s my own fault. I have no patience.
